Always nice to have a chance to enjoy coffee and a treat. I think this location is the best in Ottawa. Staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Store and restrooms are clean and well stocked. Great signs and attractive displays Coffee is good (be better if they offered Almond Milk for Lattes) They do have Oat milk and Soy The treats are plentiful and varried They offer Granola cereal and great bread Seating is comfortable and plenty I'll be back Today I tried a"Stollen" Excellent Stollen also known as 'Christstollen' is a German pastries. I love Bridgehead; their coffee, the food, the service - it's spot on! And every location sells their bread and pastries at half-price after 5:00 pm. Of all the coffee shops in town, I believe I like Bridgehead food and beverages the best! This location has a unique shape (but what doesn't, at Pinecrest!) - it's sort of a lopsided U-shape; lots of windows with tables snuggled up to get the best of the sunlight. And plenty of seating. It was quiet here this evening, with only 2 other patrons at separate tables. Surely they get busy during the day, even with the competition in easy walking distance - including Ikea!! The staff was friendly and helpful, even suggesting a less sweet maple latte, and recommending the discount pastries. They're open 'till 9:00. I look forward to coming back! read more

Was one of my favourite coffee chains; a real local success story! Unfortunately, poor quality, lack of consistency, poorly trained people, high staff turnover (not surprising), unfriendly... all speak to poor management, particularly at the Iris location where there is a new face each day. It's a shame. They have great coffee and decent food. I grab my breakfast most days of the week, my partner loves their granola and we buy beans for home brew. Hope they figure it out... too late for me though. read more

Pit stop in Ottawa, Bridgehead is like a Starbucks or a Timothy's or even a second cup. There are many options in terms of coffees, lattes and other expresso mixed drinks. I ordered a matcha flat white, cause it appeared interesting. I've had coffee flat whites but never a matcha. Hmm, perhaps not again? It was more milk than matcha and not very hot. Not having a Bridgehead in Montreal, I make sure to grab a coffee whenever in Ottawa. It was my first time trying the Iris St. location (usually always at Sparks St. where I have always had a good experience). This location is within a Government Office building and close to Ikea - plenty of parking and seating inside. The interior is stylish, spacious and cosy with lots of variety (including gluten free options). The coffee (which is also fair-trade) is always of a high-quality - deliciously creamy and presented beautifully. Finally Bridgehead has opened a location further west then Westboro. Personally, I was always hoping they could take over the Timothy's at College Square (it's close by and I'm not a fan of Timothy's) but this is good for now. Unfortunately, it means I'll probably be going more often than I should! As you can probably guess, I'm a Bridgehead fan but like any franchise, what you get here is pretty much what you should get at any Bridgehead. BEER There is one main exception to the standard menu. This location serves alcohol. As they are still finishing the setup of the location, they aren't serving beer yet (I'm assuming that is what they will be serving as they have draft taps on the counter) so I have no idea what types they are serving but it is coming. SERVICE It seems like the workers here are new and still learning the ropes so things are taking a bit longer than they should and the lattes I have had are a bit inconsistent in the taste department. That should settle down though, hopefully sooner than later. PARKING Parking is a bit limited on a weekday due to most of the parking being assigned to government workers in the attached building. I wouldn't be surprised that some of the dedicated Bridgehead spots are used by workers as well. Point being on a week day with a small crowd at the Bridgehead, there was only one spot left to park in. Weekends though are fine. PATIO This location also has a small patio out front. It's nicely set up and has I guess around 10 tables. --- All in all, I'm happy to see Bridgehead continuing to expand, both their locations and their menu offerings. Love the coffee and snacks! This business is not only eco-friendly but ethical in practice. Upscale decor and it is kept surprisingly clean considering how busy it can get at times. The staff are approachable and positive, and who doesn't need a contagious smile to go along with their caffeine? Price is comparable to similar products provided at other coffee shops. Quality is consistent and worth the money. Only tip is watch those lids for take away cups as they can be trick! Always be sure to place the top of the lid (furthest from spout) in line with the crease in the cup (the line where both sides of the cup meet). Hope that helps! When I first found out there was a Bridgehead opening up on Iris I actually freaked the f%#* out. All my coworkers knew that my life was about to considerably change for the better. Bridgehead is so engrained in my morning routine, why not make it apart of my lunch tradition also? I tend to be pretty boring when it comes to my coffee order but their medium blend, which they change routinely, is usually the perfect roast for me, not too strong or bitter but still packing good flavour. Their food selection is also varied and they have healthy options! My grilled cheese sandwich and potato dill soup were both totally satisfying. Though at $15 for the two, it is a bit pricey when you compare to other takeaway spots. But everything is made locally and I can't help but support that local business yo!! The Iris location is still working through some kinks with new staff (it can be a little slow and sometimes awkward, though totally endearing, service) but they are also featuring some of the newer things that Bridgehead is doing like serving Kombucha on tap and testing out different food items that you wouldn't find at their other locations. Definitely will be back, even if it's hard on the ol' bank book, a couple times a week. read more

