Stopped by here on a random day and was craving breakfast. I had a Bloody Mary and I will say it was DELICIOUS! Probably one of the best Bloody Marys I've had. The food on the other hand came out cold and very bland. The portions were really big I was able to share with my partner. But the food was not it. I would definitely come back for the Bloody Mary. We sat at the bar and the service was pretty slow. They were friendly but took forever to get our order and drinks in. I'd probably go back and try it again and hope the food is better and hot.
A+ for presentation. All of our food was a delight for the eyes. It lacked a little luster on the palate. I ordered one of my favorites, chilaquiles. Theirs were red. The sauce was overly bitter and the chilaquiles begged for more cheese, sour cream, and cilantro. The Mexican dishes are served with rice and black beans. This is something, if you're going to serve them, just get them right. Rice and beans should be flavorful and impossible to pass up. And it's not hard to get that right. I'm sure the beans were from a can and seasoned up a bit. Not enough. I also tried a bit of the churro pancakes. The churro part was dined well, but the dry, rubbery pancakes left much to be desired. Not a terrible place, but we waited fur a table. We should have used our time driving to find a better spot.
The food was spectacular! Austin our server was on top of his game the whole time taking great care of us while still maintaining the perfect chill San Diego vibe. Highly recommend the Cafe De Olla!!! If you are in Mission Valley for breakfast especially near the mall you should heavily consider this place.

Came in on a Monday morning for breakfast with a Friend of mine. There are a ton of outside seats with a little patio out front, also a ton of seating on the side as well. The inside isn't huge but there's a good amount of seats. There was a bit of a wait for a table but we were able to snag some seats at the bar right away. We were greeted immediately and given water then took just a moment to look over the menu. My friend and I both ordered a coffee drink and eggs Benedict. Since we were seated at the bar we got to watch our drinks being made and almost immediately after receiving our coffees our food was out! It was QUICK. The coffee I opted for was an iced salted caramel latte. It was so tasty with just a hint of sweetness. That was exactly what I wanted that morning. My friend enjoyed her drink as well, she decided on an espresso martini type drink called a Big Boozy Brew Shot. Clearly she liked it because she had 3. Our eggs bene were so good! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was delicious. I used some of the house ketchup with the potatoes and I loved that little hint of spice. Yum! It was my friend's idea to come here because it was one of her favorites when she used to live in the area and I'm glad for the recommendation. The service was so friendly and efficient, the food came out so quickly and tasted great. I highly recommend!
Stopped by this morning to grab some breakfast and had a wonderful experience. We haven't been to this specific location in the past but have tried many others. Pro tip: bring the kiddos, sit on the patio and watch the trolley go by! There was no wait on a Monday morning so we were greeted and sat promptly. Kenzie was our server and she was so sweet and attentive. She checked on us, got me fresh coffee, and came out with the check as soon as she noticed we were done. Thank you Kenzie!
BR Mission Valley Review Breakfast Republic is one of those places that makes breakfast feel like a desirous palette of flavors instead of just another meal. The menu has plenty of creative options, but they also do the classics well, so there's something for everyone. The portions are generous, the atmosphere is cool vibes and the service is fluid even during busy times. I arrived on a Saturday at 12ish. Wait time was expected to be 25 minutes but was more like 18. Indoor and outdoor seating was available. Our server Austin was definitely on top of it and deserves two finger snaps and a high cheer split. Our table ordered the Oreo pancakes with a side of whipped cream and the shrimp and grits. The pancakes literally had the Oreo filling between the stacks. Way too decadent and too much for one person's insulin. It was delicious but only half eaten. The shrimp & grits is not like the traditional recipe but it was good and flavorful. And did taste as good warmed up later. I would ask for the corn on the side. Yes, it had corn. BR has to do it differently. If you're looking for a farm kitchen spizzo with food variety and choices, BR is an easy recommendation. TIP FOR GUESTS: I carry my own cleansing cloths (for all restaurants) because the tables are not cleaned only wiped. There was a lot of residue. TIP FOR BR: A sign should be posted during busy times guests can't just sit and chat for more than 20 minutes beyond their eating time.

Amazing dining experience with co-workers! To begin the long weekend and celebrate someone's birthday, the group met for lunch. This was my second time dining at Breakfast Republic, but my first time dining at this particular location. Located in a shopping center, the ample available parking added to the relaxing and enjoyable experience. Among the group, several different entrees were selected, and everyone raved about the quality, quantity, and deliciousness of the food. I wish I could have had a bite of everything on the table (smile). Seated at a large table, which allowed everyone to interact, made for a pleasant experience for all of us, and we even sang happy birthday to the birthday boy. The atmosphere was great; staff and customer service were great; and the food was delicious! Highly recommended.

Both lack flavor, seemed like it was missing something. The potatoes were a bit cold and dry. Felt like they just grabbed some from a pre cooked container and threw them on the plate. I probably wouldn't come back because nothing really stood out to me, but the experience was decent.

