Such a great restaurant! Reservations are highly recommended as this is not a large space but it's great space with places at the bar and tables thoughtfully positioned. Service is terrific but the drinks and food are EXCELLENT! One of my fave places to get a Pisco Sour and terrific dishes for appetizers thru mains. I will ALWAYS get their chicken as the seasoning and roasting isn't something I can replicate at home. Both this restaurant and the sister restaurant Jalea are wonderful additions to the STL community!
Brasas proves once again that Andrew Cisneros is operating on a level that feels unfair to the rest of the restaurant industry. The ceviche at any of his restaurants is consistently brilliant. Acidic perfection!You sit there scraping up every drop of leche de tigre with absolutely no shame left. I could genuinely eat this every single day and become intolerable.
Food here is excellent. On par with their sister restaurant, Jalea in Saint Charles. Small space and resos recommended. Portions here are shareable. Ceviche mixto was a great start. Loved the different textures of seafood-fish, shrimp and octopus. Rotisserie chicken here was also really good and the green sauce was a perfect addition. Pork belly fried rice was loaded with meat and was also nice. Potatoes were cooked perfectly and that mustard was awesome! Only critique is that entrees come out too fast after apps. My entree came out when I was 3/4 through my app and I observed the same with other diners. Overall, a must visit on the Loop. We have little to no authentic Peruvian restaurants besides Brasas & Jalea locally so definitely take advantage and experience and incredible cuisine. Pro tip: take a flight to Peru, it's an incredible country
I came here in the late afternoon on Saturday eager to try their Aji Amarillo chicken curry. I knew the place was small but I wasn't aware how small it was until I entered. I was greeted promptly and then asked if I had a reservation. I told her no and she said there was one open seat at the bar so I took it. The bartender was the only one working and immediately gave me water and menus. My stomach was a bit upset so I knew not to get any alcohol. I stuck with water and got the aforementioned dish I came there for. The ambiance of the restaurant seemed relaxed. There was one tv at the bar but everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and engaging in conversation. After a short wait my food arrived and I couldn't wait to dig in. While I've had several Peruvian dishes before, the Aji de Gallina or in this case at Brasas, (Aji Amarillo chicken curry) has always been my favorite. I was hoping that I be wowed by my first bite, but sadly that never came. The dish was good, but I felt like it was missing something. I wonder if it's because all the other times I've had it at other places, it was usually accompanied by a shredded cheese and something else. Regardless, I was hungry so it satisfied my appetite. The sauce was flavorful with little hints of spice and the chicken was good. Overall, I was pleased with the food and the service. My only gripe is that the bartender can take a chill pill. The restaurant was half- empty but since I walked in, she was all over the place. The amount of people present didn't warrant her being so erratic, but I respect her hustle.

