It's not fancy, although it's trying to be. Something. I go here for the eggplant appetizer, the name of which escapes me. Two large slices of breaded eggplant wrapped around seasoned ricotta, smothered in red sauce. I think about it often. The lasagna is a good lasagna. Cheesy, saucy, with perfectly cooked pasta. I can never eat it all after the eggplant. Husband got the Jambalaya pasta last time. It wasn't good. Wasn't bad, but wasn't good. Certainly wasn't as good as my lasagna. He also had something the time before that with lemon butter that wasn't good, either. Certainly wasn't as good as my lasagna. Husband obviously not having very good luck here, so he doesn't get very excited about going. Eggplant Parm was tasty--the slices of Eggplant are super thin, crispy and seasoned well (reminded me of the way I like my fried green tomatoes). Caprese Salad was okay. I've had better. Italian dressing on the side of the house salad was olive oil with what appeared to be a pile of Parmesan cheese and seasoning at the bottom--screw the oil on the table and use this for your bread! read more

Brick Oven Cafe - Well at least the wine was good. - Italian Near Me - Kenner, Louisiana

In a pinch and ready to eat, we stopped by for a delightful meal of good home cooked Italian cuisine! While the place could use an update in decor from the 70s, there were nice touches of stamped ceilings and other unique pieces. The center piece is the brick oven of course and the aroma was OUTSTANDING! If only they could bottle and sell it for cologne! The Sicilia Pizza was cooked to perfection with homemade marinara sauce with excellent tasting dough and medley of veggies with andouille sausage. The spaghettini carbonara was also homemade with a portion size to feed an army! Great flavor! A glass of Malbec and two Caesars accented our meal along with good fresh bread and butter. May not be much to look at from the outside, but not to be missed! read more

We love coming here! They should bottle their Italian dressing and sell it! It's so good on the salads. Esp the cafe salad! The pizza is phenomenal. The atmosphere is so romantic at night. Definitely try it if your looking for a good local Italian place! read more

We came into Kenner from Mississippi for a next day trip to New York. We ordered through Waitr from the Brick Oven Cafe. We ordered the shrimp appetizer in a marinara sauce with a kick; a house salad with house italian dressing; and the Chicken Florentine. My wife and I just were over the moon how great the food was. I am telling you this restaurant has high quality food. We will not forget them. read more

Brick Oven Cafe - Dead fly crouton - Italian Near Me - Kenner, Louisiana

Having temporarily OD'd on seafood while visiting New Orleans, we decided to go out for Italian. The Brick Oven, which was close to our hotel, is an old school restaurant with dated but comfortable decor and pretty good food. For starters, we shared a Caesar salad and really liked their dressing. I ordered a 12" pizza with sausage, mushrooms and peppers -- not bad but a little bland, even after adding crushed red pepper. My husband had chicken parm with a side of pasta which he thought was OK. Vincent's was recommended to us for really good Italian food, and we'd probably give that a try on our next visit. read more

This is my second time eating here and once again very happy with the food, atmosphere and service. Would definitely be back again.

Excellent food. We shared a pasta dishes and a sausage and pepper pizza. The pizza was thin and cooked in the brick oven. The atmosphere was cozy and the waitress was very friendly. Will be back next business trip. read more

Was awesome authentic Italian food. Wait staff couldn't of been nicer. Get the lasagna or the brick oven pizza melts in your mouth.

Thursday night, not crowded. Marinara and the meatballs were really good. Sauce was on the sweet side but good flavor. Huge portions. Noodles were over cooked. Wasn't really impressed tbh. Prob won't be back. read more

I have not been here in years and we stopped in for lunch and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing, outstanding Italian, the service was perfect, but the only reason I can't give it more than three stars is because I'm fairly certain they haven't cleaned the floors, the hallway leading to the bathroom or the bathrooms themselves in a decade. Please God refurbish the bathrooms, get rid of those ridiculous bathroom stall doors, they have no locks and swing out like projectiles and take a serious mop to the baseboards and that whole area. The whole restaurant could use a paint job, replacing the rotten front doors and an overall cleaning. read more

Great atmosphere, we were seated right away. The waitress explained the the special and took our order in good time, she even suggested changing ingredients if I wanted. A very good experience as always. read more

We really like this place. Every time we fly. We like stopping here for lunch. The pastas and pizzas are really good. The sausage app is very good. Excellent meatballs and an amazing house salad. First time eating here. Initial impression was suspect, but wanted to try a new place. The menu is extensive, although it comes across as a pizza place purely. Fairly good menu in terms of options. Seems popular with the local crowd. Had the pizza which was good. Just wish the crust was thinner but that's just a personal choice. Bar area is not particularly large but service was good. Prices are medium range unless you are going for the Steaks which are around 29$ average. Overall yeah good choice in the Kenner area. read more

