Don't waste your money the bagels are horrible. Making bagels is an Art if you don't know how to do it you should find a different career. I just got 10 bagels, the pumpernickels were flat and hard overcooked, the everything was very doughy on the inside.. Every bagel was flat and smaller than I've seen from other locations. $1.25 a bagel is not worth it. I'm not sure where to begin, I've been to this place a couple of times already and it's just the way this place is ran it seems. Everyone seems to have a bad attitude, and the customer service is pretty crappy from several employees of the place. It seems like they're bothered by customers coming in to place orders. The food is overpriced at $18.xx for 2 turkey egg and cheese bagels and a Yoo-hoo! And when you ask for light salt, pepper and ketchup. My tongue and throat shouldn't burn from the amount of salt and pepper on certain parts of my sandwich. Seems like this is one of the only bagel shops in town, which explains how it's still in business, but I will not be coming back here! Don't like how they cook the taylor ham and bacon on the grill that would be used for burgers, chicken or anything that would need to be cooked on a grill. The taylor ham and bacon should be cooked on the flat top. They have a low choice in types of cream cheese flavors. Had a deli sandwich made here and that was not good. Coffee made here is very good. Went back again today for the first time in quite a while. The nasty signs are gone, so that's a step in the right direction. However, all the people who work there (mostly young girls who look like they just rolled out of bed in their sweats and came in to work without showering) STILL don't wear any gloves while prepping the food. I saw them handle raw tomatoes, push hot food onto bagels with their fingers, and handle MONEY (yuck!) all in the same transaction, all with bare hands, and without a glove present. Once I saw this, I left. The place is always packed on Sunday mornings, so I guess most people don't notice/care about these issues. And the manager obviously doesn't because of that. WOW---someone should alert the owners that they are getting killed with these reviews. Have everyone wash their hands and wear gloves. Take a good course in hygiene and customer service. You food might be good, but you are losing customers for no good reason. It is easier to KEEP customers happy than to constantly have to find new customers. I get their bagels every day from another deli, Short Stop on Rt. 23. The bagels are inconsistent. One day, they're dark and crispy (the way I like them), the next, they're white and anemic looking. I picked up some sandwiches there recently and they were terrible. I should have turned around and left when they said they didn't know what an Italian sub was. Employees need to wear gloves as the other reviewer mentioned! They touch the cash register, money, and other various food items without washing or changing gloves. Actually she only wore one glove but then I watched as the employee helping me wiped her sniffly nose up her hand and wrist then continue making my food with that ungloved hand. I always look forward to going to Lox Stocked whenever I'm back in town. The staff is nice (mostly every time) and bagels are still pretty good. But I am concerned over the cleanliness of the place. For as how busy they are I can't believe they can't clean or update the place. The bathroom is worse than any gas station bathroom I've seen. It is vey dusty in the place too. The employees touch money and food. The deli case looks stagnant and product looks like it doesn't move well. The place desolately needs a deep cleaning and some facial fixes but overall it's a good "hometown" place. read more

Horribly inconvenient. I get that you don't want to pay fees, but at least offer a way for customers who are in a time crunch and may not have enough cash on them to pay. It's local to me, and bagels are usually pretty good, btaff leaves a lot to be desired. I just got over-charged almost $3 on a $9.00 order. Mostly young girls working there, especially on weekends when it's busy. They seem more interested in socializing than working, if it's not really busy. Ok, I live in oak ridge and this is the only close place for a bagel (which I agree with the other reviews, it's completely inconsistent. And, no one should eat a stale bagel!) My biggest complaint is every time my order is wrong. They never put the right thing on the right bagel. The saddest thing, is that they right it down and still mess it up. I ordered a tray of bagels and cream cheese for my son's school as a Christmas gift for his teachers. I was informed by the woman who answered the phone that for every cut that I have her make in each bagel, I will be charged $1/dozen. I had the bagels sliced and then cut in half so she added $2/dozen. Whatever. Then add a million dollars for the three small tubs of cream cheese I also ordered. The woman was incredibly rude on the phone when I placed the order. I asked if anyone would be available to help me carry the tray to the car since I have a baby; the answer was no. The morning of the pick up I asked for my pre-ordered tray of bagels and the girl behind the counter gave me a bag of bagels. I told her that my order was supposed to be a on tray and the rude woman heard and said, "You mean a platter; there's a difference." Oh, really? A tray = bag, but a platter = tray? Got it. There were no knives, napkins, etc. in the TRAY and I wasn't offered any. I struggled to carry the tray and my baby to the car. Now I'm reading reviews about how unsanitary the place is. Great, I probably gave the teachers at my kid's school salmonella. "Merry Christmas, thanks for taking such great care of my son, here are some dirty bagels; use your fingers to apply cream cheese."
