This place is right up our alley for getting dinner and drinks at the bar so we were very disappointed when we walked in (on a weekday evening) and were told we couldn't sit at one whole side of the bar...because their "high top tables behind are too close to the bar for servers to walk through". Are you (expletive) kidding me?! Either arrange your tables properly or train staff flow. We walked out. The bartender was soooo rude as we sat down, it wasn't worth even explaining to her why we got up and walked right back out the door. Great patio and servers are fun and quick! I showed up on trivia night (by accident) with 2 teens. We wanted to sit outside, but the traffic on the road in front was kind of heavy, causing it to drown out the music, so we went inside & grabbed the 1st booth just inside the door. They weren't too busy and our server waited on us right away. This is definitely a casual sort of place, so dress comfortably. We ordered the chipotle bacon cheese burger and 10 piece fried shrimp meal. I asked for a Guiness in a room temperature glass (it's just how I prefer to drink Guiness). When it arrived, it felt very cold, so I asked our server about it. She excused herself & the bartender came over & explained that the beer on tap is ice cold, so the beer in the glass will be cold. They were apologetic and offered to make it better - I felt how much they cared about customer satisfaction and thanked them for the offer, but I understood why it was cold & told them it was fine. How special they are to care so much! Our food was served quickly and hot and was fantastic & the atmosphere was fun. We loved the trivia fun and joined in on it from our booth (safe out of range of the real players, lol). I will definitely be returning. read more

Excellent food! Our table enjoyed the bourbon meatloaf with the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese and the fried oysters with crack fries. The drinks ordered were a Beaufort Hurricane and a Platinum Margarita. The hurricane had a little bit of a funny flavor but the margarita was smooth. Service was lacking considering our salad arrived at the table at the same time as our meals. Our server never came back to our table once our orders were placed until about 10 minutes after we were finished. If the service would have been better I would have given them a solid 5 stars since our food was so delish! read more

Outside dining in warmer weather. Large rustic area available. Inside area, flooring, tables, booths & straight chairs, all mostly rustic wood. Comfortable. Parking can be a challenge. We had a wonderful waitress named Ty. She made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. It was our first time dining here but we will definitely be coming back. My wife and I brought our family here for a quick bite and drinks. I really enjoyed the theme it had as a casual bar/pub. What ruined our experience was our server, Kristen M. After our first interaction of taking our order we never saw her again without having to rudely flag her down. Someone else had to bring our kids food, our food, and our drinks which were warm from sitting at the bar. All three of these being separate interactions. When we finally were able to get her attention to bring the check (because kindly asking a more attentive server to get her didn't work) we had to pay from a hand held tablet where the options for tipping are 0, 20, 22, and 25% while the server stares at you. Our food was great, the drinks (even though they were warm) were good, and the other servers seem to be very kind and attentive to their tables. I would definitely love to come back with a different server. read more

The waitress was very friendly and helpful. I spilled my tea on the table and she came quickly to help me clean it up. The wait for our food was probably 20 to 30 min. We ordered our burgers well done. They came out done in the middle but.with one side burnt. My daughters mac n cheese was weird. The cheese sauce was light and watery. The taste reminded me of the poor man's mac n cheese with pasta and a slice of.cheese stirred in. I was really disappointed because the food I had a few years ago here was good. Beaufort has smart people, not one person sitting at outside tables with heavy traffic ten feet away, and usual 93 degrees and humid. Inside a 50/50 mix of Restaurant/Sportsbar. Nice looking place! Ordered drinks, waitress ran off to get them.....disappeared.....finally another showed up ten minuters later. Good service after the rough start. Had the fish sandwich. Comes on a hoagie bun with a mixed chopped veggie topping which seemed a bit hotter than just jalapenos. Brother had yesterdays meatloaf with caramelized onion. Both excellent, one side order comes with the lunch meal. Rates a 4.5/5. Good spot to meet up with people and not fight the downtown crowd. read more

Went here for lunch with my parents right at peak time on a weekday. We sat outside and there was only one other outdoor table occupied, but the dining room and parking lot were completely packed. Understandably, it took a while to get our food, but our waitress Samantha was absolutely wonderful. We all agreed that the food was hands-down one of the best lunches we'd ever had. My mother had the fish tacos and really enjoyed them. My dad and I split the buffalo & blue cheese fried shrimp and the quesadilla roll with grilled shrimp; both were incredibly good, and rather large portions too; I brought about a third of the quesadilla roll back for a snack. I desperately wish that I had more restaurants with food like Bricks on Boundary back home. read more

Four of us at Bricks last night. Server was new to the job so we understood that. Ordered my usual salad, asked for a couple of items to be left off. Meals come out and mine is wrong...again! Happens every time we get takeout or eat in here. Very quiet customer wise and yet it took a really long time to bring my new salad to the table...everyone else had finished their meal. And that was after I told the manager what happened. We really want to support local businesses but it's hard when the customer service isn't there. This is a kitchen issue. They are part of the customer service experience. read more
