Pro: So....I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I'm a "one-trick pony" when it comes to ordering anything from Bread and Bagels. I ALWAYS get the hot pastrami sandwich on a Kaiser roll, with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Is it fair to write a review based on just one menu item? Probably not. The place was downright dirty. The owner cuts corners every chance he gets from his building to his customers. It's astounding this place passes health inspection. Gunk on all their equipment, gunk on the floor, I don't want to call them droppings but something suspicious on the floors against the wall. It's just crazy to me no one pays attention to this place. Let me tell you something! I place a relatively large size order so you know that normally means check food before you pull off cause someone messed your order up. So there I was checking checking my food and to my surprise everything was done correctly! One bagel didn't have cheese but that was forgiven. I went back inside and they quickly fixed it. Based off of the bagels I would recommend this place. My bf mother stated she loved the lox spread here. So check it out too. Not only the food here is delicious but the service is great as well. customer service has gone to sht. i've been going here on and off the passed 7 years because i work at the mall. it's always been my go to place to stop and get breakfast or lunch before work and the customer service has always been great! today i called for a pickup order of a bagel... when i walked in 10-15 mins later i was not even greeted... the counter person was sitting there on his phone and half acknowledged me. after he had a chat with the cook he came back to me and said "we messed up the order can you wait for us to remake". I understand mistakes happen but this counter person was not courteous about the situation AT ALL. There was no apology and it seemed as if he just never gave the cook the order. Very big inconvenience since that was supposed to be my lunch for work... now I will have to spend extra time and money during my break to go find something in the mall :( I usually don't write reviews but I had to warn the people who think the quality is the same as passed years... I now live within walking distance of Bread and Bagels, so I reallyyy wanted to like it there & was hoping it could become my go to bagel joint. Sadly, not the case. I came here one weekend to get some bagels. I entered the store and was surprised at how dated the entire place was. I don't think the store has been updated at all since it's opening. The place could use a good cleaning, and there were a few too many flies buzzing around the food. The staff wasn't overly friendly, just there to take your order and get you out the door. The selection of bagels was okay. I ended up with a chocolate chip bagel which wasn't great. It was flat, skinny and hard. The everything bagel I got for my boyfriend looked much better. Can't give half stars, this is more like a 3.5 star review. This place is a throwback, the outside looks like something you'd see 50+ years ago. They have some of the best pepperoni bread in the area. They have different stuffed breads like a sausage and pepper, cheesesteak, and meatball parmesan. My wife and I were there on Tuesday the 5th and it was horrible. The bagels are on the small side (especially when compared to bagels in NY and at the Bordentown Bagel Shop!). The lady working the register was pathetic. She acted like she didn't want to take our order and and was huffing and puffing when she finally did take it. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese, egg and bacon and a BLT on wheat. I wanted egg whites but the nasty lady at the counter said they don't do egg whites like that is something new or fancy. There was almost NO cream cheese on the bagel at all. It was just a little on the top. The BLT, I ordered dry because most places don't put enough mayo on. When I got home the sandwich was falling apart because they cut the bread so thin and put the tomatos on top of the lettuce so that the thin bread soaked up all the juices and turned to mush! My wife said her bagel was okay but we should have driven the extra 30 minutes to the Bordentown bagel shop. As much as we tried to like this place, we won't ever go back. We've been here a few times in the past and it's always bad but this is the worst!! Never again! read more

Bread and Bagels has been around for as long as I can remember, and nothing much has changed. This however is not a bad thing. No matter how long you have been away, when you come in you are transported back in time. I remember coming in as a small child as my grandmother picked up the ever famous pepperoni bread, I would beg for a black and white cookie (she always obliged). They still have that delicious pepperoni bread, along with a whole wall of other intertwined flavor breads (ham and cheese, onion, tomato cheese, cheesesteak to name a few) and the cookies are still there for the taking! They have sandwiches and typical deli fare as well as a beverage fridge. Startlingly I have never eaten a bagel here, so I cannot comment on them. If you are looking for a modern chic bagel haven you may look elsewhere, but if an authentic piece of Cherry Hill history is what you crave pop in for some nostalgia and of course some pepperoni bread. read more

Everyone in my family refers to this place as "The Bread Basket," which I believe was the original name. I'm not sure when they changed their moniker to the oh-so-creative "Bread and Bagels." Despite the identity crisis, the little shop has been churning out the same delicious breads for years. They have several varieties, but the pepperoni bread remains the favorite at our family gatherings. It is especially delish when heated in the oven for a little crunch, and served with marinara. Yum. In addition to the stuffed breads, they also have, you guessed it, bagels! Eh. It's okay. Ostensibly, the bake their bread fresh daily. I dunno. It's always a little brittle (or really OILY) for me. Maybe that's staleness or maybe that's what their customers like - firm bread. I hear they have some specialties, but I've never been very impressed with anything there. Mom and Pop bakeries remind me of my childhood as my dad worked in a bakery until i was 16. So far we have had bagels which are probably the best in the area. Nice crust and soft insides make a great bagel. They will add cream cheese and apparently have sandwiches as well(i didn't see them, only saw another customer get his order) They also have an assortment of breads. The pepperoni and the ham and cheese roll are amazing. And we ate them cold and they were still delicious. Will buy again and heat them up for what i can only imagine will be greatness. This is by far one of the best places for both bagels, hoagies, pastries and they're famous pepperoni bread. We come here at least once a week for a family breakfast to go and are usually sneak in during the work week for a hoagie. Everything is always super fresh and very well-made. Nothing beats their pepperoni bread for tailgates during football season. The outside of the building might not look like much but there's a reason this place been in business forever. I also LOVE their reuben sandwich. It comes open-faced and has generous amounts of Russian dressing and swiss cheese.. it's also huge and will probably feed you for 2 meals. Their specialty breads can be hit or miss: pepperoni and cheesesteak are both pretty good but always make me wish they had more meat. Try the chocolate horn - it's basically a croissant-like pastry filled with almond paste & raisins drizzled with chocolate on top. Never had the muffins, but they look good. The black & white cookie is as big as your head! Not a fan of microwaved food, so we avoid the hot sandwiches. Tried a cold sandwich once; it was OK. I took a trip early this morning to pick up pepperoni bread that's always a crowd pleaser. Also got 6 bagels one that was a pumpernickel bagel. It was SO Hard that my pitbull dog had problems bitting into it. How could they sell anything that obviously was leftover from days before. I went out of my way for a (Fresh) baked goods!
