I stopped by K & A Bagel Cafe a few weeks ago and had a really great experience. The service was friendly and quick, and the staff made the whole visit feel welcoming. The food was also really good. I have to tell you, the Smears cream cheeses this guy makes weekly are unbelievable. Today, I got the peach cobbler cream cheese; it takes all bagels to the next level. I love a good breakfast sandwich. There is something comforting about breakfast sandwiches and for some reason, they always taste so much better out than when you try to make one at home. I was picking up some donuts at Mochiring after my workout nearby. I know that sounds counterproductive, but it's why I work out. Anyway, I hadn't eaten breakfast and it was already closing in on noon so I decided to give K&A a try. The first thing I noticed there were a few people waiting for their orders, it was almost lunchtime and they were still pretty busy. Always a good sign, K&A Bagel Cafe has a lot of selections for different sandwiches and a nice selection of bagels. I went pretty basic and ordered the egg, cheese and bacon on an everything bagel. The bagel was outstanding. One of the better ones I have had. The complete breakfast sandwich also was very good. The bacon was crispy and the eggs fluffy. More hole than bagel. Seriously, the bagels are tiny for the price since the hole is huge. In addition, I like diced tomato on my bagel and can't do that with this bagel because the food falls through. On the positive side the bagel tastes good. It's a hard bagel, not my preference. read more

Wow!! This place is SO good!!! Our group of four ordered four different bagel sandwiches, plus a dessert bagel to split during a mid morning rush. The wait wasn't too long and the bagels were excellent. I loved that the everything bagel was seasoned on all sides. The cream cheese was excellent and I had a generous portion of lox, fresh cucumber, tomato, and onion - just the way I like it! My sister had the pork roll, egg, and cheese and it was delicious and HOT! We all left feeling full and satisfied. Please check this place out. Excellent food and friendly service!! K & A bagel is a legit bagel shop with handmade bagels and a wide assortment of spreads and sandwiches. The bagels are not the modern giant New York size, where they are so fat and rise so much that the hole closes up. No. These are a little dense but NORMAL old fashioned bagels that don't overwhelm whatever you put on of them. We haven't tried many of the sandwiches but the variety is vast. The salmon cream cheese is terrific, with actual visible bits of salmon. The whitefish salad isn't as thick and chunky as I like but it's legit and flavorful. My hubby saw the reviews and went out if our way for a visit. We should have walked after seeing how filthy everything was at 10am. Both behind the counter, the cooking station, and the sitting area was disgusting. We wound up getting bagels with some eggs and cream cheese. Despite ordering them toasted and taking 10 minutes to make, they were not toasted and we were already on the highway before realizing. Been here twice, though the second time was by accident. Came in for a quick family breakfast. The space is small, with only 3 small tables for 2 and a loveseat. The bagels were just okay for me--I'm a Jersey native, and there are definitely better options out there. Also noticed young children behind the counter, which was a bit off-putting. Not sure how I feel about that. Overall, it's fine but wouldn't make it my go-to spot. read more

I've been here several times. Each time I have the best bagel ever- the day breaker but swap corned beef to sausage. It's absolutely delicious and filling meal. I have had it on a cheddar bagel and everything bagel. Unfortunately they have not made it to the phone yet because i am a hangry morning person. Maybe some day. Some words of the wise: It seems like they do not charge extra for special bagels (ie french toast) so do not be afraid to try different flavors! Went there on a recommendation. I wasn't too impressed when I saw the bagels but trusted the person who sent me. I got a coffee and a bagel with butter and egg. Girl at counter was pleasant and confirmed what I wanted. However, the coffee was barely lukewarm so I dumped and tried another container. That one was hot. The bagel literally tasted like nothing. I took another bite to be sure and could not even try for third. There was something on it but I'm not sure if it was butter or some type of oil. It did not taste like butter or anything really. The egg part was fine. Place is a bit run down. Only one other customer was there which should have been a giveaway too. I wont be back. I went out of my way to visit based on the Yelp reviews and skipped a different place. The first thing is not their fault but their parking lot entrance is obstructed by roadwork. I missed the entrance with all the heavy traffic headed to Philadelphia on one of the worst roads in the area. No easy way to turn around because there is a cement barrier in the center of the road. So I parked a few businesses down and walked, which was pretty unpleasant. I was the only customer at the counter, but the girl seemed to just not be listening because what I told her she had to re-ask me twice. Finally decided I'll just get a plain bagel to go. I got an egg bagel it cost $1.60. Quality was nothing special. It was dry and unremarkable. Definitely wasn't worth going out of my way. I have had better egg bagels in New Jersey. read more

