Brasa Peruvian Kitchen offers salads and bowls with a Peruvian twist and ingredients. The stand-out Peruvian ingredients are the large kernel corn, crispy toasted corn, sweety drop peppers (hard to find anywhere else), tri-colour organic quinoa, and potatoes. Now with multiple locations in Toronto, you can order the menu items for delivery through UberEats, for pick-up using Ritual, or pick-up / delivery using their website platform.
My favourite items to get are the Build-Your-Own Bowl (where you get to choose your greens, carb base, protein, toppings, and dressing), Andean Roasted Potato Bowl, Spiced Shroomama Salad, and Ceviche Bowl (recent addition to the menu). Every menu item is also customizable with extras and substitutions.
All the greens and other vegetables are fresh, the tuna ceviche tastes great, and I love the smooth "avocado and sweet potato blossoms" (which also look pretty) in the Ceviche Bowl.
The portobello mushroom slices in the Shroomama Bowl are too spicy for me, but I like their plump texture and the amount they give in the bowl. All the other ingredients are perfect. I like that the steamed broccoli are steamed 'just right' (without being overly cooked).
Out of all the dressings, my favourite is the avocado & maca dressing (maca is a Peruvian ginseng, although it tastes more like avocado than ginseng). Although in my opinion, none of the salads or bowls need any dressing because they're all already flavourful on their own.
Great healthy salads and bowls overall, and I appreciate that they use recycleable / sustainable take-out containers for the food. read more