We were only in town for the night. Walked into this restaurant not knowing what to expect. We were greeted by the hostess that fortunately turned out to be our waitress as well. Lisa was such an amazing food server. Prompt, attentive and one of the most warmest, funny and all around awesome server. The food.... WOW!!! Every time I took a bite I actually closed my eyes and melted a bit. I'm a picky person when it comes to my food so this is speaking volumes. My husband loved his as well. I would say to anyone that wants it all, amazing food, good service and a great atmosphere to try this place. If you live there you will find your new favorite. If your just visiting you always remember New Orleans for this amazing restaurant. Lisa thank you for such a great experience. God Speed. read more

I ordered a pizza and a salad through DoorDash. After eating the salad and A couple slices of pizza I removed a large mushroom from the next slice and off came a cockroach with it! This is by far my favorite pizza place in Louisiana! It would be my favorite in the world, but a place in Texas takes the cake. Anyway this pizza is tasty, sumptuous, and mouthwatering. It's topping selection it's large and delicious. The only problem with this place is that it is a bit pricey, but it still is amazing!!! read more

I liked the bar area and the atmosphere. The service was great and the people that work there are fun. As much as I liked being there and didn't want to be negative the food was very average. I had spaghetti and meatballs. Should be an easy one to hit a home run with for an Italian restaurant. Didn't happen. Sauce was a little bitter and the noodles were well done to where they were mushy. The meatballs were chewy. Need to use better quality meats. read more

Absolutely great pizza and fantastic service ! will be back next week when we fly back in NOLA! Thanks Paul for the suggestions, we enjoyed our dining experience!!!Do not hesitate to stop in, on your way to or from the airport, easy to get to. Greek salad was great too. read more

My husband and I love dining here. Always delicious. I had the cannelonni which is served in a thick savory red sauce. My husband ordered the lasagna which was excellent and a large portion enough for two. We each ordered a side salad to start. He got the cafe salad with chicken and I ordered the Greek. Both had house made Italian dressing with feta. Yum. They have excellent pizza, too! To complete the meal, We split a tiramisu. They are open all afternoon so we like to get here after the lunch rush. Great service! One of our regular go to restaurants. Nice atmosphere with 60's music in the background. Pretty quiet for conversation. It's about time I give them a great review! Thanks for a lovely meal. read more

The New Lenten Menu is Awesome. My husband had the Redfish Rocco and I had the Seafood Au Gratin, It was incredible!

I was staying at the crown next door, based on reviews, this seemed like the best choice... I was wrong! I started with a Caesar salad. It was not Caesar at all... Super wet, and almost Italian ish... Not good. I then moved on to "pollo masala" it was dry and the sauce/gravy was terrible. After this is was still hungry, so I got a cannoli, it was "store bought" I'm sure... And to be honest was the only decent thing I had. read more

I will give them five stars. Because the service was good. We had a really good waitress. And the food was quite tasty. Although I could have gone for a garlic bread instead of a baguette. We ordered pizza while I ordered pizza because pizza is in the name so I figured that their Pizza had to be good and it was actually cooked in a brick oven. And we also ordered jambalaya. The jambalaya had shrimp duck chicken and andouille sausage. It was so tasty. And the pizza was actually very tasty too. They said that they make the pizza fresh and the pasta was made fresh there and it definitely tastes it like it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who may happen to be staying close. It is also reasonably priced and you won't be upset about your portion size. This place also has a very nice atmosphere it was quite a few people there which is always a good sign. Great lighting I like the decorations. It didn't just look like a run-of-the-mill restaurant like a copycat Friday's or Applebees read more

I like this place. I've been here for lunch and dinner and find the food to be quite good. I have yet to try the pizza. My selections have all been pasta with some form of seafood in it. The pasta tastes fresh and the sauces are great. Be sure and try the Quattro Formaggio. It is fantastic! Service was good too! read more

