Wanted to love this place. I'm new to the area, so it's ridiculously convenient -- but who cares about convenience if the product and service are subpar? All I wanted was a bagel with cream cheese. How do you get that wrong when it's written on the bag?! But let's back up. When you walk in, don't expect to be greeted. You'll feel invisible. Nobody looks up. It's a small shop, one other customer, and still--nothing. Someone finally takes my order. The same person who made it wrong hands it to me. No personality, no warmth, but the bagel feels warm, so I rush out thinking "how hard could this be?" Spoiler: harder than you'd think. Back at my office -- wrong bagel. I go back. Again, no greeting. I explain, she remakes it, no apology. I check in the car -- looks right this time. Back at the office, I bite in and wish I'd just quit while I was ahead. Heard the buzz so took the trip to try these bagels. The bagel are on point and delicious. They were pumpming them out fresh and warm. They do have breakfast sandwiches but NO MEAT. But the egg and cheese bagel sandwich was great even if it didn't have the bacon or porkroll. Disappointing is what sums this place up best...with their limited hours and kosher kitchen, I had high expectations. With work getting in the way, I'd yet to try The Bagel Spot despite living right next to it. Having consumed their product today, my regret has changed from never stopping by here, to putting their salty, small, and grossly overpriced bagel in my gullet. To start, as others have mentioned, the service is rude to say the least. Don't expect to be greeted or thanked for your order. However, expect to pay more than twice what you should for a bagel that's half the size of what you'd get 75 minutes north of here. The everything bagel was extremely salty, much more than typical. The scallion cream cheese was a tremendous up charge and brought each bagel to nearly $4. The schmear size left much to be desired. What saves this place from 1 star is that the coffee was surprisingly drinkable and the bagels were hot. Don't go out of your way to come here. If you've had good bagels elsewhere (Montreal & metro NYC come to mind), you'll be sorely disappointed in this place that does a tremendous disservice to the public by calling itself "The Bagel Spot." read more

I got a blueberry bagel with vanilla walnut cream cheese. The bagel has an intense blueberry flavor and a nice chew. However, there isn't much of a crust to it. The cream cheese didn't have much of a vanilla flavor and there weren't many walnut pieces. Overall the bagel with cream cheese was alright but it's nothing to rave about. We ordered online through cavier and picked it up at the door. It made me feel safe despite COVID. I grew up at the shore and my whole life I've always heard that you don't get bagels anywhere other then at the shore. I never understood why UNTIL I moved to Camden county. So currently we're all in quarantine. I called to order through the phone. The girl who answered was very polite in taking my order. Took my card number over the phone and told me to be there in 5 minutes. I arrived and there was a sign on the glass that said something along the lines of "call to order only. Pay by card please. We'll come to the door or out to your car" and the girl who handed me my bagel did come out to the door fairly quickly. Which I was very pleased with. So this was my first time ordering from this place. And it was good. I had egg salad on a toasted everything bagel with lettuce and tomato. The price was a little less then $6. The bagel wasn't toasted to my liking. Which isn't anyone's fault. I could tell it was toasted though. Also an everything bagel I'm used to having a lot more of that everything "seasoning" this compared to bagels I've had in the past, wasn't the everything bagel I'm used to but it's cool. The egg salad was good. Overall the bagel wasn't the best, but the egg salad was very good and the customer service was exceptional. Especially during these hard times it's so nice for this small business to be so nice and helpful. A dozen bagels cost just over $20. They're good, but not THAT good. No better than several other bagel places around, including Central Park bagel and Westmont bagel. They are better than ACME. The inside itself probably couldn't look any worse. The staff and service are average. Overall, the appearance of this place is that if a business that is old, established, and just doesn't give a shit anymore. They know they have clients who will patronize them so why try harder. They charge you between five and ten cents to cut a bagel in half. Again, the bagels are good but not like extraordinary so there is no specific reason to get bagels here versus anywhere else. read more

Very good spot for bagels. Bagels are smaller than others in the area but good flavor and chew. Recently tried their tuna melt and was quite happy with their tuna. I prefer tuna salad that isn't full of chunky ingredients and theirs is just the right texture without being overrun by other flavors. I used to live in Cherry Hill and my boyfriend would always grab bagels from the Bagel Spot. This place is pretty close to the bagels you get if you live or have lived in North Jersey. I recently stopped by after craving a pork roll, egg & cheese bagel. I was disappointed when I discovered they are kosher only. However, I quickly recovered after I realized they had garlic & herb cream cheese. One bite into my warm, toasted bagel and it was like heaven. I usually can't finish an entire bagel. I actually wrote down what I wanted, neatly, so the geniuses could get it right. I even came at the end of their work day so there would be no rush or mistakes. I even told them to take their time. Naturally, the workload of three bagels was too much for the THREE workers who had no other customers at the time. Of course when I got home, I immediately had to get back in the car and return to the store. At 12:50 they closed; no more food. They told me (with a fake smile), "Would you like a store credit?". Karen, the owner, cares ONLY about making money; customer service takes a back seat. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else where they appreciate customers and possibly have employees Who are considerably more intelligent and definitely more able then the dreck working at the Bagel Spot. I'm originally from Long Island so I know a thing or two about good bagels LOL! I've been in south jersey for about a year and sometimes I find myself craving a nice bagel with cream cheese on lazy weekends. This place is so close to me, and near a CVS so today when I found myself in the plaza before they closed (2PM) I stopped in to pick up some fresh bagels. The place is tiny. No place to sit and eat so you gotta take them to go. I went in around noon and the bagel bins were pretty empty. The only options were plain, everything, and cinnamon raisin. The girl took my order, 2 everything bagels and scallion cream cheese. I got a plain hot coffee for my boyfriend, they had large serve yourself options of regular and decaf. A different lady was ringing me up for the bagels. I can only assume she was the owner. She kinda ignored me at first despite my bagels sitting on the counter because she was busy chatting with another worker who was leaving. Finally when she acknowledged me she was ringing me up for a large catering order. I told her twice what my order was but was still shocked at the $9 price tag for a relatively small order. When I got home with the bagels I was kinda surprised to see the skimpy portion of cream cheese (for such a hefty price tag) and the bagel was pretty salty. My boyfriend said the coffee was pretty good. Overall I probably won't be returning here. I'll stick to bringing bagels back with me from my trips to Long Island. read more

