I went with my family a few days ago. 5 stars for ambiance and service. 2 stars for the pizza and price. On the 4 cheese pizza, the only cheese I could taste was gorgonzola. It was overpowering on the short rib pizza too. I like gorgonzola in small amounts but I wasn't expecting it to completely overwhelm the palate like that. None of us finished our meal and the leftovers are untouched. I guess I would go back for drinks but based on the food we were all really disappointed. read more

Swung by this place after a long night out at Longwood Gardens on our way back to the city. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Food was solid, beverage was solid. They have a kids menu, you just have to ask. The only dish that we didn't enjoy was the buffalo mac and cheese. All other dishes were great - from the octopus, to the short rib grilled cheese and burger. read more

The food isn't as good as it used to be since they redecorated the Media location. During a slow lunch on a Saturday afternoon our pizzas came out cold and sad. We were starving and ate most of them anyway but what a disaster! Drew S. may be correct in assuming they moved to a frozen-food model because the mozzarella showed no signs of browning on my wife's margarita and maybe it was freezer cold when it was put into their "brick oven." I'm not sure if they still have the brick oven because it's no longer visible behind the bar, which used to be part of the fun and allure of the old decor. They also removed the warm brick and wood undertones in favor of a scheme that looks like a First Watch diner. The server and hostess were excellent and extremely friendly! read more

Busy place filled with lots of people enjoying each other es company. Decor-loved interior, it's an old world modern industrial free with lots of cool accents. Bathrooms were very cool with copper tubing and nice decor. The vibe here is great and really makes you relax and feel at home. Service-8.5/10. Kid serving was pretty good but seemed like he had too many tables to serve because I had to for more water a few times. Food-the pretzels had great flavor but were too salty for my taste. Octopus app was just lacking flavor and to be honest I had just had the best octopus dish ever a couple weeks prior in Chicago. What made me give them 4 stars were the Bison Sliders, they were fantastic!!! Patty's were nice and juicy full of flavor. Grilled onions and bacon jam/jelly made sliders work perfectly in your mouth. I would go back just for the sliders. read more

Really good stuff plus really good stuff plus more really good stuff on a big roll does NOT always equal a very good cheesesteak. We really liked Brick & Brew. Gina was fantastic. The roll was far too big for this cheesesteak. Minimally scoop most of the bread out of it. The charred vidalia onion, sauteed spinach and tomato jam were fantastic and probably worked together but I think it was just too many flavors. read more

Bad management but good food. Only eat fried pickles if you are ready to crap your pants. However, try at your own risk

I've been wanting to try Brick & Brew ever since the one in Media opened and I'm so happy we were finally able to stop in on a Friday night! It was fairly crowded when we arrived and we did not have a reservation, but we were able to be seated on the enclosed deck. There was one space heater for the small area and it was enough to keep us warm. Our server was attentive and friendly the entire night, which is always a plus! All of the proper COVID precautions were in place, if you look for that sort of thing. We started off with two apps from their specials that night - Capone Wings and Carnitas Nachos. The server described the sauce for the wings as a habanero/pineapple/mango sauce, but it was very lacking in the spice department. The sauce was actually overall pretty bland, but the quality of the wing itself was sooo solid aka fall off the bone tender. I would probably get the wings again just with a different sauce. Despite the let down of the wing sauce, the Carnitas Nachos were amazing and totally made up for it! They were an ideal size for 2 very hungry people and the chip-to-topping ratio was perfect. We finished off the night with a Margherita Pizza. It was good (when is pizza not good??), but I would probably go with something else next time. I will 100% be coming back to visit and try more things on the menu. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lively yet cozy, and it is somewhere I can enjoy multiple drinks and apps for a few hours. read more

Not the greatest since they "reopened". Not a busy Saturday afternoon, I ordered a wine (1st glass came with a shade of lipstick- I wasn't wearing lipstick: ( Bar wasn't very crowded, although I needed to ask staff to order food after 15 min. When "special" catfish came on a bed of tasteless sausage gravy and tater tots cooked in old oil - I asked to take it to go after a few bites. I was out of there within 45 min. Never was I asked if I needed anything, etc etc because they simply didn't care. Too bad - so very sad! read more

