Went here with my family for my sister's birthday brunch and we were so happy with our food and experience. We called ahead to put our name on the list and were seated a minute after we arrived. Cody, our server, was upbeat and friendly. We ordered a French toast sampler, a pancake flight, and a Bacon Cheddar Sausage Omelet. French Toast Sampler (choice of 3)- we picked the monthly special- a Cannoli French toast- and the Banana Split and the Lemon Coconut. The Banana Split was my favorite with bananas foster and delicious vanilla ice cream. The Lemon Coconut had a subtle but consistent lemon flavor topped with shedded coconut. The Cannoli French toast was stuffed with mascarpone cheese and topped with fresh berries. Overall, the best french toast I've ever eaten! For the pancake flight, we had the Strawberry Cheesecake, Oreo, and Pineapple Upside Down. Their pancakes have a pleasant buttery flavor and a light fluffy texture. The Oreo pancake is served like and Oreo- two pancakes with creme and Oreo bits in the middle. All the pancakes were pleasant and not too rich. My mother enjoyed the omelet with potatoes and sourdough toast as a side. They have a house hot sauce and ketchup to use as desired. This was my first time at Breakfast Republic. They are short staffed in their kitchen so it took close to an hour and half to get my food. At the 50 minute point a woman came to my table to say that they were struggling in the kitchen and didn't I see the sign saying that there would be longer wait times. I didn't see the sign because when I approached the host podium I was seated immediately. If you can't feed them don't seat them. Poor leadership. I can only imagine how stressed out who ever is left in the kitchen is. Sorry to say I probably won't be back. Looking for a healthier menu. read more

Went here with 3 adults and 3 kids (8-11 yo). This place is a hot mess. Food was Ok.... But Service was awful to say the least. Service issues: - Table not set when sat - Waited 12 minutes to talk to our waiter only after flagging down some random hostess to get our waiter. - asked for kids coloring kits, never came. Wife had to go grab um. - food ordered and all came out but 1 meal. Last meal came out 5 mins later and we had to request utensils (took 3 more minutes to get utensils). We could start enjoying our meals 8 mins after it arrived. - Never check on by waiter - never asked if we want another round of drinks (or even coffee topped off) - Asked for box and check . Boxes came after 3 mins. Check didn't. - had to get up track down another waitress and informed her we need our check. Check shows up 2 mins later. - Sugar not in table had to get sugar off neighboring table as waiter MIA - Tabasco completely depleted. Bottles on neighboring tables all deprecated and filthy. - most tables around us were sat after and left prior to us. Will not go back even though it's very convenient location. read more

This place is simple yet delicious and hidden within the shops on el Camino in encinitas. Super cute and super delish place. Their coffee mugs even have measurements oh how much coffee needs to be drunk before speaking! And you can't go wrong with egg shell seats or strong mimosas! I ordered the cali Benedict which was perfect. Portion was ideal but plates were huge! Potatoes were crispy and not oily which is just the way I like them and their brioche French toast was ahmazing! Menu allows the option to indulge in super sweet breakfast food or select something protein rich and healthy. Expect a wait during weekend brunch hours. The menu has lots of choices ..,I always get the Jurassic Pork Eggs Benedict and hubby's favorite is the Eggs Benedict that I think is crayfish and crab. The Jurassic Pork is scrumptious thick bacon man-candy and is the perfect ingredient for eggs Benny. The side potatoes are like French fry cubes and great for mopping the golden egg cascading magma. The orange juice is fresh squeezed. The side patio at the Encinitas location is a pleasant experience. Inside is a bit noisy with all the hard surfaces. It would be a good place to take kids. We've always experienced good customer service with welcoming attitudes. I wish they took reservations but it's worth the wait if you run into a line. read more

This pork was so over-sweet that I may stop using sugar completely. Bleah! The potatoes looked good but they were soggy. I requested crispy potatoes & the nice waitress brought me a new plate. Just as doofus but now hot and over-salted (& I LOVE salt). My experience was very much like the couple who were sitting next to us. I ended up leaving most of my food on the table. This was a new place for my wife and I. When we arrived at 10AM on a wet Sunday morning, there was a half hour wait to be seated. My wife ordered the protein scramble and I ordered the Portuguese Linguisa scramble. Both dishes were good, but both of us were thrown for a loop to find out that the Bacon is baked with a bit of brown sugar. It took away from some of the other flavors of the dish. I'd hate to knock them for the bacon just because neither of us like sweet meat, so I'm only mentioning it for a tip for any other person visiting this place It is loud inside, but the service is excellent. Was waiting for the Carlsbad location to open but I guess that's not happening anymore. I've always wanted to try Breakfast Republic so my husband and I decided to come to this location to give it a try. Hostess was extremely friendly :) however our waiter didn't seem like he was having a good day. Wasn't getting good vibes from him luckily my husband was with me and told me to brush it off. The food was excellent! Huge portions! Great quality taste! My husband ordered the breakfast jambalaya, standard jambalaya but with an egg in it. He also ordered the ginger coffee cake. On the menu it says homemade, I believe it. Very flavorful and fluffy. I ordered the pancake flight. You choose 3 flavors and you have a good variety to pick from. I picked Oreo, cinnamon roll, and a regular buttermilk pancake. Also order a side of bacon and potatoes cause I thought I would still be hungry. Wasn't necessary because the pancakes in my opinion were HUGE! Came out on a big surfboard platter. Defiantly shareable! We took some home. All 3 pancakes I picked were great! Oreo actually tasted like an Oreo cookie and the cinnamon roll tasted like well a cinnamon roll. Defiantly recommend this place, the food will not disappoint you! read more

