Breakfast Republic is our must go to breakfast spot every time we come down to visit our son at school. One of our friends told us about BR and we were not disappointed. Everything I have tried has been great, love the Bae Mac and the Portages Omelette. But what I crave is the café de Ole, the GOAT!!! Everything is made fresh and with attention the detail. The vibe is amazing, if I had a restaurant, it is exactly as I would set it up. The staff is great, especially Jeremy, try to sit in his section if he's working. Highly recommend Breakfast Republic,, no question 5 stars

Came here for my friend's birthday breakfast! The French toast was delicious and came with fresh jam and whipped butter. We got the chicken, fennel, sausage omelette, and it was delicious. Highly recommend the potatoes. They were 10 out of 10. I could not stop eating them and I'm not the person to eat a lot of potatoes. They were able to accommodate everyone's dietary needs. Stewie was our amazing server and he was hilarious, hospitable and prompt. We so enjoyed our time here and will definitely be coming back when I'm in town. Thanks for starting my friend's birthday off so special Stewie !

Great brunch at Breakfast Republic!! The jambalaya was delicious, the mimosas were fresh and balanced, and the pancakes!!! So fluffy and so delicious. Everything came out hot and the vibe was nice for a breezy afternoon on the patio. Kassi was so welcoming and brought a positive vibe. Recommended the best pancakes I've ever had too. Solid spot for a weekend breakfast or brunch. Definitely coming back!

This restaurant has a few locations. This is my 1st time at the OB location. As usual the decor is so cute with yellow decor of chickens and eggs. Our servers Jocelyn and Lance were very friendly! For food we ordered the breakfast tostadas, protein omelette, and the seasonal Cafe de Olla pancakes The cafe de Olla pancakes with the cafe de la olla coffee was chef kiss together!!

Definitely would recommend this place to anyone coming out to ocean beach for brunch or a good time. Angela was a great server, very attentive and kind. Demolished my burger

This is my favorite location so far. It is upstairs and the vibe is much nicer than the others I have been to for the last few years. The service was good and the food is always great. My go to each and every time is the shrimp and grits. Perfectly cooked and an abundance of flavors.

The food here is Bomb! Big open format upstairs with a fun vibe and open industrial bar. Airstream trailer kitchen facade which was cool. The service was excellent. Never went without! Good Job Michael V. I ad the Crab & Crabfish Cake Benedict! I substituted the Brussels Sprouts Potatoes instead of the house potatoes. Such a good call. DO IT!!! You won't regret. My son had the Chicken and Toast which was the seasonal special. It is crispy chicken thighs made with gluten-free flour served with two poached eggs topped with a creamy chipotle hollandaise with petite cilantro, and Escabeche, which spicy pickled carrots all served over a buttered brioche toast. This was delicious! We also had a side of Jurassic Pork (Bacon). It is dusted with paprika and brown sugar. So tasty! Definitely coming back for more! Cheers!

We had the patio all to ourselves! (There was a slight stench outside so not sure if that's the reason no one wanted to sit there..?)

Service was wonderful. Our waitress was naturally sweet and attentive. The sourdough English muffin was light and crispy and the protein scramble was good, albeit a little more overcooked than I like my eggs but it had a decent amount of meat in it. They are upstairs in a commercial looking building from the outside but a great open space! Our dogs were allowed on the patio outside, upstairs. There is an elevator if needed that they can call down if needing to use it. If not, take the stairs!