It was good, but lacked any presence of greens. Is it just me or a burger isn't complete without lettuce, onions and tomatoes? There were just a lot of protein (2 patties, bacon, egg) and carbs (fried potatoes) so I just felt like I needed veggies to balance it out. I had asked for "no-buns" because I don't care for any more carbs. In my mind maybe they could've done a lettuce wrap or something as it has been done in the past at other restaurants. Sure, I can't presume to think they'll do the same here, so maybe this was on me. But had they done a lettuce wrap or provided lettuce instead of buns, I would've given them an extra star. Also, the item description said it had Thousand Island dressing. But my burger did not have any. I asked our server why that was, and she said the dressing is on the buns, so because I asked for no buns, they didn't think to put the dressing on the burger. Whaaat? I guess our server realized the error, she asked if I wanted the dressing on the side. I, of course, said yes. This kind of gave me a weird vibe. The California Breakfast Burrito was decent, but it came with way too much rice and beans. I feel like sides portions should not overpower the main entree. Overall, decent breakfast place, but I probably wouldn't come back.
Oh my god. The portions are amazing and the coffee was delicious. We came by over labor day weekend before driving back to LA. My girls loved the churro pancakes, I had some breakfast burrito left over (it was ginormous and I didnt want food coma while driving back) and my husband inhaled it when I brought it home. The coffee? Helped me stay alert during my drive home. Sorry, no picture of the churro pancake. Once it came out I had to fight my girls to let me cut & split it amongst the 3 of us. This is now going to be a staple in each & every trip to san Diego. My god 10/10.

Good spot for breakfast in Mission Valley San Diego. Our server was fantastic. Took care of me and my son constantly. Food was ok. My son loved the bacon pancakes, but I wanted my eggs on my tostada over medium and they here over hard. No runny yolk. I've been to other locations and this one was not very upbeat. Never thought there would be a day where I would be eating egg benidict?? ( I don't eat egg) This is the first time I have seen vegan egg benedict on the menu and let's just say I was pleasantly surprised. The texture was so soft and fluffy and the salty "egg" paired perfectly with the jam. It is THE dish for my sweet and savory girlies. And there are potatoes on the side which are so crispy and filling! The breakfast burrito I wasn't that impressed with because it has a lot of fake meat which I am not a fan of. But if you like the taste and texture of meat and are exploring going vegan definitely give it a shot. I am quiet surprised at the amount of vegan options because most restaurants and breakfast places don't have it even if they are a chain! Also fyi the house-made ketchup is not it. I thought it would taste regular or Gourmet but it had a weird after taste. I went late afternoon and it was pretty busy still. I always want to give Breakfast Republic the benefit of the doubt bc it is so highly rated and the wait is always insane... but it really is just average for me. My table ordered the chilaquiles, the shrimp and ricotta frittata, and an American breakfast. The tortilla chips in the chilaquiles had a weird texture that was soggy and crunchy at the same time and just tasted like tomato paste. The beans and rice were nothing special. I was so excited about the frittata, but it tasted like nothing. Adding salt and hot sauce made it somewhat palatable. The buttermilk pancakes were the only thing we really enjoyed. After many tries, I think I've established that breakfast republic just isn't for me. read more

Long line in the middle of the week at 11am. Didn't expect that, but they do have a variety to satisfy everyone. Gluten free Eggs benedict with fruit and an omelette with potatoes and toast. The eggs benedict sauce was terrific, though the bread was small and hard. The mix of fruit was good and it was fresh. The omelette was huge and a lot of potatoes! The portions on the regular menu seem to be bigger, but is gf people have our standards below ground, so it was acceptable. The place is loud but the staff was friendly. read more

We got seated right away on the weekend, my friend and I both ordered the same thing, French toast with strawberries and whipped cream. Came here for a quick breakfast with family. The restaurant is super cute, decor and ambiance all very modern. Our server was friendly and also quick to take our orders, clear plates, etc. we got the protein pancakes, power bowl, and chilaquiles. Everyone was satisfied! I hesitated with the pancakes but they were actually hitting the spot to satisfy the pancake crave while not being atrocious calorie-wise. Love that the macros were posted. The power bowl had a LOT of flavors going on, and chilaquiles were satisfying, chips had a nice crunch to them still. Overall we enjoyed and will likely be back to try other items. read more

American brunch with creative menu offerings and options for those on a high protein or vegan diet. This restaurant does not take reservations, only walk-ins, so for large parties plan accordingly. They are quite a small restaurant in a strip mall. The staff are friendly but casual, and we had no trouble ordering. There was a mix up in which one person did not get their food for quite a long time, which was unfortunate, but accidents do happen. I ordered the California Breakfast Burrito, which I think is a Cali burrito because it has potatoes. It came with a side of rice and beans. The rice was rather dry and beans not very flavorful. The burrito was good, lots of big chunks of creamy egg and a hit of salty fattiness from the bacon. I enjoyed it most with their signature hot sauce on the table. I also got the ube iced latte, which was tasty, but more just generically sweet than any strong ube flavor. Just a heads up but it will also stain your lips and teeth a little. We also ordered a pancake flight and french toast sampler for the table. Some are smaller than others, for example the pineapple is just one pancake with pretty light toppings whereas the oreo one is two pancakes stacked with cream inside. The french toast was a hit with the table. The pancakes less so. The oreo was very crumbly, did not stay together at all, but the flavor was nice. The tres leches pancake is SO sweet. Even with a huge sweet tooth I could not handle it. Next time I would stick to the french toast, seemingly their better item, as at least the pancakes we chose were a miss. Overall it was a decent dining experience, but their food was not standout and even lacking in some areas. I think it stands somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but for having a great vegan menu I will round up. read more

Are the chillaquilles crunchy and not soggy like most places?
i have never tried it so i don't know the texture of the chilaquiles but I recommend you do go in and have breakfast is a great selection. My boyfriend, James Brodfuehrer and I loved it.
What is the parking situation here?
For a big lot, it gets busy! I would park closer to PetSmart &walk over, unless you want to wait for someone to leave. &forget about the tiny parking spaces at the wall! Lol.
