Stopped here for early happy hour 2-5:30pm. The Happy Nachos are amazing and I enjoyed my first fried pickle experience. Friendly atmosphere and great happy hour prices - enjoyed a flight of beers.

Pork belly Cuban with jalapeño apple slaw

More of a restaurant look and feel than a brewery, and the place was split up with multiple rooms. The outdoor patio was a cute little area with comfy chairs and nice string lights. Jess K was our server. She was nice, but not super attentive, she really only came over to take our order, bring our food, and bring our check. The food was just ok, drink reviews are on Untappd. We came on Taco Tuesday! Pickled cabbage, pico, queso fresco, chipotle aioli on all the tacos. The prices of each are: $3 chicken. Beef. Portabella. $4 brisket. Pork. Fried avocado. $5 shrimp. Steak. Cod. I do not like the pickled cabbage flavor at all on any of the tacos. It's kinda a weird flavor, I picked the bigger chunks off. It would be better if they replaced it with a slaw. I tried the chicken, brisket, fried avocado, and cod. Chicken 7/10 Fourth favorite. Little dry. Wish it was shredded and not in a large strip. The end of her chicken was so crispy, it had a crunch to it. Brisket 7/10 Third favorite. Good flavor on the brisket but a little dry. Fried Avocado 8/10 Great avocado flavor. Really good. Maybe my favorite one. Fish Tacos 8/10 Second favorite. Was battered and fried. Juicy cook on the Cod. Idk why this was much spicier than the rest of them, but it was so good. Pork belly Cuban 7/10 Dry sandwich. The bread is poking my gums, little hard and crunchy.. the flavor was basically just meat and roll. There is pulled pork and pork belly, which I wasn't expecting. You can taste the pork belly well. The cheese is basically melted to a crisp, so you couldn't taste it at all, it blended in with the crunchy roll. Basically needs some more of everything though... ham, cheese, pickle and definitely more mustard. Jalapeño apple slaw 8/10 Vinagery. Little sweet from the apple. Not too spicy. Not a bad slaw. Smoked Gouda griller Had a pretty long strand of hair in it. We all watched him pull it out of his sandwich, it was pretty disgusting. He didn't want to be rude so he just picked it out and kept eating it instead of sending it back.

Love going to Brickworks, and now is a great time to visit them! It's the start of fall and they always put on terrific specials celebrating Oktoberfest. Service is always good and friendly servers. We had a humongous pretzel served fresh and hot served with a nice ground mustard, beer cheese, and cinnamon butter. Delicious! I ordered the schnitzel special and it was excellent. The pork was thin and tender and not overly breaded. Excellent red cabbage and tender spaetzle. A nice drizzle on top of the schnitzel rounded out the entree. Of course they have not only their own brewed beers but guest beer from other local breweries. Accommodations are nice with seating inside, in the bar area, or outside in a nice patio area. Perfect for enjoying the beautiful fall weather. Try Brickworks if you're in the area. Ih, and they have a loyalty program you can save a little if you come back!

I wasn't impressed. And this is my 2nd time back in like 2 yrs. Why? Waitress: she wasn't fully attentive. Never cleared our appetizer plates from our table. Took forever to get my sister's beer. She had to get another las to get her attention. The place was hardly busy. My food: the wings were overcooked. The street corn was a lil much...too much sauce on it. And my burger was meh. I just picked it apart an ate at the tasteless meat. The beer: out of the flight that my sister n I split...I didn't really like any of them. I got the "summer Shandy" like beer instead.

For a small state, Delaware sure has numerous micro-brew to try out. This one being located in Smyrna, a bit further down south than the hustle and bustle of Wilmington. Their menu is pretty diverse as it offers typical pub food, as well as a bit more refined comfort food. Beer flights are available if you can't decide which brew to try out. Good atmosphere to spend with family or friends. Staff are friendly, and efficient in their service. Entrees taste great, and the portions were large. We will definitely be back to try other entrees that we didn't order. For some reason, our to-go dessert took a long time to come out. Perhaps some communication error in the kitchen and the wait staff. Overall, a good experience to dine and relax.

Such a mixed review & experience. We made reservations for Sunday brunch and glad we did as the…read moreplace got crowded quickly. On one hand I want to try again for dinner but for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. Pros: Amazing service - very attentive server(s); we had one in training/shadowing and she was just as good as our primary server, offering refills, clearing plates, overall greet banter Cocktails are fantastic - had the Minnie Ripperton and loved it - creamy yet refreshing and bright which is a tough combo to achieve Cons: Hidden entrance - after circling what looked like an abandoned building 2x we finally figured out the entrance was in the backy and down a set of stairs. I now understand the "speakeasy vibe" but the clutter in the front made the building look abandoned or under construction; not a great start to the experience for us Food service - the other couple we were dining with got their entrees about 10 minutes before ours and we were some of the first orders & diners of the day. Usually you might hold the whole table or refire some of the dishes so it all comes out at the same time. They finished theirs before we even got our to start, making it a strange eating experience Small print menu - with the low light of the speakeasy, the menu had the teeeeniest print I've ever seen making it very difficult to read the menu options. We also didn't realize that the menu changes/is seasonal (not called out on the website) so many of the items we had wanted to try were not an available option. I love a menu that changes but hope it's indicated on the website (aka: sample menu, subject to seasonal change) Hit-n-miss: Fried chicken Benedict- huge portions, amazing biscuits and perfectly poached (but unseasoned?) eggs. I don't know if the hollandaise soaked into the fried chicken or never existed at all - and that's the thing you want with a Benedict. If it existed, it never reached the biscuits because while they were good, but were completely dry Shrimp and grits - perfectly cooked, great consistency, but very under-seasoned Water - just an observation and maybe it's just the local tap water flavor but it tasted off or as off the soap hadn't been washed from the glasses Pro Tip: be aware of the automatic gratuity in some circumstances; if you don't know, check the website before your meal!

