It was supposed to curve up my back but Ed was completely confused about what I wanted or what deep meaning this tattoo might have for me.

For my 1st tattoo, I chose this location because of the great reviews of the business, of the owners, of the accuracy of customer's tattoo designs and the happiness of past customers in their reviews of their experiences. While I ultimately chose not to meet with the artist for another session and my tattoo is unfinished, I do believe I received very poor service in return for an inflated price. For two fairly large, solid black tattoos with no intricate detailing, I was given the price of $800 per 4-hour session and was told I would need more than one 4-hour session. I did not know this is not a normal or appropriate price for the tattoos I wanted. Marsha presented this price and it is clear to me now that the confusion and discussions that she and Ed then had about this price were because Ed also sensed this price was too high. She framed this price as being somehow a discount when it was equal to being charged by the hour, not a discount or fair price at all. Ed looked at her silently as if to say, woah that's a bit high a price. She is dishonest. After agreeing on a design during the first consultation, I returned for my first session and the stencils looked as promised. I had sent Marsha a further email with a clearer design concept and though she emailed back to say she would pass along the photos to Ed, he had not actually considered them at all by the time I came in for my first session. When the stencils were placed, it became obvious that Ed forgot what design we had initially agreed upon because his stencils were backwards and pointing in the wrong direction in comparison to the original fairly simple tattoo idea. He seemed confused by my comments about the direction of my tattoo and instead of being a perfectionist (like he said ADAMANTLY that he was), pausing and remaking the stencils, Ed chose to haphazardly place the stencils on me, twisting them to fit approximately to the idea I wanted. This left an inaccurate, smudged mess. After fiddling with rulers and measuring tape and inexpertly freehanding one side of my tattoo that I paid $800 to get expertly and professionally done, Ed and Marsha attempted to convince me that my tattoo was even and symmetrical and that this new opposite direction to my original idea was, in the end, going to look exactly the way I wanted. (My tattoo idea was of two simple curves curving from the front of my hips, around my waist and ending upwards on my back. The stencils had now been placed with the curve ends pointing down my back with no curved up my back.) I said twice aloud that I did not want my tattoo to go downward on my back. Ed and Marsha assured me both times that my tattoo was not going to go downward on my back and that they were only going to complete the front of tattoo, the front of my hips where the stencils were most accurate. I believed them and that we were only going to tattoo the front piece of the tattoo and then stop to decide how best to continue the back portion of my tattoo. During the actual tattoo process, I could feel Ed tattooing downward like he said he wouldn't. I stopped him to say again that I did not want my tattoo to go downward. He looked at me, annoyed by the interruption and irritatedly said, Yeah, I know. He then continued giving me what I did not want. It was too late then to stop him and I am not one to be confrontational and belligerent. I could have gotten mad & loud but I am not that person nor am I great at standing up for myself. The end result of this 4-hour session was an uneven, wobbly-lined pair of tattoos that Ed at one point had me eyeball for him as to the accuracy of one of the curves. He insisted that it was my hypercritical eye and my twisting and turning in the mirror that may lead me to think that the lines were bad, wrong, awful and inexact. It is not my eyes, nor my stretched skin. The problem is the linework and the application. The problem is the artist. In the four days after my tattoo before I emailed to cancel the next appointment in which Ed said all would be corrected somehow and then I could be charged another $800 for the addition of a second portion to my tattoo that was only supposed to be two simple curves, I received no word or call or email from Marsha who was meant to check in on me. In my opinion, Ed overcharges. In my opinion, Ed is not a good artist. In my opinion, Ed is unprofessional. I should have spoken up before paying the nonrefundable deposit and full payment. I should have spoken up when I saw the amateurish mess Ed was making of the stencils for my tattoo. Communicate well & LOUD if you use him. Ed is a cheat, a thief and an amateur. His wife is a dishonest, unreliable and untrustworthy. I have paid $3500 to have this tattoo laser removed. This was my very first tattoo and I was had and swindled and it is unfair that many other customers got a patient, understanding and helpful version of Marsha and Ed but I met two thieves.

I've trusted her with over FIVE of my piercings... nose and 4 placements on my ears as a curation from Deja herself. and at this point, I wouldn't even consider going to anyone else. Her precision is unmatched, her bedside manner is calming (which matters when you're nervous!), and her attention to hygiene and placement is exactly what you want when you're putting permanent trust in someone's hands. Every appointment feels intentional she takes the time to explain placement, anatomy, healing expectations, and aftercare so thoroughly that you leave feeling confident, not confused. And let's talk about the results... every single piercing she's done for me healed beautifully and looks perfectly balanced with my features. That kind of eye for detail is rare. Beyond her technical skill, her energy is what keeps clients loyal. She's warm, professional, and genuinely cares about how your piercing fits you, not just what's trendy. That level of personalization is why her work stands out and why I'll always go back. If you're even thinking about getting pierced, stop searching. Book with Deja. Period. You won't just get a piercing...you'll get an expert experience, flawless placement, and a piercer you'll want to keep for life. Curated ears are a vibe. Nobody else will have what you have in a world where everybody gets their piercings done.