My family and I ate here while vacationing in San Diego (10/25/25). We heard that it was the place to go and since we do our best to go to local favorite restaurants when we travel it was a no-brainer situation. The Ocean Beach location was close to our hotel so here we are. First, I love the downtown street of OB where the restaurant is located. The buildings gave me a small beach town vibe and I especially liked the outside of Breakfast Republic. The unassuming warehouse type exterior looks well loved and there were some egg chairs outside so we knew we were at the right place. Going in there's more seating in case there is a wait but it is also a fun photo op! As you go upstairs you just feel a good buzz in the atmosphere. People were laughing, the the clinking of utensils on dishes, yummy food smells and so many fun things to take in from the Selfie Wall that screamed out "Run, Cock, Run" or the large windows that were open to the street. The Food Trailer visible on the far side (guessing that is the kitchen) and the merchandise wall (that I noticed later) made me super excited. I knew I was going to like it here. We took quite a while to look at the menu and our server, Kassi, was so patient with us. She brought crayons and a coloring paper for my nephew to keep him occupied and answered our numerous questions about the menu and the dishes we were looking at trying. She never once rushed us to order or even finish and leave and this experience was truly enjoyable. Mom and I ordered the cafe de olla, the Mexican coffee with cinnamon and piloncillo (which I learned is a Mexican cane sugar). It was yummy and was served in a fun cup with all sorts of funny sayings. The bottom even says "You can't make everyone happy you are not coffee." My dad got the house coffee in another fun cup. The front has the Breakfast Republic Logo and the back has 3 levels of coherency: 1) Unable to communicate in full sentences 2) Slightly more coherent but still unable to hold a conversation 3) you may speak now. This made me laugh so much so I asked Kassi if it was available for purchase and she kindly informed us of the merchandise wall. Of course I needed to get the coffee mug to add to my collection. When I got home and washed it I noticed the underside message that says "definitely booze in this cup." Since I took it to work to use, it is perfect and it makes me smile every day. I enjoyed my coffee; the cinnamon gave it a nice spiced feel (but not overboard) and Kassi shared with us the secret syrup...ok, not really but I'm going to try recreate it. My sister was the outlier and got an iced ube latte. I liked it but it wasn't her favorite. So food then..... I have the hardest time making decisions when it comes to breakfast cause I want to eat everything! After much back and forth with myself and discussion with my sister, we decided to share so I got the french toast sampler which allows you to choose 3. I chose the brioche, s'mores, and strawberry & mascarpone. My sister got a seasonal sauteed vegetable scramble which came with potatoes and fruit. Between the 2 of us it was a lot of food but we ate most of it. My parents both got different eggs benedict so they could share. The baby ate some of everything. Initially we were given a scramble with meat but since we had started to eat it before realizing it was the wrong dish, Kassi told us to keep it and she would bring the vegetable scramble. It turned out fine because my nephew ended up eating most of that one. He also at most of the brioche french toast and a little bit of potato. I really liked the S'mores french toast and especially liked the cute rooster pourer for the syrup! I was pretty impressed at how much food we ate considering we had an additional meal. We ended up taking home some potatoes, a little scramble, one eggs benedict, fruit, and 2 new mugs and a flask. All-in-all this was such a great experience - from the fun egg chairs at the entrance, all the IG worthy decor, merchandise, the awesome service, and especially the yummy food! I am going to keep Breakfast Republic on my "to eat in San Diego" list and I look forward to coming back here!

Ocean Beach has gone commercial, and honestly, that's alright! I had breakfast at Breakfast Republic, and wow, the menu is loaded with so many amazing dishes it's hard to choose. My group tried a bit of everything: eggs Benedict, a pancake bonanza featuring churro pancakes, classic pancakes, and chocolate chip pancakes. We also got a ham and egg sandwich paired with some seriously tasty house potatoes. The highlight? A massive cup of coffee that practically screamed "Ocean Beach" with every sip (check out the picture for the vibe). If you're hunting for a breakfast bonanza in OB, Breakfast Republic is the spot!

Came here for brunch and was seated quickly on a weekday. The interior is very cute and unique. I like how there are sinks outside of the bathroom section. Their water cups have their logo on it and have a cute rustic vibe (without being actually rustic). They have a huge menu. I got the Mr. Presley French toast and the serving was huge! My mom got the shrimp and grit frittata and the serving was huge too. (But keep in mind we are petite Asian people haha) I thought the French Toast was super decadent, but to the point where it was kind of sickening. This is probably because it wasn't really my cup of tea and I'm not the biggest peanut butter fan . The flavors were weird but were actually very yummy all together. There could have definitely been more bacon though. Otherwise, very yummy! The potato's that come with the frittata are deep fried, so they are kind of like cut up wedge French fries. I thought they were very good and crispy. The toast that comes with it is nothing spectacular, just a slice of bread.

Came on a Friday morning and service was sllooowww. We waited for awhile to be seated and then another while to get service and then even more awhile to pay. Once we got service, though, everyone was super friendly. Trendy place with lots of lights and a huge menu. They have outdoor seating where I saw people bring their dogs to. They offer 2 types of coffee that come with unlimited refills which was clutch! I ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada (highly recommend) and it was more than enough! The chips were crispy while still smothered in sauce. We also ordered the cinnamon pancakes to share and that was dangerously addicting. I love how their pancakes were somewhat crispy when you bit into it, not just a sponge like texture. I would come again when I have time to spare, otherwise, unsure if this would be my go-to breakfast spot in the area.

