Wonderful cozy find! Best breakfast-for-dinner ever…read more We stumbled upon this absolute gem on a freezing, rainy evening after an outdoor event, just looking for a warm bite to eat around dinner time. My partner found this spot while searching nearby, and oh how happy I am that he did! I had been craving blueberry pancakes for days and was so excited to have a rare breakfast-for-dinner treat. From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the place completely melted the cold away. We were greeted by a wonderful, incredibly kind waitress, and the atmosphere inside was just so cozy and comforting. There was a lovely mix of people having their supper, including a sweet family of seven eating dinner together at the table next to us. It just had that perfect, welcoming community feel. The menu was seriously impressive. My other half ordered the southern chicken sausage gravy dinner, and it was phenomenal! I got my blueberry pancakes- my absolute favorite - and they completely exceeded expectations. I also tried the lentil soup, which was packed with flavor. Honestly, I don't think you could have a bad meal here if you tried. Our waitress (the same lovely woman who greeted us) chatted with us for a bit and was just so delightful and attentive. I even spotted a rice pudding with strawberries and whipped cream on the dessert menu that looked right up my alley, but between my pancakes and stealing a few delicious bites of the chicken dinner, I was far too full this time around! As we left, I noticed the pretty flowers and the outdoor picnic tables. I'm sure this place absolutely hops on weekend mornings, but it was the perfect rainy evening escape for us. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality-we are officially adding this to our regular rotation when we are in the area.

A menu made up of heavenly comfort food from fried chicken, to meatloaf and gravy, burgers, fries, and an unbelievable assortment of pies baked in house. My girlfriend and I came here for lunch on a Sunday in January after hiking for three hours in 25 degree weather at nearby High Point State Park. It was incredibly satisfying to slide into a booth and immediately be enveloped in the warmth and hospitality of this restaurant after such a cold and tiring morning. We both got the meatloaf platter which was on special. It came with two slices of meatloaf smothered in gravy, two slices of homemade bread smothered in butter, and three sides: fries, cole slaw and corn. It was hearty and delicious. Our waitress was far and away one of the kindest and friendliest people I've ever met. She made our experience a thousand times better. As others have mentioned, cash only so be prepared! I loved this restaurant and highly recommend it to others!

I had been there twice now and although the 2 young ladies behind the counter are nice, I can't recommend the bagels. They are huge but not light and fluffy, but doughy and too chewy, kind of gummy. I went there to eat with a friend recently and it was probably about 92 degrees outside and they were the only business with the door open! Yes, they had a working AC but the owner doesn't want to put it on. They have ceiling fans, but the staff was not allowed to turn them on! Gee, so much for the customers! Other people were asking as well and of course who would want to eat there? We had salads, which were a decent size and nice presentation, but I had about 50 mini olives on mine (way too much) and guess what? They all had pits! And many were rotten. I'm guessing they cut corners by choosing olives with pits, but that's bad for customers and they were bad quality. Lastly, before we were even out the door - with no more customers - the owner/manager came out with a large industrial can and sprayer of pesticide treatment, spraying around the edges of the floors.
