Great service by Nelson. He was patient and nice. Quick service as well. Clean place.

Artists were quick, friendly, and very experienced. Tattoo healed beautifully with very little bleeding and scabbing. read more

I have gotten tattoos by them for years. As well as other members of my family. I love the work ethic and is always a good vibe. Not only do you get a nice tattoo design but you also get really good conversations about pretty much anything. I highly recommend getting tattoos by them. read more

I can't speak to the tattoos at this place, but DO NOT let them near anything you want pierced. I had to remove a ton of piercing jewelry due to major surgery, and wanted to have it put back in before the holes started to tighten up. The dude who did it was clumsy and didn't seem to know what the hell he was doing - several times dropping the rings, and then wrenching my ears & nose into painful contorted positions. It was on me that I didn't just get up and walk out. But I was being "nice," like an idiot. The dude even tried to convince me that several of the holes, which I've had for a decade or more, had already closed up - a mere 8 DAYS after my surgery - and asserted that they would have to charge me more to re-pierce those spots. I insisted on trying those holes myself with a needle, and "voila!" no issue getting through whatsoever. Scammers, and not even good ones. When I got home and could take a better look, it was apparent that many of the hoops had not been fully closed, and those that had been closed were terribly misaligned, with the ends overlapping. I had to go to a REAL piercing studio the next day and have most of them redone. Several of the hoops had been so badly bent into what the professional piercer called "pointy little football shapes" that they couldn't be salvaged, and I had to buy new surgical steel jewelry. Sorry, but you seriously blew it. read more

I had a great experience. I walked in not knowing what I wanted and walked out with a great work of art on my foot. The owner was very calm and patient with helping me decide on what kind of tattoo I wanted along with the the design, font and placement. Carlos the tattoo artist did a fantastic job on my foot tattoo. Staff are super professional, friendly and funny. I will be coming back if I need any more pieces done. read more

Tattoo quality was horrible honestly within a few weeks whole tattoo is gone... instead of making thicker lines made thin thin lines that then faded and now are gone read more

I love this tattoo shop. Rane Felix is the best tattoo artist in my opinion hands down. He's professional and efficient. I haven't had any problems with him. He is always busy. I like his work he's done over 6 of my tattoos every year it's been excellent. I don't regret it. He's very clean and his drawings are very unique. read more

Manager sucks ass. Rude. Very rude! Cashier and other artist is nice! ( the one on Amsterdam btw) cause I couldn't find it on here!

got a Christina piercing done In January along with nipple piercings. My nipples were pierced before so he just did the piercing where the older holes were and they were fine. The Christina piercing was a brand new piercing. First thing is it was too low. I wasn't really crazy about it because it was already done so there's nothing i could do. Second thing is that it was NOT in the middle. It is very easy when you're looking at something straight to find the middle. It doesn't have to be perfect (even though im paying enough money for it to be) but somewhat close. The piercing was so off that when i really looked at it 2 days later I cried and thought about taking it off but it was so painful that I felt i should have just stuck with it. But the worst part issss. That since the piercing was at an incorrect angle it was putting pressure and created a bump. So i treated the bump with what they gave me which was salt water and tea tree oil. And it seemed to have made it worse. In the end i had to take out the piercing and now I have a bum and scar tissue behind the piercing because of the pressure from the piercing. I also went to a gynecologist to confirm this if the bump does not go away in 3-4 weeks i will have to remove the scar tissue surgically according to my doctor. Thank you. Never again. read more

Got inked by the owner Manny. He's an incredible artist who has amazing hands. He doesn't do outlining and ensuring the image is smoothly done, without hard edges. Manny is fully aware if I'm in pain, he ensure minimizing the pain to his client. Great place and great artist to get your tattoo done read more

Just got my cartilage pierced here. The manager asked me to wait for a while as my piercer was outlining a tat for someone. No problem. The piercer wore gloves, the needle was new in a package and he cleaned the stud as well as my ear beforehand. He gave me instructions on how to care for my piercing and told me to come back and ask for him if I had any issues. Awesome! Thanks Gio! read more

Terrible tattoos. The owner doesn't care to be corrected. Everything is an "I apologize" in a sarcastic tone. And they litter cars with fake parking tickets to advertise. I guarantee the owner will come in here with a "I'm sorry you didn't enjoy our advertisement" response. read more

Red Dragon Tattoo - I need to touch it up soon but this was the first one I got, almost 10 months ago. - Tattoo Near Me - New York, New York

Your welcome Manny .....yes I already picked two pieces I want to do so I will definitely be back soon.