Somewhere between Japanese and yellow curry. * Chaufa Aeropuerto - 4.25/5 Great flavor, but light on protein for the price. * Anticuchos de Picanha - 4/5 Perfectly cooked steak with excellent chimichurri. * Pisco Sour - 5/5 Spot-on. Went for the first time last night with two girlfriends and we were so impressed! It's small and we got really great service the whole time. The waitress was very friendly and checked in on us the right amount of times. We got the ceviche and papa rellena- the ceviche was so fresh! We got the grilled pork belly, the chicken curry and the 1/2 chicken with 2 sides (went with friends and maduros), and while all were good, the chicken curry was really out of this world! Would highly recommend this dish! The price was very reasonable for all the food we got. The ambiance was perfect, small but also had bar seating for walk ins!
So, last Thursday my wife and I attended the Allen Stone concert at The Pageant. Great show by the way. We decided to book something close to the concert hall and Brasas is across the street. Secured a reservation for 2 at 5pm. We were the first to arrive at the restaurant. It is a small but inviting space. I'd call it cozy. The service was effective and friendly with Caitlyn. She was manning the bar and tables. We started with the Papa Rellena. It's amazing and I highly recommend it. My wife enjoyed the Mostrito de Brasas for her entree. It's an amazing chicken dish and it was flavorful. I enjoyed the Chaufa Aeropuerto. It, too, was amazing. We look forward to a return visit to the cozy Peruvian spot!!
Intimate vibe with just 5 tables, be sure to make a reservation. We had the half and quarter chicken with sides. The chicken comes with cremas (delicious little sauces that are amazing but totally unnecessary as the chicken is so well flavored). Highly recommend the garlic rice and bean stew combo as a side. As well as the mashed potatoes. The sweet plantains were perfect. Side salad was fresh and dressing is a creamy cilantro. Overall, portions were generous for the price and everything tasted so fresh and delicious! We will be back!
Saw Brasas listed on "Ian Froeb's STL 100: The best St. Louis restaurants of 2025" and came to check it out. The restaurant is small with 5 tables and some seats at the bar. Food and service were good. Margarita de Brasas $13 Papa Rellena $13 - Fabulous appetizer! The potato was crispy on the outside and fluffy and creamy on the inside. So full of flavor, would order again. Grilled Pork Belly $25 - Pork belly cooked nicely with some crispy parts, went well with the beans and rice. Aji Amarillo Chicken Curry $26 - Great curry flavor, not spicy hot. The medium boiled eggs were good. On the dessert menu, they had homemade ice cream of assorted flavors. The food here was absolutely amazing and delicious! And so were the drinks! We got the quarter chicken with rice/beans and salad for the sides and the fried rice. Both were great but the fried rice was my favorite. The Pisco sour was so good and made me feel like I was back in Peru. This is a very small restaurant and they get busy quick so I definitely recommend reservations.
Not only is this a small, cozy spot, but it's also great for channeling warmer weather with the bright flavors of Peru (and the kind of warmth only a rotisserie chicken can provide). They also make an incredible pisco sour, which adds its own warmth. The food is incredible and the staff is so friendly. If you're feeling low, pay them a visit. And even if you're not, still go.
Bro - Chef Andrew is killing it with Jalea and Brasas. We loved our experience at Jalea, so of course we had to see what Brasas had to offer. Unsurprisingly - REALLY FLAVORFUL FOOD! We had reservations (highly recommend) and the server greeted us in and was really sweet. She checked in on us throughout the meal and interacted with my toddler. This place is a really ideal for date nights, its intimate and the food is incredible which can add to a perfect night. My husband got the Chaufa Aeropuerto (he ordered the same at Jalea) and it definitely looked like a bigger portion at Brasas. Still, very yummy! I ordered the Polla a la Brasas, a quater chicken serving with two sides (puree de papa, house salad) and 3 cremas. I also ordered maduros and so good with the chicken! The house salad was really good and BIG. I wasn't expecting such a large portion but it really helped balance my meal out. We also ordered drinks (non-alcoholic) Chicha Morada and an Inka Cola. The Chicha Morada is a traditional Peruvian drink of purple corn, pineapple, and cinnamon - that was really good and not too sweet! Parking: street parking but make sure you pay at the parking meter. The city checks the license plates to see if they paid. read more
Brasas is a great little Peruvian restaurant, perfect for date night! Reservations are highly recommended and they sometimes run out of chicken before the end of the night, so plan accordingly. The waitress ran the house energetically all by herself. The ambiance was nice, mature and not too loud. In terms of food, we thought the meat was okay but the sides and sauces (cremas) were absolutely fantastic! The rotisserie potatoes, garlic rice, Peruvian pork and bean stew, and fries with veal sauce in the lomo saltado were eye-rollingly delicious and so flavorful. The quarter pollo à la brasa tasted good and was tender but was not mind-blowing, and the sirloin in the lomo saltado was a bit dry. Their drinks are excellent and I especially enjoyed my pisco sour. I think one of the special things about Brasas is their collaboration with Curichi's cream, a local handcrafted Peruvian ice cream brand with flavors like lúcuma that are hard to find around St. Louis. They are definitely worth a taste. I will be returning and am also eager to try their original restaurant, Jalea! read more

This place is amazing. To start, ordered the Pisco sour. This is a well balanced and bright cocktail. For dinner ordered the 1/2 chicken and the chicken curry. It comes with multiple sauces to try. The creamy cilantro is to die for. The chicken curry was full of flavor. The chicken was perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was fantastic. Caitlyn (unsure of spelling) was so friendly and helpful with Menu decisions. I will for sure be returning. This place is a gem. read more

The business is always clean and quiet . Very intimate and slightly romantic vibe , but also nice for a dinner meet up with friends or colleagues. The food is always so fresh and flavorful and the staff is very polite and welcoming. This is one of my favorite places in st.louis . I'm a very picky chicken eater and don't eat it much but when I crave chicken this is the only other place I would if it at. The owner Andre's passion in good food really reflects on these dishes . I recommend 100 times I've never been disappointed read more

The food was delicious! I got the ceviche and the chicken and thought it was great and very filling. The service was great as well, our waiter is nice. And the vibes here were chill considering it's a smaller place but they were able to accommodate us, being a table of 8. Overall really great experience! read more

I loved having dinner here. It's a smaller restaurant but I made a reservation for two for me and a friend and got to sit at the bar. The bartender was wonderful and I ordered the Mosquito to start. It was perfect! For Apps I got the Potato/Yucca Croquettes and they were crispy and perfectly fluffy inside. For mains we decided on the chicken curry and a quarter of chicken with salad as a side and the maduros. Absolutely loved it all! I even ordered an additional quarter chicken with maduros and mashed potatoes for my partner. He devoured it and we hope to come back for a date night very soon. read more

