Two main points - great food and easy online ordering system. The taste & quality of the food here is always so good and appealing. Seating is limited inside but we've yet to eat there in-person. We tried once pre-COVID and it was too busy, but since we've done takeout orders - like so many of us have become accustomed to. Their online order is very easy and you can pick up inside or request curbside. For the food, I would recommend following any of their social media accounts. By doing so, you will get a good idea of how it looks, plus you'll find yourself craving Brew Bird. Most recently, they posted a pic of their weekly special "Chicks N Queso Sandwich" and needless to say as soon as both my wife and I saw it, we knew we had to get it. I've eaten here my past four visits to Fargo and will continue to do so on future visits. It's the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. To start the breading is super crisp and fresh every time I've been here. Even when I got takeout to my hotel, it stayed fresh and crispy. This is amazing because the inside is always juicy. No dry white meat blues here. They keep things interesting too. The special sandwich each week brings a twist that makes you think "why hasn't someone done this before". This is only our second time here, I have no idea why we waited this long to come here in the first place. My wife just opened a massage business across the street so we came over and I tried the Fargo Hot sandwich and waffle fries! Off the hook delicious! The fresh fruit is fresh it must have been flown in from somewhere much warmer than Fargo! My second trip I tried the Clucking hot sandwich. It's warned in the menu that it's not for Scandinavians! Funny yet true, I have a high tolerance for heat and the Cluckin hot had my nose running. I'm sniffling right now as I type this. Not a good thing during a pandemic people probably think I'm sick. HOTTTT. It was my own doing however. I ordered today's special which was originally a fried chicken breast with fried brie, bacon, kettle chips and caramelized onion... I modified to nix the onion and have it glazed in their habanero sauce and I may or may not regret that decision later . The taste was spot on though, the chicken was tender and not dripping in oil and the homemade pickles were delicious. As far as the mashers go they were a brilliant combination of baby reds with skin on and a velvet textured chicken gravy. The other dish we ordered consisted of a cauliflower steak and a tart slaw to compliment the eastern influence. Finally we grabbed a variety of sauces to try. They have what they call a white bbq sauce that consists primarily of ranch mixed with a spice rub. Pretty good if you like ranch. I learned many things on my first visit to Brew Bird: 1) I'm a complete moron for not trying this place sooner 2) There is such a thing as a perfect chicken sandwich 3) Gochujang is the Korean word for "holy shit that's and incredible sauce" (ok, I might have have made that up) 4) Califlowers have wings 5) Nashville hot chicken CAN be improved upon And most incredibly: 6) It is possible to make brussel sprouts not only edible but actually incredible. I've been in Fargo many times since this place opened and for some reason I kept avoiding it. Big mistake. To make up for it I ate here 3 times in 2 days. There were just so many things on the menu that I wanted to try. A quick summary: Flyin' East Sandwich - this IS the perfect chicken sandwich. The chicken is so perfectly cooked that I'm sure that some sort of voodoo must be involved. Perfectly crispy yet incredibly tender. Then you add the sauce and......wow. I have no idea what Gochujang means, or how to pronounce it, but it's simply another sign that God exists and he (or she) wants us to be happy. Yes, single malt scotch and Brew Bird's gochujang sauce are obvious signs of a higher power. The slaw, the radish and aioli totally rounded this one out perfectly. The final bite was both amazing and heartbreaking. Gochujang glazed Tenders - the sandwich was so awesome that I had the tenders glazed in that incredible sauce the next day. They didn't disappoint. Again, the tenders are on another level. Same voodoo magic is obviously involved. This time, though, no bun or condiments to get in the way of that sauce. Also amazing. Fargo Hot Sandwich - dinner on the 2nd day was hard on me. I really wanted to stick with the Gochujang but I had to try one of the spicy options. I was thinking Hot as Cluck but went with the Fargo Hot. Prior to yesterday, a Nashville hot chicken sandwich I had in Tennessee was easily my all time favorite sandwich. But this one? This was a notch higher. Was it above the Flyin' East? I'm still not sure which one is my favorite. Rainbow slaw - this is a perfect compliment to the sandwiches. Fresh and light with awesome vinaigrette. Highly recommended. Cauliflower wings - the name sucked me in and I'm glad it did. Really, really tasty and perfectly cooked. OMG Sprouts - OK, here's where it got weird for me. I saw these on the menu on the first trip and I though no f'ing way. I HATE brussel sprouts. But I kept hearing people order them and they looked like they weren't revolted when eating them. This was new to me. So I HAD to try them with the chicken tenders. And guess what? They are definitely an "OMG" reaction inducer. I honestly still can't understand how it's possible. But these are incredible. Last but not least, the staff here is amazing. Helpful, friendly, efficient...everything you want without the obnoxiousness of fake hospitality. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but unfortunately it was one of the worst meals I've had in recent memory. Parking was impossible. Food was burnt. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, and it was borderline inedible. Sausage was very sweet, and was quite burnt but was turned so the non-burnt side was showing so it wasn't noticeable until I started eating. Biscuits were tiny and rock hard. Very small portions. Did not like the taste of the food at all. Tables were clearly not cleaned at all between customers. The one I sat at was COVERED in crumbs, fuzz, and was sticky EVERYWHERE. So gross!! We are in a pandemic!! Nowhere to stand in entryway so there was no way to safely social distance. Very confusing ordering and eating process as well. I had no clue what to do! My group happened upon this small restaurant after getting so to go beer from Drekker I decided to come here instead of the previously planned spot. Got the classic with waffle fries , chicken was juicy and yet the crust was crispy and perfectly seasoned. My waffle fries bathed in side cups of ranch and white bbq sauce. Beer had a super Mario theme from Fargo brewing company. A small food truck like camper thing was outside that specialized in mix drinks. Something you might see in Portland not Fargo , nevertheless the lunch was great. My cousin also paid and that made it even better. This was the best meal I had while visiting this city. read more