I come to Media every Thursday night with my daughter for an appointment. Tonight we decided to make an evening of it and have dinner. I did a yelp search and found Brick and Brew. The place is cute and spacious with a nice outside porch. Our server suggested we order "family style" so that's what we did. French fries with cheese and prosciutto, beet salad and Mac n cheese topped with beef short ribs. The French fries were good and although I enjoy crispy prosciutto, I felt it was a bit over cooked. Good flavor, however. The beet salad was tasty. The Mac n cheese was a bit disappointing. The short ribs that were on top were delicious but we (my daughter and I) could not taste a bit of cheese. The noodles were dry. My kid decided to leave it so we could pack it up and take it home so we could "add the cheese" when we reheated it and we discovered upon emptying the contents into the take -home container that the cheese was at the bottom of the dish. It would have been optimal had the cheese been mixed in (I included a photo of the bottom of the pan after we emptied the dish into the container). This is a cool place and I give four stars for service, a delicious Manhattan, beet salad and French fries. If the cheese were to show up in the Mac n cheese that would have made things even better. read more

Last night we had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We went early before a concert hoping to have a decent beer and some light fare. Both beers (ordered two different kinds) tasted terrible- not sure if it was the taps, or what. When mentioning to the waitress to make the bartender aware, there was no apology or explanation. She seemed annoyed. The overall service was awful especially since we were one of about 2-3 tables and the servers were just standing around on their phones. The food was mediocre; nothing special. read more

I started with a Capone cocktail ($12) (slightly spicy drink with tequila) which I quite enjoyed. Partner and I selected Crab Cake Sandwich w/Fries ($19) and Shrimp and Grits ($19) off the specials menu. Crab cake was very good, fries were outstanding (as usual). Shrimp and Grits was disappointing as it came with a brown sauce which I wouldn't have expected. All other Shrimp & Grits I've eaten or made are very cheesy and light looking--no brown sauce. Suggest that prices be added to the special menu so one needn't have to ask the server. When there are no prices I always worry that the cost for a special dish will be 2x the price of other regular dishes at a restaurant. Not being shy, we asked our server for the prices. The price of the specials, it turned out, were totally on par with the rest of the menu so especially unsure why the prices weren't listed. Service from Emma was very good indeed! read more

SO GOOOOOOOD. I couldn't decide what to get but I feel like you can't go wrong? My salad was insanely refreshing, would go back and get the flatbread next time. Decent service but the food made it worth it for sure read more

My first visit to this restaurant. Great service! Our server was very friendly and attentive. I appreciate how quickly and efficiently she worked with us. The menu was great but limited on the vegetarian options. However, I did find something very delicious to eat. It was a little noisy with an interesting playlist going on. The inside was Al decorated up for Christmas and quite cheery. read more

Brick & Brew - Old Fashion - Gastropubs Near Me - Media, Pennsylvania

I ordered the spicy sausage flatbread and the fried chicken sandwich. The spicy sausage flatbread is somewhere between a large cracker-with-toppings and a pizza. The dough is very thin. Because it's not of uniform toppingness nor thickness, it gets cooked more crispy in some spots than others. This is unacceptable. The parts of the flatbread that were covered in sausage, cheese, fennel, and peppers were quite well seasoned and complex in their spicy, herbaceous, and savory cheesiness. Unfortunately there was not enough of that going on in the flatbread. The fried chicken sandwich was the way to go here. The sandwich is stuffed with massive amounts of juicy, well-brined fried chicken. The meat is super juicy and tender inside, and ultra crispy on the edges. The bun is soft and buttery brioche. Inside are more goodies like slaw and cheese (if I recall correctly). read more

Food very salty. Crab cake sliders watery , had very little crab in it. Limp fries. Slow service

What a cool spot! Great whiskey selection and great food. The server was kind and helpful for our first visit. We ordered a few things to get a food sample of the options and everything was very good. The flatbread was great, the wings incredibly juicy, the sandwich flavorful. I have no bad things to say about this place. Even the price point was reasonable. read more

