    NUTELLA & CARAMEL WAFFLE
    Daren R.

Brand new gourmet waffle shop in the Sawgrass Mills Mall. The scent of waffles cooking got our undivided attention. Met with the owner/chef who explained the ten custom waffles. The Nutella Caramel Waffle brought tears of joy to my eyes - those two toppings blended perfectly with the warmth of the fresh Belgian waffle right off the griddle. The taste was great but the $7.99 price was superb. Will try the Rocky Road Waffle on my next mall visit, since I love marshmallows. If you're not into waffles for some odd reason, they offer small chocolate croissants 2/$3.

Very yummy food and great people run the business :) Mini pancakes are delicious, highly recommend :)

Amazing! They were the best pancakes I ever had, the lady was so nice and friendly. I will visit again

The restaurant had a fair amount of diners; but we only had to wait 2-3 minutes before being seated. Our server approached us quickly and we actually had to suggest they come back so we'd have time to look over the menu. I decided on the Hunter & Gatherer bowl which consisted of some greens, chickpeas, farro and grilled chicken with a honey mustard vinaigrette. It was a huge portion and quite good. My mom had the omelette which was cooked to perfection and came with 2 slices of multigrain toast. Everything was yummy and the service was fast. Next time I won't wait so long before returning!

The interior is all hard surfaces...so it's loud. I'd recommend brining a bullhorn or a portable mic and speaker with you. Our waitress could not hear us. Try tablecloths or some tapestries on the walls, Maple and Cream management...anything to absorb some sound. Not that our waitress was around that much to hear us scream our order at the top of our lungs. This was an insult, as a 20 percent gratuity was automatically added to our check. The waitress did not deserve a 20 percent tip. She did not even serve 5 percent. And the parking is non existent. I had to park in a garage and walk down a roadway with no sidewalks to get to the place after dropping my wife and daughter off. I don't understand how people have given this place an average of four stars. Don't waste your money.

Ally's Comfort Cafe - 136th and State Road 84 in Davie…read more I really did not want to leave this review. I tried with all of my might to do everything I could to not leave this review. Ally's comfort Café has been a staple in Northwest Davie forever. *Now, Ally, moved away a little while ago and new owners took over. They kept the same recipes which made us hopeful that things would pretty much remain the same. But little by little all of the staff that had been there for years started leaving. I think there's only a couple of the longtime staff left. We'll get back to the staff in a moment. My wife and I go to Ally's every Saturday morning. We go there have a great breakfast and then go to the Publix next-door to do our weekly shopping. There's obviously going to be hiccups when new owners take over a restaurant. We totally understand this. But some things are just not improving. They open at 8 AM on Saturdays. But, between 8 and 9 AM there's only one waitress and one bus boy this didn't always used to be the case. They used to have the full staff and someone at the door to take names. He would also help out by getting you drinks or more coffee if you needed it. It worked really well for the small family restaurant. The new owners took over and at some point they decided they only needed limited staff between 8 and 9 AM on Saturdays. And of course, every Saturday my wife and I go in there. It gets packed and the waitress is running around like her head is cut off and the busboy is overwhelmed. This isn't a one time thing it has been constant since they made the staffing change. It's completely unfair to the waitress and busboy and it's also a complete turn off to patrons who have to wait sometimes up to 10 or 15 minutes just for the poor waitress to come and take their order this morning. A couple waited 20 minutes before their order was taken. Also, the owner/manager doesn't get there until almost 9 herself, which means there's no management in the restaurant to help with the register or put out "fires." It. Is. Not. Working. Ally's has been known for their specials for years. They always have amazing special pancakes and special French toast. It's one of the main reasons we still go there. It's our little weekly treat. Lately the specials have been very monotonous. Some sort of jelly put on some French toast or some sort of cream put on a pancake. Not real imaginative for instance, today was banana cream and chocolate pancakes. It was a dollop of banana cream on a chocolate pancake that had little taste. One could've added some fresh bananas, or maybe some whipped cream on top of that. Meanwhile, the special pancakes and special French toast are often made wrong by the staff. This happened this morning. It took them twice to get the pancakes right and three times to get the French toast, right. Again, this is not a one time occur occurrence. We never complain. But we were surprised to still see those items on the bill and not discounted at all, but that's OK. The thing that really drove me to write this review, is that I waited for more than 10 minutes to speak to the owner/manager on our way out. I thought the best way to handle our dissatisfaction would be to speak to her personally. She disappeared into the kitchen, and even after the waitress went to tell her we were waiting to speak with her, she was nowhere to be found. No I understand things come up in the kitchen, but she could've at least came out and said hey I know you're here, I'm dealing with a problem, I'll be right back. But we waited and waited and waited and nothing despite all of the above, that's what irked me the most. I will say this. The food is still very good. And the waitresses and buses are amazing. None of this is their fault. They should all be paid more in dealing with a kitchen that can't get right and an owner that can't seem to figure out good customer service. We will certainly give them another chance, it's part of our routine. But after biting my tongue, I had to let everyone know what was happening at one of our favorite spots in Broward County.

