Holy Mary Mother of Brick & Brew - THANK YOU! When we first came here, we were house hunting in this new land and craving some wings, not really expecting anything special. This was right during the peak of the pandemic when indoor dining was not an option so we ordered some food and then ate it in our car before going along on our house hunting endeavor. We thought we'd stumbled into the restaurant, down some rabbit hole to narnia, and were stuck in some euphoric abyss of fried food bliss. Over the past 8 months we've been to this place at least once a month, constantly bringing new guests and visitors with us as we RAVE about the food and variety at this place. From pizza to steamers to stuffed shrimp to their french fries! They've got live music, attentive staff, and a great drink selection. For the most part everyone we've encountered here is chill and pleasant to be around. Hands down, this is one of my favorite places in the area and NO I was not paid for this review - they wholeheartedly deserve this praise and you should check this spot out regardless of what type of food or drink you're craving. Here's the deal: this review is primarily based on ordering takeout. Although I have sat down once for dinner! Every time I've ordered the place is very busy with couples and/or families. We were excited to try this place since the reviews seem so positive.. Our first and last visit here. We ordered a pizza and the cheeseburger sliders. The pie was was just ordinary and lacked flavor. The sliders were tiny flat obviously frozen patties served on stale buns. We thought pickles would make them better but they were out of pickles go figure. Brick & Brew has some incredible food and I would say one of the better restaurants in their area. The service is pretty solid with quick and patient waiters and waitresses. The pricing isn't awful not too expensive to have a high quality lunch or dinner while knowing you are getting the worth of what you paid. Ordered dinner this past Saturday. Called in at 6:55 to order a pretzel, steak sandwich and quesadilla to be picked up. The girl taking my order gave a pickup time of "15-20 mins". I head to the restaurant about 15mins later and am told it isn't ready yet. No big deal, I knew I was early and it was a busy Saturday night, I have no problem waiting a little longer. Some time goes by and I ask about how much longer it would be. The girl at the counter doesn't have an answer. She goes back and forth to the kitchen several times and never gives me any kind of update. Ok, no big deal - I'll continue to wait. This is our first time ordering from here and we were excited to try it. I go to wait outside a while. Some more time passes before I ask the girl again about the status of my order. Again, she can't tell me how much longer it would be. She finally tells me "just a couple more minutes." 30 minutes go by. I ask her once again how much longer. She says "they're wrapping it up now". About another 15 minutes go by and I have had enough. I ask another member of the staff for my money back since I had paid as soon as I got in. Finally, as the girl is processing my refund, my food is brought out. At no point during the over an hour of me waiting at the counter for my food did any member of the staff ask if I needed anything or try to find out what was going on with my order. No manager came over to offer any kind of compensation or explanation. Every member of the staff upstairs walked by me probably 20+ times each like I was invisible. I give a lot of leeway to restaurants when it's obvious that they're busy, but having worked for years in the food service industry myself, this was inexcusable. The steak sandwich was dry and the pretzel tasted like it has been microwaved from frozen. Take your business elsewhere because this place clearly does not value your time or money, and you will not be getting quality food worthy of either. read more

Food was very good-I got the Red Red Vine pizza with prosciutto. My biggest complaint was that the service was very bad. Our waitress was not kind, actually pretty rude. She was snarky from the start. We asked for water and she never brought it and gave us a whole lot of attitude. We then went down to check out the bar scene and my friend and I grabbed a drink while my other friends waited at a table. They were still deciding if they wanted to get drinks and a waitress came up to them and said "if you don't order drinks I can't have to taking up a table" but we bought food, they were still deciding and several of us got a drink. The bartender also charged my card and never brought my drink so I had to ask which took awhile. Overall, kindness counts and they weren't. Bus boys were great!! read more

First I started with the Nachos Brick N Brew and even though I thought they could have used some tomato's, more onions or scallions, I think they were amazing. A great twist to buffalo chicken meals. Well done Chef. As for my entree, I had the Salmon New Orleans which was blackened and topped with baby shrimp that were tossed in a Cajun cream sauce, then finished with a touch of pico de gallo and served over a creamy risotto that was cooked to perfection. 5 stars in this critics opinion. Went to Brick and Brew, Saturday June 4th. What a fantastic experience. My family of 4 went during prime-time dinner time, and were sat right away. We ordered a dozen wings for the table as an app, with the garlic parm sauce. What a delicious bite of food these were. It was a great mixture of drums and flats and the wings were properly coated not swimming in sauce. The sauce itself was fantastic and was a combination of sweet, salty and a little spicy. As someone who was designated driving, I ordered a Heineken zero and it was ice cold, score to having decent non-alcoholic options for the drivers. My entrée was the hamburger sliders app as my entrée and it was perfect. The burgers were cooked to perfection, which is difficult to nail the temperature as they are small burgers. I did request to have added lettuce tomato and onions to the sliders and it added a nice crunch. Next time I am on route 23, I will be back. Mango read more

First we get seated by an exceptionally pleasant waitress who gives us a bottle of cold water and takes our drink order. The wife's drink took a little long because they make them at the bar downstairs (only slight negative). Then we ordered The fried calamari appetizer is probably enough for 4 people and at right around 10 bucks, a great deal. For the lunch, my wife ordered linguini puttanesca and also got a cup of Italian wedding soup with it, it looked amazing and huge for $13.95. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and asked them to grill the chicken not fry it, no problem. The sandwich was huge, I ate half and it must have had over a half a pound of chicken on it. I usually go in on the days that Sue is working but it was my son's birthday and we decided to celebrate today and go in we're about seven of us, there were two bartenders possible third loader and the service was the worst I've had in a while bartenders were not attentive I had to go up to the bar to ask for my drinks took a long time to come over and ask if we were ready to order if we need anything checked on us at all and the bar wasn't even that busy, I've been a bartender for 20 years and I know how to serve the public and this was not the way. Sue is probably the most amazing bartender a diamond the best thing they have there in that place she can attend the whole bar full of people and still be attentive so I will no longer be coming unless Sue is there because the other bartenders are sorely lacking in service skills they paid attention to whoever they wanted to pay attention to as far as patrons were concerned and disregarded just simple steps of service I would not recommend going there unless Sue is there. read more

Last night, my husband and me tried Brick & Brew for the first time and we can't state enough how amazing our entire experience was. From the time we walked into the restaurant, to our table choice, friendly staff, efficiency, food, etc.., we had a blast. We started with some wings and the Brick & Brew salad, which were both delicious. We ended up sharing a bar pie (we got the BBQ chicken pie) as well, which tasted fabulous. The bar pies are all 12" personal pies and thin-crust, which is my absolute favorite. We also decided to try the Nutella pie for dessert and it was like eating S'mores. We didn't order alcoholic drinks, but they do have a full-service bar area downstairs, which is a nice way to separate those who want more of a family-friendly atmosphere upstairs. For an area notorious for the same type of pizzerias and mainly fast-food joints, this place adds such a nice change to Sussex County. Bottom line, the food is amazing and there's something for everyone on the menu. Such a positive experience overall. We will definitely be back soon! read more

This is a review for takeout. We ordered the Chicken Arrabiata with a side salad and the Brick Brew Ribeye with onion rings and clam chowder. My boyfriend really liked the chicken, but the pasta that it came with was not great. The ribeye was cooked well and the onion rings were amazing--great breading and still crispy even after sitting in the takeout container for 20+ minutes. The clam chowder was super disappointing--we didn't find a single piece of clam in the whole container and the flavor of the soup was pretty bland. Overall, decent pub food and huge portions, but I doubt we'd go out of our way to come back. read more