This is a super chill place downtown. The atmosphere is great, the service is superb, and the food is tasty. Brew Bird loves their chickens. Absolutely LOVE brew bird. I'm a fairly basic eater so if you're the type of person who just wants some ranch, chicken, and waffle fries - this is your place! The staff is super friendly and always helps out if a decision is needing to be made. Their food is incredibly good and affordable and I've never left unsatisfied! I stayed in Fargo for about 6 weeks and ate at Brew Bird three times. I am celiac and finding a restaurant that offers gluten free fried chicken was a welcome surprise! I got the spicy chicken sandwich twice and chicken tenders once. Both were amazing and came with French fries and a drink. I wish there was a Brew Bird down in Minneapolis! Brew bird is very good, but not Great. The ambiance is fun, and there is plenty of seating for their small space. Upon ordering they hand you a unique figurine to place at your table to identify your order which is kind of cool. But given that they just opened, the menu is limited. They have chicken tenders, (breaded or un-breaded) a selection of 4-5 sandwiches. And a few sides. Brew Bird also has a collection of unique house made sauces like white bbq, and Thai peanut (among others) which were good, but they suffer from a common plague of most "foodie" restaurants do, outside of their target demographic they fail to provide many options for the picky eaters that their desired crowd inevitably drags along with them. I had the Fargo Hot chicken sandwich which was very good. My semi-picky eater son had breaded strips and a side salad. He also liked his food but did remark that he wished they had regular bbq sauce or ranch to dip his strips in. All in, Brew Bird is worth a stop. Unless you are one of the aforementioned "picky eaters" you should enjoy your meal. read more

Fun Restaurant! We came into Fargo from Arizona and wanted something fun and local with our kids. We decided to share a bunch of chicken tenders with different sauces. My kids are picky/simple eaters so I figured ketchup, ranch and Sweet BBQ sauces for them. They of course loved all those but their favorites were the white BBQ and creamy buffalo. They also loved the Mac and cheese. My wife and I also liked the roasted corn jalapeño- it was very mild for us. We tried some sauces Gochujang glazed tenders and they were good too. Great chicken with really unusual flavor combinations for the specials. I had a key lime jerk chicken sandwich. It was spicy and tasty. My friend had a classic chicken sandwich that couldn't be beat. Chicken was fresh and crispy. Service was friendly and prompt. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. They serve beer and a variety of other beverages. There are nice outside tables. We were glad we found this place and had a really nice lunch there. We'll come back here for sure when we're hungry for chicken. read more

