Bulk bricks. Small and big containers, and small, medium and large bags
Beverly E.

This is such a great place for Lego lovers in your life. Here are some reasons why: * You can buy or sell legos * You can make minifigs for as low as $5 (head, body, headwear and accessory; anything else is additional) * They also sell minifigs in the display case and they have almost everything you can think of! * They sell premade legos (behind the counter), and have "ball figs" which are figures premade $6 or 3 for $15 * You can make legos from pieces in the bins at the front of the store (you can fill a small or large plastic container. I believe they have small, medium and large bags now too). This is kind of what they have at the store in Legoland by the entrance, but this store is a great option for those who don't have Legoland passes or get to go to Legoland.

Bricks and Minifigs is conveniently located off the 5 freeway in Carlsbad, bordering Oceanside. Our Legoland passes expired and my 3 Lego-crazed children wanted to visit and see what they offered. As we pulled in the parking lot, the store's colorful and clean exterior immediately caught my eye. Upon entering, I was promptly greeted by friendly staff who were ready to assist. This Lego Mini figure store (for lack of a better word) truly stands out for its exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere. What sets this store apart is the incredible patience and dedication from the staff. They go above and beyond for children, ensuring that every child has a positive and enjoyable experience. Whether a child is picking out their favorite Lego sets or mini figures, the staff takes the time to help and make the process fun. The store offers an impressive variety of Lego sets and mini figures, catering to different interests and ages. Prices are reasonable compared to other similar stores, making it a great place for families. Additionally, the store's rewards program is a fantastic way to save on future purchases, and I highly recommend signing up - It's FREE. Overall, this Lego Mini figure store is a must-visit for any Lego enthusiast, especially families with children. The excellent service, wide selection, and welcoming environment make it a standout destination. So happy this is near our home.

They have multiple locations and each one is packed with fun and interesting stuff. They have everything a comic fan would want. Comics, trades, shirts, figures, statues, etc. Problem is each store is just unorganized with memorabilia all over the place. It's hard to find things and stuff is out of order. There isn't a logical layout. The other thing that bugs me is pricing on stuff is just inconsistent or wrong. I understand marking things up for the person who might not be familiar, but you are only hurting your store in the process because like most retail shops people will just opt to buy it cheaper online(or find it for less at a different place in the mall). Also, there is dust everywhere. I'm sympathetic that they probably don't have the staff to keep everything tight and that the store can look disheveled due to all the foot traffic, but show that you care! They moved to a smaller location in the mall and the store does look better than it did, but the fact that Ninja Exchange is right next store and is wildly popular on the weekends should make Comics-N-Stuff take a long look in the mirror. They could be getting a lot of the Ninja Exchange people Monday-Thursday if they capitalized. Running a business, let alone a comic shop, is difficult in this day n age. I will stop in to try to support every now and then, but it is hard when you get the sense that the love isn't there.

Grocery stores stock toys at kids' eye level. Target has several aisles stocked with toys that have their own television shows. Best Buy displays toys next to the checkout line. Gepetto's in Carlsbad is a small store stocked with top-quality toys, and in my experience staffed with people who are always eager to help and often able to help. The place is insane during the week before Christmas, but the staff somehow copes. I try not to go there at Christmastime. Shopping with a child for toys in a store whose inventory is not advertised on television is much simpler and more satisfying than taking the same kid to Target. Trust me, I've done both. Since in general the toys at Gepetto's are unknown to the child, there is far less of the "gimme gimme" that happens at Target. And whether a toy is still interesting and unbroken the next day is unrelated to its advertising. A 5-year-old in my family was astonished that there were no Minecraft toys at Gepetto's, and asked if we could go to the nearby bookstore because it would for sure have Minecraft toys. I find Gepetto's selection of child-compatible art supplies to be superior to what's in stores like Michael's, but they cost more. I don't mind.

I can't complain too much, though, as the promise of a toy store at Legoland allowed us to bypass the San Diego Zoo shop without incident. It was also a legitimately fantastic place, with an enormous, thorough inventory. I'm an adult Lego enthusiast, and I enjoyed seeing all the sets I'd ogled online. I saw several I wanted to buy, as well a few Lego-themed jigsaw puzzles, but I controlled myself. We were there for the boys, who were allowed one item apiece. Our sons are four and two, and they both went for the same stupid giant light-up sword within seconds of reaching The Big Shop. The Lego Group knows how to make money, and they know what they're doing putting these swords right at the entrance to their theme park gift shop. The swords dangled from two sides of a display stand, and one of my kids went left while the other went right, both of them drawn to the swords like Gollum to the precious ring. I didn't want to go home with two loud, cheap, plastic swords when we were surrounded by wonderful toys, and I managed, with great effort, to divert their interest and return the swords to their racks. I showed our four-year-old Leo all the cool Lego City sets and he picked a fire station before seeing the larger, more expensive Command Rover and Crane Loader. I was happy to pay for this, as it looked fun and was not a light-up sword. We got our toddler Wade a Duplo brick box that came with almost 100 bricks and a cute container, where we'd be able to stash all the Duplos already floating around our house. We paid for these toys, then instead of being grateful and happy, Leo threw a full-blown tantrum over the fucking sword. We held our ground, but it was a tough one. We had to carry him crying to the car. We were at Legoland with our friends, who also have two boys, and when we told them about the sword, the other mom said, yep, we have one of those. Turns out she'd had the same experience with their older child--denying the sword, facing the wrath--who then came back to Legoland with his grandparents and returned home with the sword in hand. Truly, the Lego Group is evil for this one. Our purchases have panned out, though, and I believe both boys are enjoying them more than they would have out the shiny but ultimately useless swords. Leo and I spend days building that rover, and it sparked a general interest in Legos, which has been a very positive development for me. Wade loves his Duplos, too, and is constantly playing with them and announcing, "I'm making a building!" Not a bad outcome, all told, and I look forward to our next visit to The Big Shop. We'll just have to get ready to vanquish those swords again.

Little did I know I'd walk out today with a BRAND NEW WII! We got a Wii (it also included Wii Fit) and purchased a LOT of games too. The Wii was a huge part of my childhood and unfortunately the one I owned growing up was damaged and thrown away (gasp... I know! But not my fault)! Anyways, the worker there today (had on a My Chemical Romance hat & had some cool tattoos) helped us out today. I didn't get their name, but they were very nice and extremely helpful. The pricing here? Out of this world. It was so affordable to snag over 10 games and a brand new Wii. That's not something you'll get at Game Stop! On top of it, they offer a military discount (we couldn't use it but it's good to know for anyone who can)! This place is also dog friendly and I got to meet a cute dog named Bowie (I wonder if he's a regular)! All and all, I wish this place were located in Los Angeles. I really loved it and again their pricing was extremely fair. I really hope they can get a website up soon because I'd love to buy from them when I'm back home! Thank you for an awesome, affordable and great experience. It was like walking down memory lane in this store!! It took me back to my childhood.
