It was all we wanted and more. The sliced strip steak was perfectly done on a chimichurri base. The small lamb chops were also perfect. Other dishes were equally outstanding. After we paid and called for the car to be brought (handy valet parking!), my wife was complimenting the server for her great work. My wife for mentioned it was my birthday and the service made it special. Little did we know. The server said "wait here", disappeared for a couple of minutes, and returned with two small desserts. They were on a happy birthday plate. Gratis! We will return with friends!

This went considerably better and our server, Kevin, was excellent and attentive without being annoying. He received a generous tip. The presentation of the food from the seared tuna to the filet mignon and lobster frittata were all excellent and well worth the trip. Our salads were uniformly, fresh and delicious! To finish the brunch, we shared a piece of The Capital Grille's world famous coconut cream pie, which was on point and fantastic.

We shared one of the massive steaks, creamed spinach, French fries, Mac and cheese and asparagus. All was excellent. Didn't need dessert but got a pecan pie anyway. Pie was good, whipped cream was over the top. Only knock on the restaurant as a whole is it seemed a little more run down than I'd expect of a place of this caliber, particularly the bathroom. I'm also a beer drinker, not a cocktail drinker, and thought their selections were a bit lacking.

From the moment we sat down, the service felt inattentive and inconsistent. Bread was dropped off without any explanation or introduction, and throughout the meal we repeatedly had to flag staff down--for menu guidance, drink refills, and even basic items like a steak knife after our food had already been served. What stood out most was the noticeable difference in how we were treated compared to other tables. We had come from a basketball game and were dressed more casually, and it genuinely felt like that impacted the level of attention and care we received. Nearby tables appeared to receive far more engagement, recommendations, and overall hospitality. For a restaurant at this price point, I expect knowledgeable staff who can confidently guide guests through the menu, including wine or drink pairings. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When we asked for suggestions, the responses were vague and unhelpful, and at times felt dismissive--especially when a younger member of our group was steered toward overly simple options rather than being properly informed. The food, which could have redeemed the experience, was equally disappointing. The chicken dish was completely under-seasoned and lacked any real presentation--honestly resembling something you might expect from a cafeteria rather than a high-end steakhouse. The steak itself was poorly executed, and there were no accompaniments or recommendations offered (no sauces, enhancements, or pairings that you would typically expect at a restaurant of this level). Drinks were not refilled when meals were served, no dessert options were presented, and there was little to no effort to elevate the experience at any point during the evening. Even when asking about the restaurant's specialty (the bacon), the explanation we received was unclear and didn't reflect pride or knowledge in what is supposedly a signature item. At the end of the night, the bill simply did not match the quality of service or food. I had hoped to treat my best friend and her son to a memorable dining experience, but instead it felt awkward, uncomfortable, and ultimately disappointing. There is a lot of potential here, but significant improvements in service, consistency, and overall execution are needed to justify the prices being charged.

Everything was cooked to perfection. The calamari was an absolute hit, along with the shrimp special. I've heard great things about this place and I'm finally glad I got to go. Excellent evening a few weeks back on a rainy Saturday night. Beautiful restaurant. Great…read moreservice. Had been to the Fort Lauderdale location a few years ago. First time at their Newington location. We were seated a booth - very nice - extra roomy. It's nice that you aren't on top of other people in this restaurant. Nowadays they just pack people in which takes away from the dining experience. Started by splitting a Caesar salad. Forgot to take a picture - probably because it was so good and we were lost in conversation. My boyfriend got the filet with twin lobster tails special. He enjoyed the filet and I had the lobster tails. The lobster tails were huge! The waitress mentioned they normally put some sort of a spice on them but I asked for it to be left off as lobster is delicious on its own (I just asked for butter on the side). Unfortunately, they put salt on the lobster tails which kind of ruined the flavor, however the lobster was nice and fresh, so I just dunked them in butter to mask the salty taste. Lobster is so flavorful and delicious by itself - it doesn't need anything other than lemon and maybe some butter. Chefs are always trying to do different things with lobster and they don't need to. Perhaps they put too much salt in the water they cooked it with. We also split the Au Gratin Potatoes. I must not have read that it had three cheeses in it. WOW was that a lot of cheese. A bit much. Very tasty but too much cheese. It was also quite small. We got the flourless chocolate cake for dessert and I have to say I normally love these, but this had an espresso flavor to it. Like lobster, chocolate is good as it is - no need to add different flavors to it. I hate tiramisu/espresso flavored desserts typically, so that flavor ruined this for me. I wish they mentioned it had an espresso flavor in it. I will ask in the future when ordering at restaurants. Service impeccable. Just a few things that kept this from a 5 star review. We did bring in our own bottle of wine so they will allow that, you just have to pay the $25 corkage fee. Nice evening. Will be back.

Full disclosure, my family almost never goes to steakhouses because we have access to really great…read moremeat and are used to just firing it up ourselves. But we are huge fans of the Peter Luger steak sauce & we had visitors, so why not visit this iconic steak house which is conveniently not located in NYC proper? We arrived a little early for dinner, so the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. They had us sit for a second at the bar lounge while a table was being assigned to us. The ambiance really plays up the heritage of the Peter Luger brand. We were seated towards the very back of the restaurant. I really liked the area since it was not too dimly lit. We started with the breads and wedge salad. I love carbs, and I liked that the breads were a little heavily seasoned. Caraway seeds are not for everyone, but they are for me. The butter was not very flavorful or soft, but I guess that's being too picky for free bread and butter before the meal. I chose the wedge salad because I knew I'd want crisp lettuce with my steak & also this salad comes topped with chopped bacon. The same thick bacon that people order on the side! It felt like a two-for-one dish. I enjoyed both the bacon and the lettuce smothered in blue cheese. The bacon really was nicely cured. We got the steak for two, which came on a sizzling plate precut. We did ask for medium-- not my preference-- because my guests didn't really enjoy eating meat not browned up all the way through. However, the steak came out closer to medium-rare. Initially, the plate was hot enough for us to try to sear the pieces. However, I found that the plate cooled much more quickly than I thought. The flavor of the meat was very prominent and the seasoning was well executed. Creamed spinach was a bit of a disappointment. It just didn't really taste like anything except a little muddy in aftertaste. The onion and tomato were nice, thick slices that helped cut through the richness of the steak. I did write on the reservation that my guests were celebrating a wedding anniversary, and they brought out some whipped cream and chocolate even though we declined dessert! Always such a lovely touch.

He helped us make the right selection of steak, and appetizer. We were seated with a nice view of the outside promenade. At first glance the dining room didn't seem large but on the trip to the restroom I learned that they can accommodate large groups and have private rooms as well. Restroom was clean and equipped. We ordered the crab cake, 12 oz. filet mignon and lamb chops, and the lemon cake. The crab cake was chocked full of delicious crab meat, not a lot of breading. The steak was flavorful and arrived hot. The double-bone lamb chop entree was enormous, and delicious. It was accompanied by parsnip puree and a mint-pistachio chimichurri, scrumptious!! For my pre-birthday dessert I chose the lemon cake and was delighted to see Gerard had also brought [ME ;) ] us the strawberry Hibiscus cheesecake and I was so happy he did!!!
