Everything was excellent. When I mention a 12 ounce steak might be a bit much for me she said I could get half of steak à la cart and then just order some sides. The steak was rare which I ordered. I had the garlic mash which had a whole Lotta garlic and some vegetables. My friends burger was perfect. The drinks for excellent we had cosmopolitan in an old fashion. I was seated right away. There was one vegetarian option, the roasted veggies risotto, which they did not have. No other veggie options. I saw that they had pasta with marinara sauce, and then a side dish with roasted veggies, so I asked if they could add the veggies to the pasta with marinara sauce. They were accommodating, which was awesome. The roasted veggies were yummy, but didn't go too well with the pasta. My own fault for trying to concoct a veggie option. My recent experience at this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon left much to be desired. Arriving around 1:45 pm, my party and I were eager to try out the place for the first time. However, our initial impression was disappointing as we stood in the doorway, right in front of the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign, without any acknowledgment or greeting from the staff. Despite our anticipation, the lack of attention at the entrance set an unfortunate tone for our visit. It's essential for any establishment to make guests feel welcome right from the start, and this aspect was sorely lacking. A simple greeting or a nod in our direction would have gone a long way in making us feel valued as customers. While I cannot speak to the quality of the food or service beyond the initial encounter, I believe that a restaurant's first impression is crucial. In this case, the lack of attention to guests as they enter was a missed opportunity to create a positive experience. Boyfriend got the skilled with pulled pork, frozen corn, frozen chicken tenders etc. really really low quality food that was not prepared with any skill. Ambiance pretty good but again, food really needs to be cheaper or way higher quality. Training in the kitchen as well, a white wine butter sauce should not be snot consistency. This place was a great choice for us for lunch! I ordered the pesto bruschetta- it was delicious!! It was made with fresh mozzarella and included a balsamic glaze. I also ordered a side of roasted butternut squash and it was heavenly. It had such a good, rich, comforting flavor. My husband got a cup of the chicken vegetable and wild rice soup that had so much flavor and was perfect for this chilly day. He paired it with a beercheese burger and fries. The burger was 10/10- the hatch chili's along with the beercheese paired so well with the beef patty. Also worth mentioning- Ms.Nancy was our waitress and one of the 5 owners. They came with bacon, which we don't eat, but they don't tell you that on their menu, for some totally inexplicable reason, so we were cheated into paying for food we could not eat. MOST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD CANNOT EAT BACON. Whatever it was, it was neither Mac and cheese NOR fettuccini Alfredo, and there was definitely NO explanation for why we didn't get either. We ordered a side of fries. We were also told, explicitly, on the menu, that the steak and the fettuccini included fries. That would be THREE orders of fries that we PAID for. When we arrived home, we discovered that we ACTUALLY got exactly ONE order of (cold, limp) fries, despite having paid for THREE. Genuinely a bummer because the people we interacted with were professional, courteous, and helpful. We are in town visiting from So Cal, and decided to drive through and stop for dinner. We are so glad we did, because this was one of the best meals we have had in a while. The bartender was very friendly and courteous. He made us a great moscow mule. My husband got the Blackened Salmon, and I got the Flank Steak. We cleaned both our plates. There were so many flavors and textures, and everything complimented everything else. Bartender recommended the Warm S'mores Bread Pudding for dessert, which was also amazingly good. My husband laughed at me because when they came by to ask how everything was, all I could say was a very dramatic "this is insane." Cool vibes, lots of locals, but we felt very welcomed. Despite being super busy and understaffed, the experience was great and makes me want to come back to try the tasty food. It was my boyfriends birthday and dessert was on the house. Gluten free options are bountiful and the vegetable selection, especially in the sides, is outstanding. Not many GF apps, so we went straight to dinner. Beet caprese, pork chops, side of Mac n cheese and butternut squash was more than plenty. The pork chop was nicely cooked and the sweet potato mash with the apple demi was the perfect pairing. Too much pesto on my caprese, but otherwise delicious. Boyfriend loved his Mac n cheese. Drinks took a long time to get to the table, so when we ordered out dessert sipper, it never made it to the table, but our server caught up to us as we were leaving and put it in a to go cup, which was very thoughtful and considerate. Overall, vibe is laid back, food is upscale, drinks are solid, dessert is delicious. My boyfriend wants to go back for the burger, and I'd be happy with a bunch of their veggie sides. read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Grand Lake and it was a great choice! They were somewhat busy and short staffed, but the staff there was so friendly and fun that it didn't matter. We both had the Beercheese Burger with tater tots and we shared the Elk Chili Cheese Fries. The elk chili was hearty and not spicy but really good flavor. The burger was cooked medium and it was perfectly pink in the middle. The beercheese also has some diced chilis in it which made me for an incredible burger and the tots were crispy and Delicious!! The rest of the restaurant was clean, spacious, and a equally inviting, with a number of smaller and larger tables to accommodate groups of varying sizes. I think our servers name was Hal(?-long beard & moustache?) and he was amazing! He was attentive, very friendly & personable. Balsamic chicken: 3 .5 stars. Chicken with balsamic glaze over bed of Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. I thought the sauce and glaze tasted pretty good. Chicken was super dry and I had a hard time cutting it with the steak knife. The skin was hard, but chewy too. It wasn't crispy. I would suggest frying the chicken but make sure it's seasoned. It just cooking (pan fry) without the skin. Hard, chewy skin doesn't taste good. Brick house burger: 3 stars. Burger with bacon and cheese. Hubby said tasted ok but needed a sauce because it was flavor less. Brick house bowl: 3.5 stars. chicken tender and pulled pork over mashed potatoes with corn. My daughter said there was not much flavor with the mash potato and pork. Fortunately the tenders had cheese and lend some flavor. Came out in a skillet ( not sure if cast iron or not). There was a sauce on the corn that gave it a bit of flavor. Crispy Brussels sprouts: 4 I really liked the Brussels sprouts. But maybe I was the only one. Brick house wings: got the BBQ wings. 3 stars. Some of the wings were crispy, which I enjoyed, but the wings - skin was soft...that's a no no for me with chicken wings. Sauce was plenty and delicious. Apple pie margarita: don't order if you like margarita. It was very watered down and bland. I know margarita needs more flavor. Friendly service. We went for early dinner (around 5) so it was fairly empty when we arrived, and we took advantage of their outdoor seating. The food came out reasonably quickly with the cauliflower coming first as requested but the server said they also "ran out of side plates; is that ok or do you want us to wash some for you?" What?!?! I said it's fine and that we would just eat off the serving plates but seriously, what kind of question is that to ask a customer?? Food wise, it was fine. We had originally wanted pizza so the flatbread was my kid's fave item. Hubs liked the burger and fries. The Buffalo cauliflower was either overly salty or had too much sauce; we would not get that again. Everything else was fine. I guess I didn't realize how much we ordered, or was otherwise surprised by our bill of $75 including tip but that's my own bad. read more