This hole in the wall has the freshest bagels! It's takeout only so don't expect to dine in. They have a large variety of about 20 different flavors. The display is nice and simple. Bagels are thrown in bins that are stacked in rows. Labeled nicely. They even have the rainbow bagel here. It tasted just like a plain bagel but with a strange after taste. Looks really cute though. I usually just come here for a plain bagel with cream cheese. Tell them easy on the cream cheese or else you'll be eating more cream cheese than bagel. Came in for a breakfast sandwich, and low and behold that great smell of fresh bagels hits you. Game on I said, lets take a moment to see what they were all about. It is obvious they are known for their bagels seeing it had a good crowd in there. After scanning what I was going to devour I noticed that they are proficient with the lines, it was like watching the "Soup Nazi " (Seinfeld ) at work. Here is how it works you order, pay, move out of the way for the next customer, the " Bagel Nazi " was at work. Now it was my turn with a fresh batch of sesame that had just came out I went with two, sesame and a french toast bagel both will be toasted. Both bagels looked like a great option now it comes time to address the situation. Who gets what with what ! Good ole Frenchy is getting cream cheese, a regular for the french toast, because I want to taste this bad boy which by the way tasted unbelievable. For the sesame I went with a ham egg and cheese route another great score . The wait time isn't bad, as you are waiting you can grab a fresh cup of coffee, watch them do their thing as they file people in and out. Customer service was OK with this place being busy, they handled things just fine. I agree with one of the other reviewers Doug on the whole " chit chat " thing. I was coming in on my way to my godfathers house to do some work. Normally I like to talk it up but this was in the morning I had to get in and get out. Something terrible has happened?! I generally don't try to eat bagels very often unless I'm with a group of people that decide to go. After no luck trying to get a real sit down brunch at noon on a spring Sunday, we opted for bagels because we were getting hangry. I took everyone to this place, my old spot since the Talk of the Town days... but everything is different now. They've "renovated" but it's not really all that much nicer. We asked for four bagels today, toasted. When we got home, none of them were that toasted. My friend ordered an egg and cheese, and the eggs are the microwaved kind, even though they could easily have made something fresh for the prices they're charging. 3 bagels with cream cheese, 1 egg and cheese, and 2 orange juices cost $20. I'm really sad since for the first time in decades, I don't think this is going to be my bagel spot anymore! read more

The Bagel Spot is the best spot to get bagels in Cherry Hill. Located right off Kings Highway, The Bagel Spot is tucked away into a never crowded strip mall. Although The Bagel Spot itself can get pretty crowded, especially Sunday mornings after church lets out, so if you want to get a specific flavor- get there early. The Bagel Spot offers all kinds of bagels, of course they have the typical flavors; chocolate chip, egg, blue berry, poppy seed, everything, etc. But they also offer some awesome special ones. My personal favorite is the french toast, delicious (to make it even better, I suggest heating it up). They also make green bagels for certain occasions such as Eagles play off games and St. Patrick's Day. There are a few different breakfast options other than bagels- but if you're not getting a bagel, why would you come to somewhere called the BAGEL spot? They are Kosher certified, so no meats. The store isn't huge, and there really isn't anywhere to sit. All of the bagels are behind a glass with labels of their flavor. You can easily tell who the newbies are, as they aren't accustomed to the ordering process. When you enter the cramped space, quickly decide what you want while you're in line, place and pay for your order at the register, then move aside to wait for your order to come out. Do not linger at the register. I've been coming to The Bagel Spot since I can remember, and have never experienced bad service. The staff here is always busy, so they might not so as much attention to customer as a Starbucks might, but I've never found them to be rude. read more

Having just spent the last 20 years on the west coast moaning about the lack of good bagels, it was convenient to have this place just down the road from my new home. The bagels are AWESOME here. Been coming here for about 20 years, so that tells you something. I love all their bagels, but my favorite is the "Everything" bagel, which I like to use to make pizza bagels. Removed a star for customer service.
