I received…read morea text message at 9pm the night before stating that all appointments have been canceled due to weather. As someone who is a supervisor and leads a team on daily basis, I completely agree on ensuring everyone is safe, especially when weather can be dangerous. In the text message the guidance given is to reach out to the company and reschedule. The very next day on March 1 I reach out to the company to reschedule. I receive a text message back two hours later stating that there is an opening on Thursday, 2 March at 12:30pm. I agree to the appointment. The day of, at 12:30pm I text at 1231 and mention that I am home, please advise when you arriving. No arrives, calls, or even sends a text. The company is a no show. I call at 1246 and no one picks up. I receive a response at 2:07pm I'm guessing from the owner since the person never identified themselves mentioning that they have COVID and have been hospitalized since Tuesday night and that there secretary was supposed to reach out to me an led cancel. I text back to summarize my experience and mention that maybe the secretary needs more training and it would have been nice to have received a phone call so I could schedule with someone else. I receive another text message that I felt was unprofessional and telling me that we are all "human" and that "this is not in my hands" and that "I have a second job, I work in a hospital, maybe I get infected there" as there are continuous apologies. Here are my concerns: 1.) When originally canceling the appointment due to weather, sickness, etc it should NEVER fall on the client to be the one to reschedule. Proper customer service entails the company reaching out to the client and making the effort to reschedule. This shows that the clients business is indeed important. 2.) The need to communicate through text message should be limited. Pick up a phone and actually talk to your client. This can help alleviate any misconstrued information and it shows your clients that they matter. I wish I could have experienced what the other reviewers experienced, however, the ball was dropped big time. I'm also in the process of moving out of my condo in two days, and this experience really didn't help.

I don't want to say Merry Maids was the worst cleaning experience but this company is not what they…read moreadvertise. For starters, my first cleaning was a deep clean of my whole house. The ladies did a wonderful job deep cleaning and were here for hours. However, one of the women began to feel unwell to the point that I was very concerned for her well being and had to call rescue. She was taken to the hospital and came back later for her car. Thankfully she was okay. Apparently she drank too many energy drinks. The situation was very awkward though. I had never met this woman and I couldn't answer any questions the EMT's were asking (luckily she was coherent). It's also very embaressing to have an ambulance/fire truck at t your home. The other cleaner didn't speak much English so she had to be picked up by another staff. I had to contact their office. It took away from my remote work and I had three kids at home with me who had to witness this. On top of the 911 situation, the job was not complete. I wanted the basement cleaned and it didn't happen. I paid hourly so I let it go and I was just glad the woman was okay. I even called to check on her the following day. The office staff was apologetic, but they didn't offer any compensation for the disruption. nor did they ask if the cleaning had been complete. I felt bad reporting it had not been complete so again, I let it go and continued to have them clean my home monthly. The monthly cleanings are different from the deep clean, which is fine. At first, the cleanings were decent but each month they began to slide. Some of the staff were very unfriendly. The left beds unmade and I would see dust in obvious areas. It literally became bare minimum. I decided to give them one more month to think things over However, in my final month, prior to me cancelling my entire family came down with a stomach bug. I had to cancel the day before, which gave around 24 hours. They do have a 48 hour cancelation policy, which I understand. But you can't control sickness. I was told I would be charged a $75 cancelation fee. I offered a doctors note, in which the office staff chuckled and stated she would let me know. She never did let me know and 3 weeks later I was charged the $75 cancelation fee. At this point, I decided to cancel the service for good. I canceled with notice via email and received both an email and text asking why I was canceling. I responded with all of my reasons and asked that someone reach back out to me to further discuss. NO Response back. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. My only reason for even hiring a company to clean was due to my father being very ill and having to care for him. This experience only added to my sadness and frustration. Unfortunately, my father passed away so I now I am doing my own cleaning. Needless to say, I do a much better job than they did. Their monthly cleanings took 2 hours, where as my weekly cleanings take 7 to 8 hours. I just wanted to give warning to anyone who plans to use this company. You're better off going with a small cleaning business.