My husband and I had some time to kill while visiting Media for a wedding. We started walking down State Street and stumbled into Brick & Brew and were so glad we did! They had all the necessary COVID precautions (masks on, every other table seated, etc.), and sat us inside next to the window. I am a sucker for mac and cheese, so I was immediately drawn to the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and my husband (the most basic eater) chose the fried chicken sandwich and fries. It's pretty rare that we both finish our meals, but our plates were completely clean within minutes. Come to find out, our friends are frequent diners at Brick & Brew and just happen to love the buffalo chicken mac as well. Next time we're back in town, that cheesy goodness is on my hit list! read more

Got the Mediterranean wrap. Chicken was dry. Service was okay, they missed one of our orders and they didn't have enough cutlery.

This will be short, since my time here was limited to a few drinks and some wings. However, i will say i love the urban vibe, people mix and social "feel". Pretty decent if somewhat limited draft list. The buffalo wings were better than the habanero peanut butter ( not enough habanero IMHO)-but both heavy and generous. Interesting menu and specials, as well as a good craft cocktail list. Que Arnold voice: "i'llll beee baccckkkk" read more

My wife and I frequent this establishment once a week to go on a date to ourselves, away from school bags full of toys, juice, and iPads. The specials are always interesting and worth the visit alone. They employ a tremendous staff that is courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. Special shout out to Felicia, the bartender. We had a night out not too long ago, and she made us a few drinks that were either off menu or had been on the menu in the past - as well as something completely of her own creativity. She has a talent for that and made our night extra special. read more

We recently dined at Brick and Brew after getting rave reviews from friends. First let me say this location in Media is perfect. Downtown vibe in the burbs, it's trendy and the decor is nice. I have a few issues though with our experience. First is the service. We were seated almost immediately inside by the open kitchen. It took roughly 10 minutes before we were greeted. Our server did apologize because he didn't know it was his table. He walked by us at least 15 times though. Anyway, let's get to the food. We started with the mussels. Easily forgettable. First off, half of them were still closed. Which means, they were not ready. Secondly, the sauce fell flat. There wasn't much flavor to it, there were barely any Fresno's and no corn at all. My wife really enjoyed her salad. She loved the vinaigrette. The fruit was nicely grilled and everything was fresh. I went with the burger. The best part of it was the fries. There is nothing like a hand cut fry. They were perfect. The burger again was forgettable. It's not on the menu and was a special. The burger was overcooked, the bun fell apart. The bacon was good and the burger blend was nice. I didn't care for the sauce. I also would have liked some tomato and lettuce to cut through the heaviness. At $16 it really wasn't worth it. I would be willing to give it another shot, maybe for the pizza? 2 stars read more

Beautiful, something health conscious for everyone! Food is nicely packaged and nicely prepared made.

I got here on a Friday and this place doesn't disappoint. I ordered Marilyn Monroe ( was fabulous), house pineapple infused margarita ( was sugary but was good). Also ordered wings with hot brown butter sauce ( ''tis was soooo good, I can't explain), baja flatbread ( was giving me a feeling of having a burrito, Ioved it). My fiancé ordered a couple of IPA and he said they were great too. We ordered bread pudding for dessert (he loved it, it had hints of cinnamon that I didn't enjoy, but I'm sure others would love it). It just get a bit too crowded, barely space between tables, hard to walk around as it gets super packed. I'd suggest to get here, put your name at reception and go out to wait while having a drink( to wait until you receive the text that the table is ready). read more

Went to the media location last night with a few girlfriends. We will definitely be back! The drinks are top quality and delicious! And the food....so incredible! We had the hummus platter to start. The rosemary bread and roasted vegetables were amazing! I had the short rib pizza, and my friends had the margharita pizza and the fried chicken. Everything was amazing. So flavorful. We were also gifted an order of their loaded fries because another table didn't want them. So delicious! But my face really lit up when dessert came. Caramel Beignets. Literally melted in your mouth! Our server was fantastic as well! 5 stars!! read more

My wife and I have been here many times. We especially like it during the warmer weather when there is outdoor seating.