I first went to Red Dragon in January 2015 to get my back tattoo fixed/covered by Manny, who I was recommended to by a friend. The experience then was great... but I was told that my tattoo needed a second session. I have been basically begging Manny to secure this second session since January. IT IS NOVEMBER 2015. I have had to basically stalk this man, from calling, texting, DMing on Instagram... everything. I even went into Red Dragon, got a whole new tattoo by another amazing artist and piercings... and still NO Manny. I've been so patient but I've had it. It's been so frustrating being dealt with so unprofessionally by the owner of the whole shop. I feel devalued-- I am not sure what it is about me that doesn't deserve professionalism or if that's just how RD operates but I am disappointed. read more

I just got a back piece done here 8/18/13 by Lenin Rios and I couldn't be more pleased. The tat is beautiful and far surpasses my original vision of the picture I brought in to customize. Lenin kept the basic flower design, but added a background and his own individual stamp and artistry to make the tat pop.The price, too, was very reasonable for the labor and overall size of the tat. The parlor itself is comfortable, clean and welcoming and the staff is laidback and friendly. I enjoyed the music they played during my session. There was just a little more traffic in the room Lenin used than I would have liked as it was also the room where piercings are done and there were a few customers who came in for piercings while I was having my tat done. Otherwise, I loved the service and would definitely recommend it and return for any future tats, especially if I can get Lenin as my artist. read more

I went to get my lip pierced. I already had the other side done. It wasn't a horrible experience but unfortunately my right side doesn't match my left and it is infected. Now I know it isn't all their fault but I have had my face pierced a lot. Like a lot a lot and this hasn't happened before. So I am extremely concerned. Not just because it doesn't match my left side at all but because it is looking really bad. I am very disappointed. The guy who did it was super cool but his hand were shaking a lot. But I was already in the seat so I said fuck it. Since I didn't think it would be hard to do. Not going to risk coming to this place again. Should have tried one of the other 3 places near by. This sucks. Go at your own risk. Update: had to take piercing out now I am left with a crazy looking lifted bump. That looks like I have something wrong with my mouth. Thanks guys! Thanks soooo much. Don't go here. read more

Small place. Not the nicest shop I have been to. Also, not much, if any, privacy. I had been here before for a piercing, though, and that was fine, so I gave it another chance. The guy that did my tattoo (whose name I don't recall) was friendly enough, but he messed it up!! Unfortunately, other than a total cover-up, it can't really be fixed. Fail. read more

Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from this place I usually don't even do reviews but I just had to let people know what a horrible job they do before anybody else made the mistake of getting a tattoo there and having to possibly look at the horrible scribble scrabble they put on your body for the rest of your life or end up having to spend hundreds more on a cover up. To top it off I got a piercing the same day and ended up having to take it out and let it close after all the pain I endured to get it because he pierced it wrong and it was crooked!!! Can you say PISSED? read more

Lets just say I wanted to love this place but the service kept me from it. My friend got a tat from here a few days ago and I loved it so I was excited to give it a shot. I came straight from work in midtown to the shop with intent of getting inked. I walked in and was immediately approached by Jay who asked me what I wanted. I told him and he bought over an artist to help me. He then told me that he had an appointment so they pawned me off to some young boy who barely spoke English! I told him what I wanted and he asked if I had a pic. I showed him and he said he couldnt draw that..... soooo how are you an tattoo artist and cant draw?!! So why would I let you tat my body? I gave 2 stars because it is a very nice looking shop and super clean.... I just wish I couldve had a better experience.... read more

I needed a tattoo covered and came here. We were greeted by Elliot. My fiancé had a boatload of questions and Elliot was very patient in addressing all of his concerns. This place is very clean, which was a huge concern for me. The guys there were very cool and friendly and engaged my fiancé in a discussion on comics. My tattoo came out just as I'd like. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get a tattoo. read more

