I got there right as they opened. The cinnamon buns looked good so I said "can I have these two…read morebuns right here". The associate went to the back table and got me two different buns. Mild fail for not getting me the ones I requested. I ended up with eight buns. I mention "I'm making boxes, one for my mom and one for my dad". There's a wonderful looking chocolate cake with mascarpone and caramel in the middle and on top, very pretty. I say "I have guests for dinner, can I have 3 slices". This cake is wildly unequally cut. She starts to give me the slices that are about an inch wide, moving in that direction each guest will get very different servings. I ask if I can have different slices and she says "no, because then it won't look as nice sitting there". I question if the container she's about to put them in is tall enough. She assures me it is, and it's the biggest one they have. It's not. I say "I'll just carry it out without shutting it". As she tries to fannagle the last piece in the box and it's sliding and separating. She then goes to shut the box. I'm looking at the mess thinking how will I serve this? Then I say, "pork is being served for dinner, what bread would you recommend"? She says "probably any but not the current, sunflower, flax", which shocks me because I imagine pork and currents as a wonderful match. Anyway, I buy 4 loaves and a breakfast foccia. I'm not offered a receipt and in fact not told a total or presented the screen to see a total. Instead, the screen is slightly tilted to the side for me to reach around and scan my card. As the items are being packed, she puts the frosted cinnamon rolls on the bottom and goes to put 4 loaves of bread on top. Sweet mother of Pete, I say "would you mind packaging the bread separately so the cinnamon roll topping doesn't get smashed and stick to the box?" At this point, I'm a bit frustrated and I'm pretty sure they just want me to leave. The foccia was salty, chuck full of herbs with tender bacon and whole egg cooked so that it's not dry or crumbly and probably soft enough to spread, surrounded by bread airy and soft, still having a good satisfying chew. When I reached out to some food loving friends the sentiment was, "always great items" but everyone had a situation where service was "dry, dismissive, aloof". The wares were good, but I'm not thinking good enough to potentially have a repeat experience.

I have been looking for a bakery that will produce a sourdough bread without a bunch of additives,…read moreconditioners or preservatives. This may be it. I have tried the batard, the einkorn loaf and the pain de campagne, all of which were very good. The crust on the batard was everything you could want it to be and the interior was soft and chewy. The einkorn was good and I would be happy with that every day but my favorite is the pain de campagne. I will get that every time with a variety of others added for variety. I stuck with the bread. My wife had some of the other baked goods and had no complaints. Finally, I don't know what they have in stock for the breads because I ordered and paid online and then picked the order up. I like that I didn't drive over there to find out they were sold out.

Parking is a little bit dicey in that it's mainly street parking, but the couple of times I've went I've never had an issue finding a spot. Most people don't sit and eat for too long, I feel like it's more of a grab and go place. Everyone working there was very kind and helpful, and answered all the questions I had! Butter croissant: this is a solid croissant. Buttery, flaky, great lamination. Butterscotch cruffin: again, lovely layers. The butterscotch icing/drizzle was too sweet for me, even though they did incorporate some salt to offset that sweetness. To be fair, it's butterscotch, it needs to be sweet! Ham and butter focaccia: you know, I thought this is going to be something that I nibbled on over the next several days-- I brought it home and my husband ate it all in one go :( Suffice to say, it was good bread, good butter, good ham. SEC croissant: breakfast sandwich in croissant form. I don't normally go for savory things, but I really liked the everything seasoning on this plus the little crispy pool of cheese that had oozed out the sides. I'm honestly so happy that Butterjoy exists, even though it means I need to drive 20 minutes to get my croissant fix.

We arrived within the first couple hours of opening, so there was a large selection of goods to choose from; everything looked so good! ... And if smelled wonderful too! However, I did not like that nothing had prices listed, at least not that my friends or I were able to locate. It also would have been a nice touch if they offered coffee and/or tea to go with their items... but, since they are more of a takeout bakery (only having outdoor seating), it may not make sense for them. I opted for a savory option of a breakfast sandwich made on a jalapeno scone with egg, perfectly crispy bacon and melty cheddar cheese. My friends got a pastry and a muffin. My sandwich was really tasty & fresh; I thought the price was kinda steep, coming in around $15. My one friend enjoyed her pastry. My other friend had a very hard time getting the wrapper to peel off of her muffin, losing pieces of muffin in order to remove all the wrapper. I would consider visiting again, but would really like for them to have pricing listed somewhere.

While the filling was delicious, I felt like the pastry itself was a little dry and could've used more filling. There were gaps in the middle that did not have any filling. The person who was at the counter was very willing to answer any questions but I think it would also be helpful to have descriptions (for some of the more uncommon pastries) and prices listed with the pastries.

I opted for the sweet stack with Oreos, Cookie Monster ice cream and all the works. It was SO good but massive! I could only eat a quarter of it, so it would have been nice if they offered different sizes. Those run about $9. My kids got kiddie soft serve ice creams and my fiancé got the Nutella sweet stack which was yummy too. For everyone it was $29 total. My son got "super thirsty" since it was a hot day and the servers were nice and gave my fiancé a cup of water for him. Unfortunately my other son decided to stick his hands in it and ruin in. I went and asked for another cup of water and they told me they don't serve cups of water and only sell bottled water.... I didn't bother getting it at that point. Any other ice cream place we've been to around town has either a water jug outside or have offered a cup of water, so it was just odd. Anyways, it was good ice cream and I like all the fun stuff they offer.
