I knew where everything was in the mess , but I did not have a system I could easily maintain. I rotate through a ton of skincare, body care, hair care, dental, fragrance, and other personal care products depending on my needs. Before, they were mostly sectioned-off piles. Wal (pronounced Val) sorted everything by category, placed less-used products and back stock in the back, and kept the things I reach for most in the front. The team also bought clear bins that fit the space, including sliding bins I can easily pull out and taller bins for shampoos, conditioners, and other bottles. This was especially helpful with the wire shelving in my rental. Now everything is grouped together, visible, and easy to access. I can also refine the system over time as I use it and getting ready flows now. Wal and I collaborated on what I wanted to keep and how I needed the space to function. The team also organized under my sink, where I prefer to keep only cleaning products, foot care, and toilet paper. That preference was respected. Rose's team worked with my budget, and Wal has become my ace for projects like this . I already have more spaces I'm excited to hire the team for. I spoke to Jim on the phone to book the service, and he was really friendly and helpful. He said his wife Rose would be in touch with a quote after I texted some pictures of the room. I don't know who I was texting with in the end. They quoted me $100. The two workers arrived right on time, were very polite, and did a beautiful job! However, they spoke no English and used a phone app to communicate. (You speak into the phone, they read the Portuguese that's generated, then they speak into the phone and it spits out English. Who knows how accurate it is.) I lived in a foreign country for 6 years and while I wasn't fluent, I had basic proficiency in the language... admittedly I worked in an industry where people spoke English, but for day-to-day things I was glad I could read and handle basic conversations. (This was pre-smart phone.) I'd love to hire Rose's Cleaning for their organizing service, but can't imagine how you'd do that with someone you couldn't talk to. They get good reviews for that, so maybe I'll try it. I'm skeptical but interested. If all you need is cleaning it probably doesn't matter that you can't communicate without a phone translator. Their work was beautiful and they were punctual and polite. All of that is great. I'm glad they could fit us in!

I provided photos upfront and received an $80 quote with an estimate of about an hour of work. She requested a tip and cash only. I asked that it all be in the receipt. The owner also performed a walkthrough on-site before starting. Two hours into the job, she stated she cleaned an unrequested secondary pantry/scullery area off the kitchen that was outside our agreed scope, and demanded a price adjustment for her extra time. When we declined to pay for unauthorized extra work beyond the $80 agreement, she became upset, stopped working mid-job, and left. To make matters worse, she accepted $100 cash on-site ($80 for the job + $20 tip), but then refused to issue a written receipt. When we asked for a receipt showing the $100 handed to her, she claimed doing so would be "falsifying records," completely refusing to itemize the $80 service charge alongside the $20 tip. She then went on a tantrum to both my partner and me with inappropriate language and threatening to block us. I also searched the state business database and found no active business or LLC filing under "Green Gleam" in Rhode Island. Makes me wonder if she is working as a sole proprietor (Joyce) but with a business name. I will be looking more into her business practices with the state. Overall, very poor communication, lack of scope management, and highly unprofessional conduct. I would not recommend this service.