I had been to two other tattoo shops in the area before coming to Red Dragon and this is by far my favorite. Aesthetics wise, the store looks a lot cleaner and is more put together than other tattoo shops in the area. The atmosphere is GREAT, everyone that works here is very welcoming and funny. I always have a good time when I come into the shop. The price is more than reasonable, especially compared to the shops in Manhattan. I have gotten two tattoos by Make Valentine, one being a cover-up. I was more than ecstatic when he finished the cover-up because I was embarrassed before to be in a bathing suit but he made my tattoo beautiful. And it actually looks like a damn feather now. The other was a fresh tattoo that also came out great. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and he went above and beyond with his own version of it. I also got my tongue repierced by Ed. Ed is great, he talked with me while setting up and before I knew it I had a bar through my tongue! I thought it was going to painful unlike the first time since it would be going through scar tissue, but he did it so fast I really didn't feel much. Ed also gave me helpful advice on some dermals I had gotten at another shop that weren't healing correctly. Overall great experience here, and will continue to come back. read more

I walked in with my best friend just checking out prices and browsing. after not being impressed with the other parlors on the same strip, i came back, and asked the artist to free hand my tattoo. too many artist are willing to just print out a computer drawing and trace over it, so i really wanted to see what they could do on their own. I loved my tattoo. The parlor was very very clean and neat and all the supplies were clean and kept in labeled containers. i don't remember my artist name, but he was not only handsome, but he wasn't heavy handed and made me feel at ease. Very professional and prices seem reasonable. there is a 50 dollar minimum, and i forked it out for only a four letter word but like the sign in the shop says: good tattoo's arent cheap and cheap tattoos arent good. read more

I've been here a few times over the years, for both tats and piercings. What I like about RD is that the shop is SUPER clean, and the owner, Manny, is awesome. He fixed my piercing that was jacked up by a former employee. My last tat there was done by Mike (who is on "Ink Masters" this season). He was a bit TOO serious for me, but his work is good. The only down side is the wait time. But, it's definitely worth the wait. read more

I came her for a tongue piercing and the guy was super suspicous and weird as hell. He pierced my tongue without a clamp. I asked him why and he said he just does it that way for 6 years. I found that very ODD. When i was done he just said "thanks" and walked off without even telling me how to take care of the piercing . I was like hello How do i take care of it? And he was like mouthwash. And im like ok how many times a day. And he shrugs and says 2 times. He looked so uninterested in his job. Soooo unprofessional !!!! I had to google the damn after care !!! Would never return here ever again . Tuff city is a wayyy better and cleaner and better staff. read more

To be honest I like this tattoo shop, the artist is really friendly and will talk to you about anything while they are giving you a tattoo, that includes singing n dancing . Yet Rain messed up my girlfriend tattoo. He was suppose to put a lotus flower on her neck, yet he put a colorful shit turd instead that opens up at the end. When she told him she didn't like it he told her "its nothing I can do for you" Then turned around n ask for $100 for a minimum size tattoo. I don't think that was right he should of fixed it. read more

Ok so I would have to say this was the best experience I ever has and I have gotten many piercings before . This place was SUPER! clean and the guy who pierced me his name was Jay and he was just so gentle and comforting. I think I wouldn't go anywhere else from now on. They have great great prices and the atmosphere was so chill. I just loved everything about it . I would recommend everyone to go there to get piercings done . Very professional and after I got it done he sat with me and explained everything slowly . And they were about to close and go home and not once did I feel rushed . EXCELLENT PLACE! read more

Displeased with the outcome of my tattoo by the owner Manny. He convinced me he does great freehand tattoos and we agreed on a piece that would be exceptional to cover up an old tattoo. He claimed all his work he doesn't stencil (my mistake for letting him continue) and that all his work is great. Unfortunately it was the opposite, he botched my tattoo of jesus and I was given something I didn't want. I don't care what the excuse is you messed up on a piece that's on my arm for LIFE. You didn't stencil a portrait. What artist doesn't stencil portraits? The piece is still not finished and I'm disappointed with his customer service. Why would I go back to get the tattoo fixed by the place that screwed it up in the first place? smh. The worst part is I still had to pay. I paid for something I didn't want. read more