I dined here on a Wednesday evening. Pretty busy for midweek, so I can only imagine what the weekends are. The food was great. I had the whiskey sour ( which I think was the best I have had in a long time) the deviled eggs ( 5 stars) and the Hot dog which was recommended to me ( another 5 stars). The restaurant is noisy, but not so noisy you can hear yourself. The decor is top notch. However....... That main door is loud when people open it. Only downside. read more

On line the menu is interesting. In person we found the food selection a little limited but an extensive drink selection. Definitely a place to meet up and catch up with friends but a little too noisy for a date. I ordered the one of the specials, cauliflower dip, which was an interesting blend of goat cheese and cauliflower paired with fried plantains. The fries were great with the dip as well. I liked the pork belly burnt ends that was sweetened by the maple syrup served over grits with an egg on top. This dish was a starter but hearty enough for a small meal. read more

The specials at Brick and Brew are truly that. Special. Had the "Hoagie" Wings with Italian seasoning and balsamic drizzle and then Mikey's Cheesesteak which was one of the best sandwiches ice ever had in my life. This place checks all the boxes. Innovative and creative staple bar food that is pushing the limits but so delicious and consistent that you're taking zero chances trying something out of your wheelhouse. I have been to the Havertown location plenty of times so I already know what to expect coming from their kitchen. So right off the bat I have to say I clearly enjoy this location better than the one in Havertown. Why do I enjoy this location better? Clearly it is SPACE!! You can actually breath in here, rather than that cramped feeling in Havertown. Yes they are busy, yes they have some pretty good crafts along with the wine selections, down to that well concocted cocktail. The libation gods would definitely approve. Brick and Brew you did it right with this location in Media , plus I remember this being the old Plumstead Inn back in the day. To tell you the truth it is like night and day from the old Plumstead, a fresh take to it. Before it was closed up making kind of stale inside, well Brick and Brew they opened up the front where you can see what's happening on State St. The service was a little spotty , but then again these guys were stacked and packed when we arrived for our late to early dinner. Nothing wrong with that, that is a good sign when you are trying to accommodate to everyone wanting a pie and a craft! Quick run down of what we enjoyed that I think you should give it a go. Appetizer: *Fried Pickles~ Much better over here, plus get them cooked a little longer. Ask for it extra crispy with that chipolte mayo for your dipping pleasure. *Stuffed Pineapple~ OH MY this is a must get ! Just picture this stuffed with a hickory pulled pork , house made bbq sauce, with an avocado salsa mingling in between, along with a cojita cheese resting over top. Shh I know ! Pizza: All of these were made properly, having that Neapolitan style to it with that perfect crust , that has been slightly charred *Short Rib~ WINNER right here! A pie that had short rib on it you know it's gonna be banging with the , gorgonzola, mozzarella, and caramelized onion all up on it! *Pulled Pork~ It is basically a breakfast pizza... with a twist. Obviously pulled pork, their house bbq sauce, fingerling potatoes, a fontina cheese, with an egg over easy laying over top. Right. I know what you're thinking, whats up with that egg thing? Its ok, nothing to write home about. *Margherita~ Your classic pie with that well known San Marzanno tomatoes, tomato sauce, mozzarella ,and basil. In all I prefer the Media Brick and Brew over the Havertown location, if I were to return. Solid 3.5 so I'll be generous and go with a 4 count. read more

The food here is really quite delicious. It's also priced fairly too. I think it's a great bar spot to come with friends and pick at shareable food. I'm giving it four stars because I think the portion of carbs is too heavy in the dishes. Personally, I'd prefer higher prices with a better ratio of protein to carbs. read more

Maybe we caught this place on a bad day, but our experience was really not great relative to the food. We came in for lunch on a Saturday. The staff was great, but everything we ordered was overly greasy. Everyone in my group typically loves fried pickles, but ours were so greasy that we barely touched them. You don't taste any pickle....just grease. They are sliced paper thin, which doesn't help. We went with pizza's thinking we couldn't go wrong in that category, but they were both so greasy that we had to ask for more napkins to soak up the pools on the cheese. The location and service is great, but we probably won't be back for the food. read more
