We all know that a nice salad goes really well with pizza, right? But do you ever get bored of the…read moresame tired old ho-hum salads? Well how does this baby sound? Heirloom tomatoes, honeydew, cantaloupe, basil, EEVO and vinegar, a big hunk of Burrata cheese, and cornbread squares? https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rn_I83pgA_O_tmR9w3xjRQ&userid=cVrM2BvOvPV0Vi_rC8kepQ It was gorgeous- a rainbow of reds and yellows and oranges and greens . And yes, it tasted tremendous, one of the most original and delicious salads I've ever seen and tasted. The pizzas were even better. Cooked in their old school wood ovens, they had a very thin crust (after all, this is New Haven), lots of cheese, lots of great red sauce and a very generous representation of the four toppings we tried. We ordered a small with meatballs and mushrooms https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=OlplO38xtq5NcUF3ZuVo8g&userid=cVrM2BvOvPV0Vi_rC8kepQ and another small with half sausage and half artichoke. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=lGqD3I1Wc-1tTYVgV5FxGw&userid=cVrM2BvOvPV0Vi_rC8kepQ Each small pizza ran $12. They were all superb. A few takeaways- the sausage was outstanding, with lots of thick slices all but blanketing its half of the pie. I also was surprised to see a lot of portobello mushrooms instead of the usual button mushrooms. So if your State Street faves are jam packed (as was our intended destination of Modern Apizza), just keep driving a few more yards toward the train station, and enter NOLO's big spacious lot and grab a booth or a table in their huge dining room. You will be as glad as we were to find this place.

The good news about this move is that the new location has on-site parking. HUGE bonus for any restaurant near/around State Street. Can't emphasize this enough, the convenience is worth one additional star on its own. The new establishment is VERY different from what you may be used to if you are familiar with De Legna's original spot. Personally I much preferred the original location setup because the vibe was much more comfortable and welcoming. The new interior is a trendier (for better or worse) and the seating is a combination of traditional tables, round booths/tables, bar seating, and even 2nd floor seating that appears to be more geared towards a bottle-service type setup. Most importantly, the pizza is still great (the same as it has always been from what I can tell). Our waitress was fantastic and accommodating. It's clear that the restaurant is still getting used to the inevitable adjustment that comes with moving an established pizzeria down the street into a new building that had an identity of its own. They've got a bit more work to do to make it cohesive, but I'm excited to see the evolution of the journey. Needless to say, I'll be back to chow down on my favorite New Haven pizza.

From the moment you sit down, the experience feels intentional--warm wood tones, beautifully branded trays, and little details like the bamboo boxes stamped with Everyday is Ramen Day that instantly set the mood.- see picture The ramen... this is where Kyuramen really shines. The broth is rich and silky without being overly heavy, clearly simmered with care. The noodles have just the right bite, and the chashu pork is tender, flavorful, and generously portioned--melting into the broth with every bite. Simple, classic, and done right, which is harder to find than it should be. Everything arrives artfully plated, and the pacing is perfect--never rushed, never slow. It's an easy spot for a casual weeknight dinner, but also polished enough for a cozy date or a relaxed meal with family. If you're looking for ramen that balances quality, presentation, and comfort, Kyuramen absolutely delivers. This is a place you'll come back to--because yes, everyday really is ramen day.

That was my 4th & last time. I honestly should've left upon arrival but tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. It got worse & my entire meal was rushed. I tried to bypass the lack of Hospitality from previous visits, and even recommended the place to some of my peers and their recent feedback + feeling rushed, was similar to mine. I did not leave a tip, and the manager got confrontational with me. I politely shared my feedback and walked out. Based on that experience, would you go back, would you have left a tip?

Everything here is absolutely phenomenal. IPPUDO makes their noodles and broth on site, and those details make all the difference. The ambience is relaxed and inviting. A great way to enjoy a great meal at your pace. We showed for lunch on a Monday afternoon, and were seated and served very quickly. Our server was very engaged, and took good care of us. For starters we had the edamame and pork buns. The edamame was wonderfully garlicky, and the pork buns were simply bite sized pieces of joy between two doughy pillows. As a main meal, I ordered the Karaka Spicy ramen. It had the perfect amount of spice, and extra noodles were complimentary. I had mine with a poached egg, which blended in seamlessly with all the savory textures and flavors. While the bowl seemed almost overwhelmingly large, it was easy to enjoy in full because of how delicious it was. I've had a fair share of ramen dishes, and IPPUDO is right up there with the best.

I was not sure if the place was dog friendly but they have a lot of seating in the back and we had our own private outdoor tent in the back that was spacious, had heaters, and quality furniture. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, not just greeting you when you come in but throughout the entire dining experience. My group split the black dumplings which I really liked the sauce, I had the Point Blank ramen -- it was delicious and smokey. The pork broth was savoury but not so oily as the horse radish cut through well for a really refreshing taste. My sister had the Iron Men IV which was also so good. I think I was most blown away by the creativity in the dishes and how good they were. The whole menu felt innovative and intentional. I really want to come back again and again to work my way through the whole menu lol. Last thing just wanna shout out the staff again! they were awesome!