The renovations done are outstanding. The staff was plentiful and attentive. Four of the cheaper items on a limited menu were not available. Items ordered: The Seafood Pasta which was a little overpriced and had way too much pepper. It was almost returnable. The Boar Meatball which was very good. It could have used a small bed of pasta and/or some bread. Too expensive when you consider you only get one meatball for $19. The Korean BBQ Tacos comes with two tacos and no sides for $22. Our waitress, Linda, greeted us and took our drink orders right away. She was very patient as I asked a bunch of questions about the menu. Our dinner arrived quickly and it was yummy! I had the fried fish, which came with a delicious Old Bay tartar sauce. The fries were so plentiful that neither one of us could finish them. My only (minor) complaint was that it was difficult to eat the fish in the basket it arrived in, as the paper and wire made it hard to get the flaky fish. But the food was great! A live acoustic guitar player came midway through our meal and although he played right next to us, we were able to continue to have a conversation. The decor is nice and it is divided by a hallway which makes the place feel cozy, although there seems to be plenty of seating. We will return!

Looking through the glass panes in their door at the bottom of the steps leading to the back yard and C & D Canal, it appeared that the lights were off and that it wasn't open for business at 3:00 p.m. The door wasn't locked, so I opened it to step inside to try for a better look. It was then I saw a woman behind the bar who appeared to be setting up for business. She also saw me and asked if she could be of service. I asked if the place was open? She explained that it was, and she would be happy to make me a cocktail, however, they rarely had customers this time of day midweek, and that if I was hungry the restaurant above would certainly be happy to take care of me. The conversation continued briefly as she explained the two businesses had a common owner and shared a kitchen with a slightly different, but mainly overlapping menu. The large dining room next door was shared, although there were several tables in the shadows as well as a few barstools. The darkness seemed appropriate; like a cave where many things could be hidden from view and likely to instill a sense of secrecy and even conspiracy, for example, a perfect stop for the Underground Railroad or a speakeasy during Prohibition. Realizing I was taking up her time, and that she had better things to do than listen to a stranger's fantasies, I excused myself and exited the door I had just entered. She smiled and nodded, as she continued wiping the glassware in preparation for the night's guests.

Like there was excrement on the wall, trash cans over flowing and toilet paper on the wall, stuck to it. All over the floor. The bar tender said something to the manager and the excuse was that it was the bait parade the night before. They have had over 12 hours to clean the bathroom. The nachos were absolutely gross. Poured cheese, 3 jalapeños, cold chicken. Two years ago it was a mix of cheese and smoked chicken, and delicious. I hope the owners read this and take note. Your saving money on cheap ingredients will lose clientele. A gross bathroom should have you shut down. Do better. You have a great location and a special little bar.

When our party arrived, we sat in a place that would be good with the dogs, because their was another dog near the entrance. My friend had asked for a high chair and the high chair arrived beyond disgusting. We were all grossed out by the state of the high chair and our table - no one wiped it clean or did anything. I helped and cleaned it for my friend and the picture that I posted is after the fact it's been wiped. Please imagine how bad it was before I wiped it with 4 sanitizing wipes. The waitress, Becky came over and asked if we're ready to order, meanwhile she saw our entire party wiping the tables and high chair and never once offered to clean it. She didn't even understand that we haven't looked at the menu because we're too busy doing the restaurant's job to offer a clean environment to eat and dine. She seemed annoyed that we weren't ready and left and turns out the other dog was her daughter's and they were there hanging out. She, of course seemed more cheerful there, then she was with our party that just sat. We haven't done anything to annoy her besides just arriving. The restaurant did provide water bowls for the dogs, but no one really seemed to be happy to see dogs being there, so not sure why this place would be a great place to take dogs. I just really thought all the staff here would all love dogs. I didn't taste the smashburger, but it was flagged that it wasn't a true smashburger, since there wasn't any crispiness or thinness. It was just a regular burger. I got the mussels daily flavour that was "Thai" - decent, but a lot of the mussels came closed and not sure why it would be "Thai" when they used jalapenos as their heat. Shrimp Basket - not great. Very disappointing experience - wished I didn't pick this place and wasted a meal here for the sake of wanting to bring my dogs to a place where I thought would be a great place for them.