This was a surprising spot for a Bridgehead to be open on a Friday evening and it was pleasantly not too crowded. The building and location is obviously there to appeal to mainly the weekday masses of government workers during the weekdays. While the service and ambience gets a four star and does my friends specialty drink...my medium roast, medium coffee tasted like it might have been sitting from the 4:00 rush and we were now 5:30. That is where the two star comes in. Not the usual Bridgehead delicious that I am accustomed to. I will try them again though and see if they can improve because there are not many "good coffee" spots in this area of town. So we settle with a three star and hope to move it up. read more

I have been here a few times now every time I am in town. I normally come here to meet up with a girlfriend to catch up and chit chat. I have to say, the location is very convenient as it is close to my parent's place and it is easy to get to. There is plenty of parking too. In fact, it is walking distance from IKEA. This location is very spacious and comfortable. Out of all the other Bridgehead locations, this location would be one of my top favs. The coffee here is good too. Last time I was here, I ordered a Flat White. The Flat White was really good. The milk was a nice velvety micro foam, just like it supposed to be. read more

Very disappointed. I am a big fan of Bridgehead coffee, and frequently visit the Bank st. and Sparks st. locations. I was in the neighborhood on Friday evening, and stopped into the Iris st. location after an Ikea trip. I had seen the Blood-Orange creamsicle drink advertised on the Bridgehead instagram and on some window ads, and was really looking forward to trying it. The drink is a vibrant, frothy pink topped with whipped cream and purple star shaped sprinkles, I have seen it compared to the Starbucks Unicorn frappe in terms of aesthetics. The store was quiet when we walked in, and the only employee had her back turned to the cash (It looked like she was mixing a batter) and didn't notice me standing at the cash. When I got her attention, I ordered the drink and was asked if I wanted it with whip (Which I did of course! lol) It came to $5.03 for a medium. She called a male employee to actually make the beverage and resumed her task. When he handed me my drink, it had no whip at all and was served in a "flat-top" lid. He disappeared almost instantly behind into an unseen area, out of earshot. I walked back to the cash and asked the first employee, who was very apologetic and took the drink, got the employee and had the drink fixed. He added the whipped cream, replaced the lid with a dome-shaped one, and handed me back the drink before quickly disappearing again. I didn't bother going back to request the purple star-shaped sprinkles he forgot, despite the clear tub holding them being within eyeshot on the counter. I love Bridgehead coffee but it was a really disappointing experience, especially when trying such a hyped drink. read more

I was informed they sold gluten free snacks however the gluten fresh baked goods and gluten free goods all kept under glass together right next to each other. They have no clue about cross contamination. All they would have to do is wrap it in Saran Wrap in a clean area before handling the gluten and wheat goods. Otherwise coffee is fare trade and good. read more