Just piling on to the chicken sandwich craze. This seemed to be the spot in Fargo to try. Remember this is relative to not just Fargo other places. A four for me because of a couple of things... We found parking in the itty bitty parking lot due to the very cute outdoor setup, walked inside, the decor inside was also cute but we were lost as to what to do.. so WE greeted the hostess and said had never been there before..*radio silence* And then we asked what would she recommend. She told us the menu was on the wall. *mouth drop* So we looked at the menu and decided on the Hot As Cluck Sandwich & Flyin' East Sandwich and for our sides we got the cauliflower wings and the OMG Brussel Sprouts. We also ended up getting a beer and a caramel apple mule. We found our table inside and waited. Even though it wasn't busy, the other lady there had no idea where people's food went (trophies are cute, but they really need a numbering system) and kept bring food to the wrong tables. The customer service was lack luster, the drinks were good, and the food was fantastic! The chicken sandwiches were perfectly crispy on the outside and super moist on the inside; the flavors definitely packed a punch, and left us talking about it a few days after. Service was fine, it's been a minute since I went but I remember it being set up a little funny. Couldn't explain exactly how. I got the second hottest sandwich (I love spicy food but was told the hottest is way too spicy by a buddy) and had a similar experience to my friend. Just pain. I'm sure the other sandwiches are good, likely my fault. Expected habaneros not ghost peppers lol. Probably have to give this place another chance and update my review whenever I get around to it. Great little hidden gem in fargo. The menu is very diverse but still focuses on the main star of the show, chicken. Seasoning and the combination was very tasty with a ample side of fries Unfortunately the chicken was over cooked. They serve the food on a metal tray covered in a very thin sheet of paper that when saturated with the sauce from their sandwich rips and sticks to your food. When I first drove by this place, my assumption was that "brew" = "beer" = definitely not gluten free. Imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered the whole menu is gluten-free!! And not only is the food gluten-free, but it is INCREDIBLE! We decided to start basic, and got the chicken strips, along with some fries, coleslaw and brussel sprouts. My 16yo said that next time she will get 3 sides of brussel sprouts for herself, and we had to fight her for a share of the one order we got. The chicken strips were flavorful, and the dipping sauces are delicious. This was a pandemic-era curbside pick-up situation, so the fries were a wee bit soggy but only because they had to hang out in a takeout box with the chicken for 20 minutes. As for the gluten-free part, both my kids (who aren't gf) said, "Mom, are you sure this stuff is gluten-free? It doesn't taste like it." So there you have it. I grew up in Fargo-Moorhead, but now live in St. Paul. We come back a few times every year, and have a list of "must-visit" eateries and shops. Brew Bird has catapulted to the top of places we'll be prioritizing for our next trip to F-M! read more

Not impressed. Ordered from their website about an hour before I would be picking up during Coronavirus lockdown, asked to pick up my food at 4:40 on a Friday. When I arrived at EXACTLY 4:40, a woman who looked like a stoner came to my truck and asked "Are you the missing food from earlier?" And I was like "No," and she said, "Oh, they told me it was a Dodge," then said, "I'll be right back." Missing food from earlier? Not a good omen. Fifteen minutes later she comes out with our food and I take it home. My wife said her Buffalo Chicken sandwich was "Ok," but she didnt understand why people were hyping Brew Bird. My Fargo Hot sandwich was supposed to have "white bbq" sauce on it but it had red bbq sauce on it, and it was insanely spicy... I questioned whether someone had put the wrong sauce on it... I can't overstate how blessed Fargo is to have Brew Bird and all the excellent food it has to offer. The fried chicken is outrageously delicious, even besting our destination spots in Minneapolis-St. Paul and beyond. The sauce bar is a nice addition and allows for plenty of customization and experimentation. We enjoyed the Breakfast Sandwich, the Buff Bird sandwich, the crispy 3pc tenders, and the jalapeño popper corn (life-changing). They were out of waffle batter, but we will definitely be back to try the chicken & waffles as well as the sweet potato waffle fries. Keep up the brilliant work, Brew Bird team! read more

I first ate here over a year ago, and found it tasty but nothing truly extraordinary. Today I came back, and I really enjoyed my experience, which is why I went from 4 to 5 stars. I did opt for the "Hot as Cluck," despite the employee really trying to talk me out of it. It's definitely a hot sandwich, but it's delicious. I love spice, so it was okay. I drank lots of water, and the fries helped cool it down a bit. That being said, I'm not really sure it warranted all of the warnings I was given. The last time I hadn't thought the Fargo Hot was hot enough, and this sandwich was DEFINITELY hot enough, but in a good way (if you love spice!!). The woman taking my order was really worried about me not being able to finish, but honestly the portions are so big I'm not sure I would have been able to finish no matter what I ordered! If I had one suggestion on the sandwich , it would be to add a few more pickles. Just a little more acid and I think it would have been perfect. Was my mouth burning? Yes. But I can't wait to eat it again. The portions were a little big for me, so next time I go, I'll be asking for my sandwich without the bun. I ended up just eating the chicken once I saw how big it was with the bread and the fries anyways. Just a bit too much for me for lunch. The other women at the table all got the three tenders, no sides, and they were full (and raving about their meals) at the end of lunch. The two men at the table were able to eat a full sandwich and a side of fries. One woman got five tenders and took two to go. I ate about 2/3 of my fries and 2/3 of my chicken patty before I was just too full to continue. So yes, it's spicy; but if you love spice, you'll be fine.
