They also practiced incredible patience with the 3 dogs we had at with us - 2 of which reacted to every dog that passed by us...so I'm grateful. The indoor and original patio seating seemed kind of small. However, they turned their parking lot into a larger outdoor seating area...which has it's drawbacks. For one, parking is most likely to be street parking out front, which is difficult to snag unless you're lucky. Parking in the alleyway is doable if you know where to go. My group and I had a good time there. The alcohol selection was nice. I ordered the shrimp po' boy and thought the shrimp was well cooked and a really good size. The bread was nice and soft, but the liquid from the coleslaw soaked the bread quite a bit. The fries seemed refried? I'm talking about fried once, left under heat lamp for a little too long, and then refried once someone orders. It was so crunchy that there wasn't any soft, squishy, potato-y goodness. I came on a day when it was quite windy and unfortunately my napkins kept flying off the table. No matter. What's important is the food! The apple pie cocktail $11 came first and was pretty tasty. Unfortunately that was the only item I really liked. I was pretty disappointed with the elote egg rolls - my assumption was that they'd be filled mostly with corn and some cheese but it was mostly cheese and a sprinkle of corn. For $14 I just didn't understand it. It also tasted bland. The spicy mayo did not add much flavor to the egg rolls at all. The fish and chips were okay. I also felt they were underwhelming for $23. We enjoyed this place from beginning to end. There is parking in the back for about 8 cars but there's also plenty of parking in the front and sides. We came in right before 4pm on a Saturday so it wasn't too busy at the time but the crowd started to come in around 5pm. We came with our dog since I had seen previous reviews that it was a dog friendly place and they were in fact super accommodating with our fur baby as soon as we arrived. They brought him a water bowl and turned on the air for us to keep him cool. The food was honestly delicious. We ordered the ahi tuna nachos, the lemon pepper wings, the grilled cheese and the chicken sandwich. Everything was tasty and not just for bar food, overall the food all had a great taste. My partner tried a couple of the beers and he enjoyed both. I got the strawberry lemonade and it was perfect, not too sweet not too sour. The place itself was open and spacious, plenty of coverage from the sun in the outside area and they also have indoor seating. They have street and back parking. Came on a Saturday for lunch. There's seating on the inside and outdoor patio. The inside is small, probably with 5 tables or so. I was excited to finally try this place - it's been on my list for a while now. The parking is kind of rough as it's located on a busier street front, however if you get lucky you can find parking in the back through an alley. The place is beautiful as it's mostly outdoor seating, it's a great place to have lunch with a refreshing drink. Upon arriving, we were a little, confused, whether or not, we had to go to the host stand, so we kind of stood there, with a confused look on our face until somebody welcomed us to grab a table where available. As we sat down, one of the servers brought us water almost immediately, which was very nice. The menu is a QR code and has a good selection of reasonable lunch items. Pricing for each dish ranges between $12-$26 so it's not too bad. They also have some alcoholic beverages that are rather refreshing and a pretty decent strawberry lemonade. I personally ordered the bang bang shrimp since I didn't really want to eat too much. I must say this tasted very close to honey, walnut shrimp, and do wish there was a little bit more of a kick. It was very good, but not really what I would call bang bang shrimp. My cousin, which I went with ordered the truffle grilled cheese, I did get to try a bite out of it, it's nothing you can't make at home. Rating: Food (from what we got): 6/10 Service: 8.5/10 Ambiance: 9.5/10 I may come back here since this is one of the better places to eat in Monterey Park, but definitely not on a hot summer day, since seating is mostly outdoor. read more