The opportunity to check out K&A Bagel Cafe was too great to pass up. Already in the shopping strip for a Yelp Elite event at Mochi Ring, I saw K&A and wanted to sample this bagel emporium and compare it to others in and around this part of The Garden State. First thing noticed walking in was this was a spray paint graffiti paradise. Walls covered in bright neon colors shouting words like, "Bagels," "Coffee," "Eggs," and other loud references to the delectables offered there. They had ample bagel flavors and active open kitchen to keep the orders flowing. My simple request for onion bagel with veggie cream cheese was taken by the cashier/owner, who was proud of his business and happy to engage in answering my questions. I have to confess that I didn't start to consume my purchase until after funning with the mochi rings for a while, so on this rainy day the perfect blush of the bagel may have been in the elements too long to be at its peak texture and flavor. Still, even after a few hours bagged in my car, it had excellent taste both bagel and spread, although I suspected that the density was more than ideal due to the excess humidity. I won't grade down for that because the delay was totally on me. Cherry Hill is not my normal domain, and it is unlikely I will traveling in that direction anytime soon. But, if I found myself within hailing distance of K&A, I would enjoy stopping in to eat another of their creations in its prime. read more

Very good bagels with a deceiving look. Definitely not a NY hand rolled bagel but they were very good. It's a tiny shop with not much variety of bagels or spreads but they do make a decent bagel for the area. I tried the everything bagel and the salt bagel and both were good with the right amount of seasoning. The lox spread was very good as well. These bagels also come back to life surprisingly well after cutting, freezing, 30 seconds in the microwave, then toasting (in that order). read more

The bagels were delicious, they had a wide variety of choices and the prices were very reasonable. I ordered the sesame bagel with cream cheese and a Pork roll egg and cheese on a plain bagel. My friend and I split it and had half of each. The pork roll egg and cheese was great. It had just the right amount of pork roll and cheese and tasted fresh. The bagels were also fresh and were definitely baked that morning. I would highly recommend this bagel place to anyone in the area or just driving by. I normally don't do this because I don't want to negatively affect a business. This is intended to help the business owner who may not know how his staff serves customers. I was in the store on 8/16 at 11:30 and it was not busy. As I approached the register, a gentleman cut me off and proceeded to tell the young girl at the counter his order. My daughter and I stood there in disbelief as we expected her to stop him and tell him she would help him after she took our order. She did not. We waited and she then took our order and I skipped the tip (I tip in cash). When she noticed this she made an audible gasp, gave me my receipt, proceeded to take the ticket to the 2 line cook girls and point to my daughter and I and say "that lady didn't tip us". The line cooks said "oh should we burn the bagels?" Well, they did not burn them, they didn't toast them at all. My concern is that they had no idea that I tipped them $5 in the jar on an order of 2 bagels because they were too busy scheming a way to mess up the order thinking they deserved a tip in the first place. Please tell me you pay these girls at least minimum wage and they should earn tips for EXCEPTIONAL service. I am appalled at the audacity of these three girls and to speak this way in front of any customer over bagel service. When you see them next please let them know they did receive a tip even after they so rudely did not provide me with the order placed. Shame shame. read more

First time here and was shocked on a Friday morning after 9am how packed it was. The service was fast and friendly and instead of calling out a name or number someone hands you your order. Very nice touch. Makes it much more personable which explains why it was busy the entire time I was there eating my bagel sandwich. The sandwich was good and I decided to try their bagel roll which is a bagel without the hole in the middle. I've lived in this area for a couple of years and long story short: K&A has the best bagels around, by far! You can taste the freshness and that they aren't BS'ing when they say they make bagels the right way, boiling them themselves. While they aren't HUGE, they're nicely-sized bagels. There's always a good selection of flavored cream cheeses to go on top: some sweet (today they had a brown sugar one and a honey nut), some savory (roasted red pepper, scallion), regular, and they even have flavored butters like garlic. The only thing that loses a star for me is the quantity of cream cheese applied today. It was delicious, but I found that my everything bagel wasn't evenly topped with the scallion cream cheese. If they'd used just a bit more, it would've been perfect. Service is always fast and friendly, there are restrooms and plenty of seating as well. They also have some cookies, muffins, and some non-breakfast items. I'll definitely go back, hoping that there's just a bit more cream cheese atop the crispy yet soft and chewy bagel! read more

My husband and I have tried many bagel places across south jersey and this place has some of the best bagels in the area. The honey wheat bagel has a fragrant honey scent but it's not too sweet. As for the wheat bagel, I really like how there are oats on the top since it provides a nice contrast to the bagel itself. The bagels have a nice chew and not too much of a crust. As for their breakfast sandwiches, the portions are big and hardy. At least for the egg and cheese sandwiches, there is a great balance between the creamy cheese and salty sausage.
