He showed up the same day, got his guys out there three days later. The quality of the installation cannot be overstated. Guys who truly care about the quality of their workmanship. They screwed down my subfloor so it doesn't squeak and they were able to avoid using transition. I have a masonry fireplace and was resigned to having it undercut, but the installers went out of their way to manage it so they didn't have to. My only regret is that I didn't tip his guys MORE. THIS IS THE TEAM YOU WANT TO DO YOUR FLOORS. Prices are great too. But let me tell you, after MONTHS of dealing with other contractors- they'd be worth it at a much higher price.

But even better than the floors themselves was the incredible service. From the initial contact with owner Marty -- genuinely one of the nicest guys you will EVER meet -- to the professionalism and efficiency of his crew, the whole process was smooth as silk. The crew are all great guys, pleasant to interact with. Marty and his associate Mark have been working together for decades, and it shows. When these guys say they will be there to start work at 9:00 a.m., there they are -- right on time. These guys are experts at what they do, and their cleanup after the job was perfect. I had thought that their gorgeous rugs were out of my price range, but they were so great in taking the time to help me find something I loved that I could afford. I continue to return to the store just to browse (it's gorgeous, one of the nicest places in Chapel Hill). There is never any pressure to buy. If I had more money, I would get a new rug from them every year. They are also incredibly knowledgeable about the rugs they sell as well as their provenance. If I understand correctly, they travel several times a year to the middle east and beyond to insure that the rugs are built to their exacting standards. A visit to the store is a history lesson in the art of weaving itself! Even if you can't afford to buy a rug, you should stop by just to meet these friendly locals.
