This place is terrible and I'll let you know the reasons why. I went in last summer happy to finally get a new sound system on my bmw. Walking in I let them know up front nothing over $700. After getting an install done in one day I had blown out a low quality sub, pathetic. Went in and "upgraded". When it was all set and done, my bill was $1700. However, the aftermath has been a nightmare. The "technician" grounded my amplifier directly to the battery negative terminal, that caused the IBS cable to short which quickly fried my alternator and the starter. After fixing all that the amp went out, and created a parasitic drain on my car which destroyed the battery endlessly. This place is nothing but trouble. Don't even get me started on the $400 extra they charged for labor. The "technician" also wired a cheap alarm to the ECU. Later that month I found the same subs, amp, and alarm, all about $200 less. Honestly this place is a robbery. 1 star only because YELP requires it to view the review. read more

Hands down best stereo shop in Ventura County! They have a huge selection and prices no one else around would even touch, believe me I searched. Josh is super knowledgeable and accommodating, he set me up with the perfect Rockford Fosgate system for my Ram 1500. Made sure it had deep clean bass without being over powering, which is exactly what I asked for. As a follow up to my experience at Breakers I'm posting another good review as I feel they deserve it and more. Initially I went in for alarm/stereo installation (see post below) and I was very satisfied with the results. My second go around was because I wanted them to install a locking clasp on the passenger side door that was loose making the door rattle and driving me crazy! I purchased the part and took it to Breakers for installation and to my surprise they said they would be done in approximately one hour. Breakers called me as they said they would and managed to repair without using the $200+ part I purchased from the dealer so I was able to get a refund on this part and Breakers charges were allot lower than the dealer and I was only charged for labor. The result is my door no longer rattles and my truck is fun to drive again. Thanks to a Juan the tall guy with a smile, Mason, Carlos for an excellent job and saving me $200 plus! If you folks want professional installation, honesty, integrity and staff actually helping you save money then go to Breakers. The 2 other locations either underbid or tried to oversell without answering questions to my satisfaction. One of the dealers said it would take 7 business days before they could even begin the installation. The other dealer quoted me $900.00 and was not very friendly and appeared to be in a hurry. I went to Breakers and spoke to Carlos who was very knowledgeable and to the point, a very nice and professional no non-sense type of individual who knew what I required after a few questions. Also an associate, Mason was also very nice, helpful and went out of his way to make sure I was attended to. The technician Juan, a tall fellow was extremely nice with a smile and another technician named Christian was very thorough and made sure I was satisfied with the final product and both assured me that they would take care of any problems should they arise. The staff at Breakers appear to be car enthusiasts as opposed to being in just another job. First off, I made an appointment to get my girls windows tinted. They quoted me $80 to remove the existing tint and scheduled me for an appointment a week later. They had me put a $20 deposit down which no one said was non refundable. When I showed up to my appointment they had this crabby nasty old man come check out the car and he tells me "I don't care who quoted you $80, I make $75 an hour and it's gunna take me a couple hours to get the tint off and I'm probably going to break some stuff on the back windshield." Then asked me "You still want me to take it off? Huh!?" I told the front office lady, who had her 2 year old running all over the shop area throwing toys, I want my deposit back. I'm not paying $75 an hour for some old p.o.s. To break parts on my car. The sub woofer in my wife's Lexus started making a rattling sound last week so I called Josh at Breakers. He made an appointment for Tuesday morning to have it looked at. Upon arrival, they inspected my car and verified that the 8" sub woofer in the back was definitely blown. He replaced the old sub with a Kicker 8" and put it back together in about 45 minutes and the price was about 1/10 the cost of what the dealer wanted to fix it. The car sounds SO MUCH BETTER and has just the right amount of bass. Couldn't be happier with the service, staff and the end product. read more

Awesome service!!!!! Took my 08 Xterra in for tint, and the crew was super honest, never tried to up sell ell me to anything I didn't need. However I did up sell myself while waiting, and walked out of there with a kenwood double din touchscreen that a very helpful employee (I think he may have even been the owner) helped me with. I wanted to tint my windows to match my back windows and every other place I had gone to couldn't give me the perfect match... which was irritating because I wanted all windows to match without going darker on my back windows. I had a unique issue with a remote starter/alarm system on a family member's car. The remote was broken and it needed to be manually turned off. The owner, Josh, went out of his way to help me "disarm" the alarm so the car will start. Over the phone 9which I had to call several times), He walked me through the steps to disarm the system.
