Such a GOOD brunch spot in sd that hits all of the marks!! My family had a reservation on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of street parking! We were seated after 15 minutes and the shop is so cute, well decorated and clean! It's a loud and bustling environment. I ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo and the mild chipotle sauce. I also got the horchata cocktail and it was really good! Not super strong though, good for a brunch. It wasn't spicy and I was scared the chorizo would be too salty but it wasn't! First time visiting. I made a reservation just in case. I'm glad I did because it was busy (Thursday at 10 am). There was a line of about 20 people when we left around 11:10 am. I ordered the Cajeta Toast (french toast with caramel drizzle, berries, and powdered sugar paired with eggs and bacon). It was good overall. I got scrambled eggs, and they were the steamed liquid eggs which aren't my top choice. The bacon was meh. If I had to guess, it was that bacon that comes precooked or something on that quality level. Service was fine - straight forward. We were a party of three, and I did ask if they could split the check. Apparently, they can only split it two ways max so we just decided to just venmo our friend who paid with her card. The ambiance was super cute. The large tree inside was so pretty. There was a mix of cute booths and regular tables inside. There was outside seating as well that looked like a nice option if you want less reverberating noises (besides the planes that fly over Liberty Station). Overall, I had a good time. But it had beautiful music playing, lots of people, and happy vibes. Everything on the menu looked delicious, it's hard to choose what you want. I do recommend you get there early, the parking lot is located next to a park along with other restaurants so it does get full. Our server Isabelle got water to our table and gave us great recommendations on the menu, and showed us from the front window what was popular on their menu. -we had the flight of margaritas -El Patron (chilaquiles with French toast 10/10) - The lotería burrito was well portioned and the salsa had so much flavor -El Tochomorocho my sister had a delicious sweet corn tamale that balanced the spiciness of the chilaquiles -for dessert: I was treated with a concha, cheesecake and churro plate to share with my family The cocha was 10/10! Heater on the stovetop and I think they put cajeta (goat milk caramel) tasted so different! When Isabelle brought out my dessert plate she rang a bell and had them sing happy birthday. One thing I really loved if you're celebrating a birthday, the staff comes out to sing and celebrate with you, which is super sweet and makes your day extra special . This location can get busy depending on the day and time, but they do offer a variety of alcoholic beverages, which makes it even more fun. Just a heads-up: not all locations serve alcohol. We tried the Piñata drink, the margarita flight, and the celebration flight all fun options. Highly recommend the chilaquiles divorciados since you get to choose different sauces perfect if you love variety or want to try more than one flavor. The enfrijoladas are also really good. So nice, we brought our visiting friends twice! The entire experice was very pleasant. Made reservations (Do it) and we were seated both times promptly. Each person that came to our table (host, server, bread lady, drink staff) were all very polite and helpful when we had questions. The food won over our friends almost immediately. Pan dulce was nice and fluffy, chilaquiles delicious with a ton of flavor (la bomba) and the french toast with cajeta was a nice sweet end to our savory breakfast. The portions are generous and the drinks very refreshing (OJ was freshly squeezed). Comida mexicana done very well. I first got to try a taste of their chilaquiles at the San Diego magazine brunch bash and they were delicious!! So I had to come and check out the full menu/spot with my boyfriend and I'm so glad I did! Our food was delicious and fresh. After visiting a few times doing both walk in and reservations through opentable this place is not bad. I love the ambience, the inside is beautiful. The restaurant is located right across from the San Diego airport so you will hear an airplane taking off very often and it is loud. The service is not bad for the most part. The first time I went it was kind of annoying for them to tell us that we had a time limit but I've noticed that they didn't say that the last couple times I went so I don't know if they Took people's feedback into consideration or what but it was nice to not be rushed from the very beginning. After trying a few dishes the stars of this restaurant are definitely the Chilaquiles and the café de olla latte. I've tried the burritos and they are just OK, very dry. I've tried the pork quesadillas and the cheese makes it better but I can tell that if it didn't have the cheese it would be dry. The cream jalapeño sauce for the Chilaquiles is amazing. Carne Asada at this restaurant is not seasoned and they are tough pieces of well done beef. What's great about this restaurant is you can walk around after you are done. The weekend often have different events that you can wander to if you coincidentally are there while there is an event happening on the many lawns. Great place to meet up with your friends on the weekend unless you need three hours at least to chat. read more

I went a few days after Christmas on a week day and the walk-in line was long. We were seated right away though, thanks to our reservations. Staff was really nice and we were happy with the service. The food is great and has been consistent through all my visits. We ordered La Bomba, Rancheros, and Cremosos. The servings are substantial with generous servings of protein in all the dishes. The service at Cocina 35 -- 10/10! Our waiter was so kind and patient with our large birthday party table. We had a manager stop by and ask how we were doing part way through our meal, and there was even someone with a cart walking around offering cafe de olla and conchas. I was very happy with my hot cafe de olla and my friends loved the flavored lattes they ordered. To eat they have a variety of sweet and savory Mexican breakfast options. Most of us went for some version of chilaquiles. I was happy with my food overall. The ambiance of this place is so cutie! Brunch for less than $30 in Liberty Station is a great deal. Plus, my whole party found adequate parking near the restaurant. My husband and I recently took my parents and our pup to brunch here over the weekend. It was our second time at this location and it was 10/10 again. My parents can be a little picky but they loved it. My dad got the los rancheros chilaquiles. The chorizo was so tasty and wasn't oily like it sometimes can be. The chips still had a good crunch and the salsa was the perfect compliment. My mom got the flautas and those were solid too. I got the los cremosos chilaquiles bc it had grilled chicken that I could give my pup. The chicken was still juicy and seasoned well but that chipotle crema on top of the chips was the star. My husband got their French toast and it was the perfect amount of sweetness without being too much. We also got the cafe de olla, (free refills) horchata (a bit sweet for my taste) and fresh squeezed orange juice which were all nice additions to the food. The vibes are always fun for weekend brunch. Highly recommend getting a reservation as the walk in line was consistently long while we were there. Very disappointing experience at Codina 35. We were seated at a tiny unstable table right next to the entrance walkway with an AC blasting cold air directly at us on high speed. The table was constantly moving and not comfortable to eat at all. When we politely asked to switch tables, our waiter was kind and helpful, but the host came over and told us that if we wanted a "better table" we needed a reservation. We were not asking for a better view or special treatment, we simply wanted a functional table where we could comfortably enjoy our meal without freezing. Once our food arrived, it became cold within minutes because of the strong AC blowing directly onto our table. We explained this to our waiter, who remained polite and professional throughout the experience, but it felt like management only prioritizes guests with reservations. Regardless of whether someone has a reservation or not, everyone is still paying for their meal and should receive decent service and seating. Unfortunately, the food itself was also underwhelming and did not live up to the hype. We left most of our plates untouched. Overall, not an experience we would return for. read more

Food & Drinks: I ordered the cajeta latte and the al pastor chilaquiles. The cajeta latte came with little plain cookies (I think they were Marias cookies). The latte was delicious, sweet but not overly sugary. I usually get the jitters if coffee is overly sweetened, but this was just right. The al pastor chilaquiles had great flavor and texture. As you keep eating, they do get soggy--but I actually love a good soggy texture. What I didn't love was the small portion of meat. I also felt like the protein options were pretty limited. For that reason, I'd give it -1 star. Tasty overall, but not the most well-rounded dish. Final Verdict: I'd definitely come back, especially with someone who's a big fan of chilaquiles! read more

Waiter came to greet as right the way and let us know their 90 min dinning policy.