Brasas opened last week in STL and it's definitely a MUST TRY ASAP! The sister restaurant to St Charles' Jalea, the small restaurant has Peruvian staples like Pollo A La Brasas and Ceviche. The menu has options for everyone in your group and EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious. You can taste the fresh quality and robust flavor in every bite. I am feeling like Dan + Shay as I begin this review: Speechless. I have been salivating at Brasas for while and finally found myself grabbing a bit of takeaway. I do not regret much in this life, but added to my small list is not trying Brasas sooner. The interior is cute. Feels a bit like an intimate diner. A very small space with a bar and a few seats. The worker greeted me with glee and got my takeaway order over to me fast. The food is phenomenal. A simple approach menu that has perfection written all over it. The chicken is so flavorful and juicy. You can taste the smoke, the herbs, seasonings. Tender, succulent. Masterful. The cremas are superb. I have no idea what is inside each one, but one is cumin forward and that one was my favorite (Yellow). The potatoes are amazing. Seasoned with herbs and hefty. The steak fries are incredible--and I do not even like steak fries, lol. They are seasoned to perfection with a salty seasoning mixture. This may be a new go to takeaway spot to add to my rotation. I loved everything about this place. Yes, it's really small, but I feel like they can do a better, more personal, job of satisfying guests that way. My cocktail was DELICIOUS and all the food I tried was amaaaaazing! The service was great and it all came together to make for a lovely evening. There were 7 of us and they pushed 2 tables closer together so we could talk and share food. And SHARE FOOD, we did! And everything I tried was absolutely top notch. Loved it! read more
Another gem on Delmar! Haven't been this stuffed in a while. Started with 1/2 rotisserie chicken with garlic rice and Yukon potato. The chicken was perfectly cooked--so flavorful and juicy. Loved the three different sauces that came with it; they all complemented the meal perfectly. The ceviche was delicious and super refreshing. Went all out and ordered the beef heart skewers. BEST dish of the night! The meat was tender and well-marinated, and it came with these buttery, fun-to-eat little corn bits (no idea what they're called). We sat at the bar, and our bartender took great care of us. The place is a bit small, so it's better for dates or small groups of 3-4 rather than big parties. read more

Very pleasantly surprised with Brasas! It's one of the only nicer restaurants on the loop, and while the menu is small and humble, the interior has a very nice, sleek ambience. It is a quaint restaurant, though, so I recommend getting a reservation ahead of time. Our server was so bubbly and sweet, and she helped us pick out what we wanted to try. Here's what we ended up getting: -Papa Rellena: 9/10- The potato was perfectly flash fried and crispy on the outside, and the inside was soft and stuffed with so much good filling and flavor. Additionally, it was swimming in this beautiful cilantro crema that was one of the best sauces I've had in a good while. -Strip Loin Anticuchos: 8.5/10- These were super savory and the meat was well cooked and tender. You get 2 skewers and a few potatoes, and while they weren't necessarily mind blowing, this is definitely meat executed well. -Pollo A La Brasa (quarter) with salad and rotisserie potatoes: 8.6/10- The chicken has been hyped up, and I half get it. It's not like your jaw will drop, but the chicken is moist and flavorful, and the 3 sauces that come with it add so much gorgeous flavor and depth. The house salad is also incredible, with a fresh zesty ranch dressing and half an avocado on top. Finally, the rotisserie potatoes are pretty good, though I would try the mashed potatoes next time as they weren't as crispy as I would want a really good roasted potato to be. Definitely would come here again. This was a great experience. read more

Everything we had was so good! The pollo a la brasa was so juicy and flavorful we didn't really need any of the 3 sauces ( which all are delicious) it is served with. Looking forward to returning to try the other dishes offered. read more

Another tiny space with seating for about 20 diners at best. Very accommodating server who did her best to seat our party of 7 ( with reservations) together. Menu not large but interesting, including drink choices. Again, some help from the server to solve appetizer choice and entree choice. Ordered an entree of pork belly which was served in typical Peruvian style with beans and rice. It was delicious. Most dishes included beans and rice. Peruvian comfort food. We arrived at 5p. Place got busier as the time went on. read more

We had a such a lovely dinner at Brasas on Halloween night. I was glad that I made a reservation because the restaurant is quite small, and I noticed every single table was reserved. The moment I walked through the door, I thought to myself, "wow such a cozy place with fun vibe for a date night." We ordered a few dishes to share among 2 of us. Alitas nikkei (wings served along with cilantro lime and ranch) was the bomb! It's so good that I almost ordered the second dish. I know, it was finger licking' good!!! Next, the Aji Amarillo chicken curry was a mouthful of taste. The curry texture was very smooth and creamy. Chicken was tender and flavorful. My least favorite was the anticuchos beef heart. I really liked the flavor but didn't like the texture of it. Next time I would try the beef strip loin instead. We also got chicha morada (purple corn drink) and passion fruit cheese cake for dessert. Overall, good food, good service. I can see myself coming back here often. read more
