Very disappointed with my experience at Sweet Eats Bakery on 310 S Burnt Mill Rd, Voorhees…read moreTownship, NJ 08043. I was quoted $51 for a 10-inch yellow cake, and for that price I expected at least some level of customization and customer service. I wanted a 3-layer yellow cake with real fruit and two different filling flavors between the layers. However, I was told that Sweet Eats Bakery only makes cakes in bulk and that customers must choose from a pre-set list of cake and filling combinations. I was informed that each cake contains two layers of the same filling and that selecting different fillings for each layer was not an option. Wanting to see if an exception could be made for what seemed like a simple request, I spoke with the manager, Bridgett. Unfortunately, she also refused to accommodate the request and reiterated that I had to choose from the existing options. When I asked whether they would rather lose a customer than honor a simple request that would not create any hardship for the bakery, she responded that they would rather lose a customer. At that point, they lost me as a customer. For a bakery charging premium prices, I expected more flexibility, better customer service, and a willingness to work with customers on reasonable requests. Instead, I was told to take it or leave it. I chose to leave it, and I will not be returning. If you're looking for a custom cake tailored to your preferences, this may not be the place for you. I highly recommend Sweet T's Bakeshop in Haddonfield, NJ, they are better anyways!

It left such a negative impression that I chose to take my business elsewhere. Recently, however, I needed to pick up a cake for a friend, so I decided to give Sweet Eats another chance. I'm so glad I did, and it's all because of Alicia. From the moment I walked in, Alicia was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and professional. She took the time to answer all of my questions and was extremely knowledgeable about the bakery's cake options. Her enthusiasm, patience, and genuine desire to help made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. Alicia completely changed my perception of the bakery. Customer service like hers is rare these days, and she deserves recognition for the outstanding job she does. She made me feel valued as a customer and reminded me how much a positive interaction can matter. Thanks to Alicia, Sweet Eats Bakery has earned my business back. She is a true asset to the bakery, and I hope management realizes how fortunate they are to have someone so dedicated, personable, and exceptional representing their business.

Tons of fresh bread smells fill the air, and carts are loaded with different baked goods throughout the space. However, the conveyor belt that hangs above does drop constant bread flakes, and the floor becomes very slippery, which is a legitimate safety concern. With so many carts full of product sitting out, it does make you wonder how long some of the baked goods have been left out. I ordered three large subs online the day before to be prepped for a birthday party we were headed to in Atlantic City the following day. Unfortunately, the staff didn't realize this on their end, and the pickup got extended to 15-20 minutes later with extra help from the back. I think with the rushed work needed, the sandwiches suffered from this. There wasn't much meat and cheese at the end of the sandwiches, and the flavors were just okay, nothing special. The donuts ended up being a little hard with a sort of wet feeling to them. The regular cheesecake slice tasted more like cottage cheese and not much like normal cheesecake, which was disappointing. For a bakery with such a long-standing reputation in the community, I expected better quality control, especially for a pre-ordered party order.

I thought I'd written a review about this place before but to my shock I had not…read more I have been coming here since the day they opened, infrequently beacuse I am diabetic but when I want to spoil my body with delicious sugar, honey, this is *IT*. Now I could tell you all about how perfectly tasty everything is. From the classic banana puddings (I prefer the caramel version myself,) to the cookies, to the pineapple upside-down mini cakes. Yes, I could tell you that. But I want to speak to something deeper. I want to speak to belonging and community; and to fairness. As a biracial person with a brown sister, I feel the pull to support black and brown businesses. It's not a secret. And sometimes you do it, and sometimes you privately think "Damn. I wanna be supportive but this place is a mess." Then there's Sweet Life. NOT that. FILLED with good product at a great price, delivered by owners and staff who actually give a damn about being loving and supportive to all different types of people. And did I mention the sweets are POPPIN'? And to that statement of fairness. Today I came in to place an order, and when the price came up, for a moment I thought "Damn. That is a lot higher than I remembered, but I am not about to question them. They set the price and that price is what they deserve." So I paid. But then I noticed there was more in my bag that I'd asked for, and that there had been a miscommunication. When I tell you that this miscommunication was corrected with swiftness *AND* a smile. No shade. No drama. Just an "Ooops, oh well, here's your refund on the balance." I know this seems very basic but we all know it isn't. We have all been in that awkward situation where as a customer we have to point out an error, and the vendor turns it into a Shakespearan tragedy. Not Sweet Life. "Oops. Sorry! Fixed. Love you." So, to recap: Stunningly delicious sweets. Prices fair as hell. Communicative, inclusive staff doing the right thing. You need to take those money dollers and haul your ass over here TODAY. Now...where did I put my insulin pen?

I ate way more than this pic shows because each flavor is its own unique flavor. The No Nana banana pudding (not shown) is the truth!! If you struggle with dairy and miss banana pudding--- get it. It was my favorite delight. I got my wife the pineapple upside down cake. She loved it! Sweet, slightly gooey and perfectly portioned. The people there are great. That make you feel like you're picking a wedding ring. Giving personal recommendations and the extra sophistication you wouldn't expect at a cupcake place on south street. They have it all and i will go back for more and i highly recommend them, especially the no-nana pudding (not pictured).