The BOC is great stop if you've just landed at MSY or if nothing else decent seems to be open. However, I believe the three stars are a accurate rating. The place is comparable to the Olive Garden. Moderate flavor at a moderate price. Throughout the duration of my meal I wondered if the marinara skipped the stove top and came directly from the can. The ricotta wrapped in eggplant was not crispy and fresh. My manicotti arrived sad, drowned in low grade mozzarella and seriously lacked seasoning. Also, my companions spaghetti was dull, the food lacks the depth of flavor developed in true Italian cuisine. However, the staff is lovely. Our server was attentive, funny and friendly. She told us the BOC has been open for over 20 years. Of which the new owner has had possession for about 8. I do wonder when the owner will decide to swap out the dark dingy rug for something more refreshing. The decore is outdated and feels conflicting between western and Italian. It's clear to me the passion and the seasoning are long gone from this joint. read more

The service was extremely slow though the waitress was very nice. I had shrimp scampi and split it was somebody. There were a total of eight shrimp in the whole shrimp scampi. The pasta was way overcooked to the point that it was inedible. Our appetizer arrived at the same time I as our meal though I asked about a few times. We asked for dressing on the side on our salads and got our salads and the dressing about 10 minutes later. I had a similar experience to this a while ago but thought I would give Brick oven another try. I think this visit will be my last to that restaurant. read more

Ate there several times because it was next door to the Crowne Plaza where I was attending a conference. Great service, friendly servers, and nice atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable for both lunch and dinner. The food varied and overall was pretty good. The cafe salad was very good! The pizzas were just okay. Check out their website for coupons. I would definitely recommend eating here vs. the hotel restaurant if you don't have the time or energy to venture to the French Quarter. read more

The restaurant is in a great location! The service was great! The entrees were delicious, lasagna and cheese pizza which was cooked in a brick oven!!! The dessert I had was delicious as well, the banana foster cheese cake!!! The prices were kinda high. Most places that have kid's menus usually don't charge for the drink but they do. The decor was of Italian descent as well as the music. I would recommend this restaurant!!! read more

The fettuccine with scampi was great, as was the Brick Oven salad... The three pasta dishes we ordered with tomato sauce were not great. The sauce's inadequacies were twofold: poor quality, tinny tomatoes and aggressive over-cooking that reduced the sauce into an overbearing bitter paste. The meatballs were also disappointing, pasty and poorly seasoned. read more

First off, this place has a much fancier decor than the outside let's you on to. However, don't feel the need to dress up to visit. We had a little bit of a wait, which was no problem. If there is a wait then it must be really good, right? Not sure...... Service was good, waitress was really courteous and friendly. She helped my friend out with the wine menu. They were out of bread, which was a big disappointment. I ordered the Brick Oven pizza and a small house salad. Their Italian dressing homemade and amazing, I strongly suggest trying it. The pizza fell flat, however. Nothing special about it. A nice crispy crust, but the middle was soft and floppy. Nothing really stuck out with the pizza. Plenty of sauce, but the sauce was not that great. With that being said, I do wish to return. They have a very large menu and would like to try one of their many pastas. read more

Tried this place on a whim, and really wish I had not. My friend and I arrived early for dinner on a Wednesday afternoon, and were treated with indifference, as if our presence was a nuisance. There was only one other table occupied. I ordered the Pasta Bolagnese and my friend ordered manicotti. I was shocked upon seeing the prices on the menu, but figured "hey, maybe there CAN be a restaurant in a strip mall that can justify charging these prices". I was wrong, partially. The pasta I ordered was very good, and was a huge portion. My friend's manicotti was a tiny portion, consisting of two pieces. We were out of bread immediately, and by the time we were able to request a second mini loaf, dinner was over. And for the price of the meal, there was no salad included. Really? $13 for pasta with meat sauce, and no salad? And the bathroom was gross. read more

Food was good! Sad they only give you one basket of a couple pieces of bread before your meal because that is amazing! Service was okay our drinks were never empty for longer than a couple of minutes but he came with refills each time. A must restaurant to visit. The manager, Tony Mattio, makes you feel like you are VIP. The Mahi Mahi is to die for as is the filet mignon, calamari, and OMG the house dressing is to die for. Go here. Great food and service. Just be prepared to be wheeled out. The portions are just as big as they are delicious. The waitress we had, an older lady, was the best I've had in a long time. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. I'd go back just to speak with her. read more

Wife was wanting some boots, so after browsing Sylvester's we had a mighty hankering for some nourishment. BOC was on the way home, so we decided to stop in. The parking situation is kinda tough . But since I have a small car, I was able to negotiate the parking lot and find a space. I don't know if we had driven my wife's behemoth that we could have found a place. On to the food: I really enjoyed their brick oven pizza. Crispy and flavorful. Paired with a domestic draft, Uh YUM. Wife had the brick oven chicken. She said it was good but not great. Overall, the service was acceptable, the parking is an issue but the food was good enough that we will be back. read more