Got my first tattoo here and would like to say I am very happy with how it came out. The piece was done by Elliot which to me has the best customer service, he made me feel very comfortable through out the tattooing process. Came in to get a tazmanian devil tattoo that went severly wrong from Tuff City Tattoo. huh that's another story with those bitches. Then I come here for the cover up. I chose a rose. Robert did it. He tried to charge me $600.00. He began the tattoo and the deposit was $300.00. it looks fucked up. NOW I have to cover the rose. WTF!!??? I spoke to the owner who stated I can come in and fix the rose and as compared to his years of experience to Roberts. WTF is he there if you have to fix his fuckups? I texted him this morning. The rose has to be blackened out. There's no recovering it. Lets see what he says. I wish I could find my Mexican primo who gave me my first tat . That is still going strong, no messes, respectful and no complications. beautiful tat. He worked in a small room up above a store. I MISS HIM!!! I want to get 6 more tattoos. One of the best tattoo spots hands down!! I have gotten a few tats and piercings here. They always are welcoming and make sure your fully comfortable before working on you. These cats are very talented and can draw just about anything you request. They will even sit down with you to speak on certain things you want to add and go step by step. I even became close with Edwin the manager, he's really cool and shows a lot of respect. I'm getting pierced and he's offering me shots! That's what I'm talking about!! Prices are fair and I've brought some of my friends here too. We all recommend and remain loyal customers. Check them out! read more

4 very personal tattoos and 5 piercings and it saddens me to say this review is fueled from a negative place. RD came highly recommended from an old and dear friend that got both sleeves, chest and side pieces done here. I was timid & scared when I got my first tattoo and Rane made me feel so comfortable and the process was painless. So much so that he did my second, Danny my third and my most recent and favorite artist Elliot did my fourth. Needless to say, I LOVE my TATS!! & I will recommend over and over to get ink here. HOWEVER, ... I will not recommend piercings. I got both nipples pierced, 3 microdermals on my upper right chest and my belly button pierced at RD. Ironically the same piercer did all this work and I cannot remember his name (I have chalked this up to do with my brain blocking the root of my frustration, I remember him having slicked hair and he's partially in pictures I took of my piercings when he was finished). My micros are almost 2 years old, they're not fully healed, they're crooked (requested them in a straight line) and one of them isn't positioned properly. So why 2 years later for this review? Honestly, because I LOVE RD. The artists are so nice and comforting, the atmosphere is clean and inviting and their work is GREAT!! But when I went for ink #4 recently and asked to have my micros looked at by the current piercer, who is so sweet and informative (wish I had him first time around, because that first guy never cracked a smile or attempted small talk), he along with who I assume is another piercer first addressed that I should've been advised against getting all 3 of my dermals done at once, I pointed out the faulty positioning and crooked line and he agreed with me. However, at this point, he said I'm 2 years in, they look clean and they are not rejecting so I should rock them out. He's the expert so I complied, great news for me anyway b/c I thought they were rejecting and I would be forced to have them removed. So, what's my issue? Last night one of my dermal tops fell off!!! - ONE OF MY BIGGEST DERMAL FEARS! I called in the shop to find out what I can do and what my options are and after 5 unanswered calls, I got on the line with the friendly new piercer who repeated a lot of what he said before which is okay and we discussed the process if I were to have them removed. However, the conversation is over and there was no relief at the end of the call. Why? b/c RD does not sell Dermal tops, (and the suggestion to order tops online doesn't work in my favor considering, it's a micro and that anchor needs a top before my skin starts covering), the one that needs to be repositioned can't be and friendly new piercer is against me getting them removed. Asked him what can I do considering I have an anchor that needs a top and pretty much that concluded with I have to go somewhere else to get it done. If you're anything like me where you search for months to find the perfect spot to have someone do anything to your body and you're happy the first time around you stick to that spot. I get how tricky micros are, I get that I'm skinny and not a lot of meat to hold them that makes them trickier. I did months of research and met with people that administer dermals and that have dermals. I even had several convos w/RD before getting them done. So, I get it they're TRICKY! I'm just unhappy that the piercer that did them first time around wasn't very nice (yes overlooked b/c everyone else in RD made up for that, if he was one of my tat guys I wouldn't have went back), also unhappy that I trusted RD for the past 5 years and I feel like now that trust is being tested, I'm being failed. I'm now left to rely on short notice on someone new and unfortunately because of my current level of disappointment and the manner in which I do things, it also means this is the end of my r'ship w/RD and I will commence the search for a new shop. Again, I'll recommend these guys for tats but not piercings and my perspective unfortunately will forever be tainted. We had a great run RD, thanks for the meaningful ink! read more
