Had Sunday brunch at this wonderful establishment for the first time today. The staff was very friendly, the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was fabulous! They were very busy however have a streamlined process moving every guest to a table with food delivered very shortly after ordering. Scanned the menu to review while in line; greeted promptly by a staff member inquiring of number in party who swiftly identified our table for brunch. Ordered our food, moved to our assigned table with our drinks in hand and food delivered within a few minutes. This team knows their business, executes smoothly and all with a genuine smile. The wife and I drove to breakfast at 'breakfast.' We had tried before but opted against after arriving since the line was out the door. Trusting our fellow Yelpers, we thought we would try again a little earlier in the day this time. We hit the traffic sweet spot and slid right into line behind about 10 people. Decor was sparse but I liked it. The word 'breakfast.' was backlit and mounted on a brick wall which appropriately summed up vibe I was getting. Let's call it Functionally Comfortable Industrial. Bricked walls, concrete floors, big windows to allow lots of the morning light, and fresh flowers on the tables to soften it up a little. A line of flat screen TVs hang for you to watch sports or the news while you wait. Rows of long tables and chairs spanned the breath of floor. Groups of people with a chair or two between parties seemed to enjoy their Sunday morning meals along these communal tops. There were also a few individual tables if you don't want to sit near a complete stranger. Large parties or individuals should have no problem finding a spot. Shortly after arrival we were ordering. Bacon fried rice for me, chicken and biscuits for the wife. Oh and some kind of alcoholic iced coffee. We took our number and sat at a family style table seating. The owner (Sarah I think) delivered our food. It looked fantastic and tasted even better. The chicken and biscuits were a little too much of the same flavor. I know this because after I snarfed down my bacon fried rice, I tried the wife's uneaten chicken and biscuit. Tasty but in limited amounts only. The syrup was good but I needed one more distinct flavor. The taste buds were lulled; I wanted something to wake them up. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty just lacking something. The tables were turning quickly enough to get the line at the door reasonably seated. We finished and left our space for the next patron. I would like to come back and try another one of the unique meals. I may have to come without the wife. Not many places get a second chance with her. Bon appetit yelpers. read more

Wow wow wow! My husband and I just had breakfast at Breakfast. and oh my goodness what an incredible spot! It was so delicious, the staff and owners were SO kind, and the atmosphere was absolute perfection (think modern industrial with a lively essence); I had to immediately rave about it! Sarah welcomed us with a HUGE smile and walked us through the menu to help us find options that we could eat (as we are gluten free eaters). We were absolutely ELATED to learn that most of their options could easily be shifted to gluten-free! Hubs and I split the Super Secret Owner Sammich and a stack of their OG pancakes (BOTH GLUTEN FREE AND ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR). The sandwich came with house made waffle fries and had the perfect jalapeño kick to it! Every bite was heavenly. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and oh-so-perfectly balanced! Absolutely AMAZING!!!! This small family owned restaurant has small town charm with sweet and savory options. Mama K was at the register and her daughter in law had me feeling like I needed to sit down and stay a while. It's a small menu with big flavor!! I had the Blueberry Lemon Glazed pancakes. They were the perfect blend of both, not sweet and the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. If you are in the NB are they are a must!! Even if you aren't, they are worth the trip. Great place! We stopped by in between our daughter's softball games, and we are so glad we did! Food was excellent. Service was awesome! From the cashier, to the busser, to the owners (saw their picture on their website and recognized them) that were in the kitchen and clearing tables. Great great friendly service, and very very good food, plus the food was pretty too. Even the bathrooms were nice! You can tell they paid attention to every detail. We were excited to try a new place with friends, you have to order at the counter first, the cashier and staff were very friendly, but eggs were cold, stuffed hashbrown cubes were different but some were too salty and then we were pushed out closer to closing, would have been nice to give us a reminder of the closing time than to be pushed out with sarcasm by owner. Outstanding mom and pop breakfast shop. All of the workers and servers are so warm and welcoming. I walked in at about 10:45 and the place was packed with a line outside the door and people were fussing at me when I went straight to the door to order to go. No way I was going to cut the line. These people are serious about waiting to enjoy some delicious yummy food. I ordered the avocado toast then came back after church for the breakfast egg rolls and the bacon fried rice! My first time at this new restaurant in the Versmendi neighborhood in New Braunfels. It's a trendy looking counter-service restaurant, with an interesting menu. I tried the breakfast egg roll "shareable", which was a crispy egg roll wrapper, stuffed with scrambled eggs, bacon and green onion. The thing that made it most delicious was the hot cheese dipping sauce - YUM! I was a bit disappointed that they did not have fresh brewed iced tea, but the lady who took my order assured me that the tea in the fountain was good. It really was. In fact their fountain sodas are a unique variety. I don't drink coffee, but they also had some interesting flavored syrups at the self-service coffee station. It's a new place, so was crowded. I had to wait a little while, but I think that's to be expected at a new and unique place. After I got my food, I was checked on several times, and the staff was not only attentive, but friendly. I look forward to trying some of their other menu items on my next visit. read more