If you have kids, the outdoor seating is perfect because they can run around the plaza while you relax and eat. It makes it a lot less stressful than a typical sit-down restaurant with little ones. The only thing is the inside seating is pretty tight, so if it's busy it can feel a little cramped indoors. But if you can grab a table outside, it's definitely the way to go. Overall a really solid breakfast/brunch spot and a great option for families in the area. Would definitely come back.

I offered to exchange since it was full cup but they didn't want anything else from the coffee menu ++Chorizo bowl, small amount of chorizo, I'm not looking for a bowl full of chorizo but it felt like it was a sweet potato bowl with a few sprinkles of chorizo. The egg was perfectly cooked, but lowkey hiding the fact there was not much chorizo. ++Avocado toast, really small amount of an avocado spread, egg was perfect. The lunch menu might be better, and there are a lot of people coming to check this place out, we saw lots of big groups and kids and dogs it's in a good newer residential area, however these details are important when the item is called chorizo bowl, with little chorizo, and avocado toast with little avocado. So this is not a staff note, but probably a management note that they should put the correct product out.

As titanium Marriott bonvoy members, we received a breakfast voucher each morning of our stay, which is good for your choice of coffee or orange juice and an entree from a select menu (see pics). I found the select menu to have many great options. I had the "smothered burrito" which was huge and delicious and did not have any beans. The "traditional eggs Benedict" was typical and came with a large portion of their potatoes- yum. The "huevos rancheros" was great too but I wished it had those potatoes. My husband had the "applewood bacon and poached egg avocado toast" twice because it was so good. We ordered two additional eggs sunny to go with it, as that dish only had one poached egg. He also got the "two eggs your way" which comes with choice of protein, potatoes and two slices of sourdough toast w butter (no jam). He ordered bacon egg and cheese taco with that dish to maximize his protein intake. That was tasty. Everything we ate here was a good portion. I saw the regular menu. Dishes are about $16. The pancakes looked awesome- maybe we will get that next time. Pancakes would pair well with the hash- it looks like a huge dish. They have a breakfast cocktail menu. I had the bloody Maria (nothing special but it said house made bloody mix so I wanted to try it), which came with a celery stick. I think next time I'll do the coffee inspired cocktails. Those sound amazing. We ate inside because the wind was crazy like 25mph. We ate outside one day, when the wind wasn't as bad, and found that there are some pesky birds trying to steal food off of server trays. So if you don't want the birds, sit inside. The place gets busy; you can make a reservation. We never had to wait in line long or wait for a table, but I think that's because we're hotel guests. Once sat, we did wait more than 20 min to receive our food. But it's ok. The coffee is good. The restaurant turns into Lona for lunch and dinner. They give you the Lona drink menu for breakfast too if you're more in the mood for a margarita. Bar seating is first come first served. Bathrooms are inside the hotel lobby. There is no parking for the restaurant but you can valet.

My order consisted of the Machaca Skillet and a side of Papas Racheras (potatoes). The positives were, a) the portion size (massive amount of food) and b) the great flavor of the Machaca (shredded beef with onions, bell pepper & tomato. Now the negatives, a) the 3 poached eggs were all over-cooked/hard yolks, b) the side of potatoes were cold and had an unappealing texture. I'm not positive but I have a feeling they were left over from the day before because I arrived at 7am which is when this restaurant opens so if they made the potatoes fresh they couldn't have been this bad and c) after the waiter took my order and never saw him again until I was ready for the bill. He never checked in on me which is a shame because I had pierced all 3 eggs to show him the hard yolks and ate very slowly so the proof would be on the plate when he checked on me but alas, he never showed. If I lived in the area I may give them another try because of the potential with this dish.

We were greeted half heartedly and placed to be sat at a two seater table in a hallway. We were looked at odd for coming in with a stroller; the woman seemed annoyed by that. The tables are a bit too close to each other so trying to navigate having a stroller next to us was a bit uncomfortable. Our waitress came, brought water which was lukewarm, not iced. The food was average at best and overpriced I ordered the brigadeiro latte which did not come hot as a latte should, it was half cold and for almost $10, not worth it. My sister in law ordered the Ham and cheese croissant, which again for the price of $16 was not worth it-I've had better at Burger King. I ordered the bacon Benedict which was just alright, you can tell they don't use high quality ingredients, definitely not worth the $21 price tag. What really surprised me was the included tip for a table of 2. All in all we spent over $50 for the two mediocre plates and one coffee. I will not be back there are plenty of other spots in the area who welcome women with children and offer better food, service, and drinks at a lower cost.