I spent all morning looking for a good breakfast spot in SD because we are not here everyday. I saw this place and coming from OC, said I do not know because we are not obsessed bc the lines are usually pretty long. Got there and I think we came right before the rush, and was blown away. Let me go through the reasons why: 1) The menu caters to whatever you are craving: vegan, healthy, sweet, savory, sweet+savory (!!!)...so for an indecisive person, this actually worked well! I want sweet pancakes, but usually want to eat eggs for breakfast, so the fact I could get my omelette and add pancakes for only $4 without getting a whole order, I was very satisfied! 2) The coffee was not expensive like the rest of the world! $4.75 for bottomless cafe de olla, $5.00 for an amazing vanilla/chai/mocha latte- yesss! Jackpot! Even if you get 16 oz, $6.75! 3) such a cool, hip and fun interior! Love the open air with cool decorations 4) everything was tasty! We ordered the shrimp and ricotta frittata, and they did not skimp out on the bacon, the asparagus or the shrimp! And what's best is we shared it with the added pancakes and still had pancakes left over 5) last, and most importantly, the service. This I pay attention to everywhere we go! I have been to places where it is not busy and the server forgets to refill your water, but Angela our server took care of us. It got busy right after we sat, but she still came by throughout our meal to check on us. She kept my yummy cafe de olla filled up, and made sure we were doing well throughout our meal. Bridgette the manager even came by and was so sweet! In summary, I beg of management to please open more sites in OC! Particularly north OC near orange/placentia. And please give the manager Bridgette and her server Angela extra kudos because on a busy day, they took extra care of us. And if you are in SD, check this place out! You will not be disappointed!

For a bar, that's not always a given, and as someone who doesn't drink as much these days, that immediately stood out to me. I grabbed a lavender leprechaun and it was super refreshing, light, and just a really nice change of pace from the usual soda-or-water options. It didn't feel like an afterthought, it actually felt intentional. For food, I went with the corned beef sandwich and it did not disappoint. Hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you'd want from a proper Irish pub. The whole place has that classic pub vibe but still feels welcoming whether you're drinking or not. That balance is rare, and I really appreciated it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially knowing I've got solid non-alcoholic options to enjoy.

Despite the crowds, service was impressively fast. We grabbed seats at the bar and were taken care of right away, which was a pleasant surprise given how busy it was. Food-wise, the fish and chips were good, but not amazing--solid, but nothing to rave about. The sausage rolls, unfortunately, were a bit underwhelming for me. I was hoping for a crispier, flakier pastry, but they fell a little short in texture. One thing I really miss is the live music they used to have before Covid. It added so much to the atmosphere, and I'd love to see them bring that back. Outside of big events like St. Patrick's Day, the place can feel a bit quiet, so the music would definitely elevate the overall vibe. Overall, still a great spot for a pint and good service--especially impressive during peak crowds--but there's definitely room to bring back some of that old charm.

The largest grossest bugger hanging out of his nose, he had sweat marks so large there was no need to lift his arms to see them. He proceeded then to do shots at the bar with costumers. Which again... I totally can appreciate having a good time in a good neighborhood pub. The floors were so dirty around the booths. The menus dirty. Just over all couldn't stay and eat here. Located in Gaslamp, street parking is your best bet. For most spots, you have to pay metered parking until 10 p.m. I was able to find an exception to the rule around 8:30 p.m. Ambiance (3/5): Werewolf is a pretty laid back bar. Which is right up my alley. This happened to be karaoke night. This may be an unpopular option but I'm not a fan of karaoke. If you are, you're golden. I would've enjoyed the ambiance a bit better on a standard night. We sat at a wooden booth in the back of the restaurant. Service (3/5): You order at the bar (both food and drinks). They were fairly busy on a Wednesday and only two bartenders were working. As a result, service was a bit slow. After placing my order, I closed out. Their cocktail list doesn't list prices. Not a fan of that. I asked the bartender how much some particular cocktails cost, and he didn't go. Not a good look. Drinks (4/5): Werewolf has an interesting list of craft cocktails. Plus a full bar. Just list your cocktail prices on the menu! Food (4.5/5): The food is surprisingly quite good. I went with the wings appetizer (and made them sticky for a dollar extra). Sweet with a little kick. The wings were fried just right with a crispy exterior and juicy inside. Finger-lickin' good! I also couldn't say no to papas balls lol. This appetizer is their version of hushpuppies. Taken to a higher level. Stuffed with mashed tater, bacon, cilantro, cotija, and drizzled with house sauce. Normally, papas balls would scare me, but these are scrumptious. The two appetizers combined were filling for a full meal.

First drink: 9/10 (profile) Vodka bases with cucumber and strawberry. Second drink: 8.5/10 (profile) Smokey, deep old fashion. Overall a MUST-GO to if you're in the area stopping by!
