He came by our house one night and on the first meeting, we went over our budget and what we wanted to have made. Alex understood what we were looking to do, took measurements and sent us a quote within 48 hours. A few days later, Alex came back to measure again and go over a game plan - I gave him a deposit and we were off and running. From there, I went to his shop to see the progress he making and everything looked beautiful. Fast forward 2 weeks later - everything was built and Alex showed up with one of his guys to install everything. They were respectful, hardworking and despite some cutting, he left the place clean as a whistle. They did a terrific tiling job on the wall. They creatively problem solved to successfully integrate the cabinets with an irregular wall indentation. The work site was kept clean throughout, and removed the debris. I love the outcome - it's a beautiful, working kitchen. Roca Mia worked started working before the COVID-19 state wide shutdown, but took care to provide me with a working kitchen before we locked down, and picked up the work again when we reopened at the appropriate phase. They complied with all the paperwork required by the co-op board and management company including the additional pandemic related safety plans. I needed to get the hinges replaced on a noisy inside door of my house (the joys of being a new homeowner), and I got several responses from contractors across Yelp. Andrei's stood out both because it was the lowest price quote, and he had the best reviews of any other respondent. It seemed a little too good to be true, but I figured it was worth taking a chance. I'm glad I did, because Andrei IS too good to be true, and yet he exists. Excellent communication, punctual, thorough and completely self-sufficient, the hinge replacement process started off great. Then, after expertly replacing the hinges, and even sanding a bit at the base of the door where it caused the door to stick when opening and closing, he checked to see how the door opened and closed - the door was now blissfully quiet, but still stuck, and he identified the door latch and plate as needing to be adjusted. Above and beyond! The door works perfectly now, it's literally like a new door. And because the door was to my mother-in-law's bedroom, having Andrei provide this superlative service scored me a few points with her (well, at least for a few hours, until she found something else to grumble about).