6/17/17 1130AM When we arrived, it looked quite busy but surprisingly it would only be a 15-20 minute wait for a table party of 2. However, the waitress said the bar was full service and there were plenty of seats there if we didn't want to wait. We opted for the bar and sat in front of an incredibly organized yet somewhat chaotic bar. The bartenders were very busy whisking mimosas and Bloody Mary's, so much that I felt somewhat neglected.. Anyway, ordered the San Diego benny which comprised of: crispy English muffin topped with a smoky ham, perfect egg, and a drizzle of hot sauce complemented by a few slivers of avocado. Oh and you get deliciously diced fried potatoes! I think the portion is generous but it was lacking in taste. The benny was bland and felt under-seasoned to me. However, I really enjoyed the laid back environment. Would love to go back again some time but to the other locations and try out something else. read more

The wait was a little long and I would definitely recommend sitting outside, but the food was probably the best I've ever had for breakfast, especially at such a low price! I got the Shrimp and Grits and it was incredible. The shrimp had a slight spice to it and the grits were cooked with smoked Gouda. I will fantasize about that breakfast for the rest of my life. This is my go-to Breakfast plus. I have enjoyed everything I've tried thus far (been here a handful of times) and have confidence with the other dishes. I ordered the Breakfast Jambalaya with shrimp/sausage and 3 over medium eggs, thanks to the recommendation of the waiter (breakfast Jambalaya vs. breakfast burger). I was hesitant at first as I've had a bad streak of sub par Jambalaya recently, but why not? Let's see if Breakfast Republic lives up to my expectation. Well, it most certainly did, especially with the generous amount of protein proportions as well as the dominant tomato flavor in the rice. I find rice to be boring, but the flavoring of the rice in this dish unified the dish. The dish was very enjoyable to eat, especially with the over medium eggs on top. My wife always gets her eggs benedict and has never had a time where she did not like her dish or her eggs were overcooked. I will never turn this place down as a breakfast/brunch choice. I plan on trying every entree here at breakfast republic and giving yelp my honest review. But so far, they are five for five. I rated this a 5 out of 5, meaning I would come here again tomorrow if I could. It's that good. read more

Since ever we had their food at their North Park location we were eager to try all their locations coz their food gives a great competition to Snooze and many other places but this one doesn't even gives his own branch a competition. Ambience:- Its cool as all other branches and good seating areas. Servers:- A bit cold and not much enthusiasm except one which seated us to our table. The server who took our order was ok, nothing in great, which makes a place break or make so for us it was the latter! Food:- 1-: Mushrooms pesto &chicken Benedict 2-: Banana split French toast 3-: Strawberry cheese pancake As you would see in my pics I did compare the food and it is very evident from the pictures that the quality and the taste for different. For example the banana split French toast had too much chocolate syrup and there were no walnuts,which you could see in the north park one. Then the same goes with the mushrooms pesto & chicken Benedict not well made. In the last we would say that they lost as a customer in their Encinitas's location but not the north park one, to improve they could try to serve the same quality of food in all their locations given the fact that their menu is same. I can see my this place has 3.5 stars. It's good, but not FB post worthy good. At most its instagram story good, so it disappears within 24 hours. They got quite creative, but still have that solid menu go-to bores that you crave when paying for someone else to cook you food while you sit & socialize. I chose the eggs Benedict. It was good, but the yolk could have been a little more runny & the sauce needed to be more than just some melted butter with a few additives. Coffee is good to go & enough elbow room to dig in to that breakfast food. It's clean enough & if you look over in the corner they have a swag section so you can take a little souvenir & do some free advertising for the establishment (smart cookies). The price isn't bad at all for what you get. You can check out the menu, but bear in mind you are in San Diego & it beats the hell out of anything that you would pay for a McDonalds. Lastly, the wait time. We got pretty lucky & seated almost immediately. However, it did take a while to get our food & greeted by a server. The quest for the best eggs Benedict continues! read more

I recently discovered the Breakfast Republic tucked into a little shopping center in Encinitas. The service is awesome and the food matched that! Everything is fresh and wholesome. The Benedict's, yes there's more than one to choose from, are delicious! I also wanted an omelet instead of a scramble which they happily accommodated. Their regular coffee is huge and absolutely yummy! Their portions are big so you'll leave satisfied.. There's something for both the meat eater and vegetarian options. It can get busy but it's worth the wait. The food comes out fast and hot! The price is reasonable for the quality of food you get. And if you share like my hubby and I do, there's room for their coffee cake! It's such a fun place to meet up with your friends or family or business meeting. Mimosas were so yummy!! I tried the mango with Tajín mimosa and it was super yummy! The lychee one was really good too. The michelada was more of a Bloody Mary then a michelada. I had the French toast which was perfection! No kids menu but they work with you for smaller portions for kids. Will definitely be coming back. read more

The breakfast mac n cheese (w/ jurassic pork) will never fails to change my life. Every single time. Loved this location just as much as the North Park one (if not more because of the shorter lines). The portions are monstrous and the food is delicious. ALWAYS recommend the mac n cheese (eggs over easy), and the pancakes are delicious. We got a flight of 3 with the pineapple upside down, churro, and strawberry cheesecake. My favorite was the strawberry cheesecake for sure, but the other two with me loved the pineapple upside down. We also got a scramble with the upgraded brussel potatos- good, but not as good as the mac n cheese. So, so thankful they opened a location closer to me. I came into BR at 8:46 and within 10 min my coffee and breakfast crab cakes were at my table DURING a rush. Juan is the manager on shift and shows great leadership skills . I sat at the bar, Damien and Bailey showed great team work as they were clocking into work while I was eating and the rush made them busy.