Went here for an early dinner on a Saturday and there was no wait for a party of two. I ordered the Hot Chix Sandwich and the Ahi Poke Nachos. AMAZING !! The HCS was mild and it had quite a kick (I don't do spicy well) but I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor profile and how crispy it was. I also really enjoyed the crunch on the french fries and they were as fresh as the tuna on the nachos. The portion of the nachos was way larger than expected, could probably feed a party of four, and there was a healthy ratio of tuna to chips. Expect a kick from this appetizer also because of the spicy mayo and jalapeños. For dessert, I had the Ferrero Rocher mousse cake for dessert and it was 5 out of 5 stars. The top or bottom layer was the outer shell of a Ferrero Rocher (the best part) and topped with whipped cream. When I come back, I am going to try the Elote Eggrolls. Those were also recommended. My server, Luis, was extremely friendly and patient. He checked in after receiving my food and was attentive with refills. I asked a bunch of questions and he genuinely cared about my experience. Seating is all outdoors from what I could see and the setting is so cute with the string lights and mini disco balls hanging! Seating is still outside and they no longer have TVs. I mainly came because I wanted to watch a game but glad I stayed to try out the food. It's hard to come by a spot like this in the 626 --what a gem! Due to the pandemic, they've expanded their parking lot into an outdoor dining area. Honestly, it's a blessing in disguise because the outdoor space has such an awesome vibe from the coverings to string lights to plants. The sandwich was pretty big and came with fries, but it's still pretty pricey for what it is. In addition, the spiciness was not spicy at all. When I told the waitress, she brought me a new drink only for me to find out she charged me for it when I paid. Overall, I'd come back for the ambiance and vibe here. I can confirm that this place is dog friendly--as soon as our server saw that we had our little dog with us, he made sure to bring over water for us, and a bowl for our dog. I will say, if you do bring a dog, obviously you will need to sit outside so wear clothes suitable for the outdoor temperature. Regardless there were still heating lamps during the winter. Oh also the cocktails here were delicious. Most soju cocktail places you go to just throw some sprite or yakult at it, but this place definitely focuses on creating a more craft cocktail vibe with their soju. Seen this place but haven't had a chance to try it yet till a few days ago. You got to find parking in the street but it isn't too bad to find one. Did not have to wait to be seated since they had a lot of open tables. Got the firehouse burger, hot chic sando, and a summer paradise drink. The firehouse burger was nice and perfectly cooked how I wanted which was great the fries on the other hand was cooked a little too much for me since many of them we very hard. The chicken sandwich we added some pickled onions to it which helped the sandwich we had a problem with the bun but they staff there fixed it for us. The summer paradise drink wasn't as strong as I would have liked it tasted more like juice with a little bit of soju in it so wish it was a bit stronger since it was a bit sweet. Staff was very nice though at times though some of the staff were not there but it was understandable since it did get busy. Ended our Sunday fun day in Monterey Park at a spot I hadn't heard of. We decided to try something new. We were greeted as soon as we walked up and seated right away. It looks like Brew transformed their parking lot to expand seating options. The ambiance was great. Plants all around, tables nice distances apart with table sizes to accommodate different size groups. As soon as we got seated, I could tell this is a spot I'd be coming back to many times. This may or may not have been influenced by the fact that they played Backstreet Boys (love their 90's playlist, hooray millennials) I had the blood orange soju spritzer - highly recommend! I use to frequent this area many years ago and it use to be a quiet stretch filled with restaurants that were half a century old. So when I dropped by Brew Kitchen Bar tonight I was surprised to see so many new establishments on the block and a new energy in the air. We were greeted by a waiter who couldn't be more friendly and he helped us to set up a large table in their patio and even had shims ready in his pockets to level the tables since we moved them around. We ordered a variety of foods from their happy hour menu as well as the regular menu and everything I tried was delicious. The highlight for me was the fish burger. So many places send it out with a piece of battered fish that gets soft and mushy by the third bite but this one stayed crunchy all the way to the end. The cabbage slaw, sweet tartar, chili relish, and red onions were the perfect accouterments for the fish. I wish fish taco places would also learn how to do it like this since the crunch is key. So we came in to have an early dinner this evening. Place is really cute. Very spacious patios with nice lighting but we did decide to dine inside as it was a lil on the chilly side. We started with the appetizers. We had the bang bang shrimp, spicy garlic wings and the elote egg rolls. All was so yummy but the shrimp was my favorite with a creamy sauce.
