We came in to dine at 6pm when closing time was 7pm. Our waitress was not friendly and bothered it seemed that we had dared to come in within in hour of closing. We were the only customers there so we didn't think it would be a problem to cook up something for my family of six before closing. The bacon and sausage patty were over cooked. The mini pancakes with chocolate chips were burnt. When I asked to have these items taken off the check the waitress said, "WHY, what's wrong with them?" As I showed her the burnt pancakes. The "manager" defended her cook "because it was hard to make pancakes that small with chocolate chips in them." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! I guess they have Tom Thumb working in the kitchen. Come here every time I come to Branson usually has great food but every once in a while the food is a little bland and has not much taste

For a diner, this place is pretty good. The help was friendly, food was good and waiting time was minimal. It has about 25 tables and only 3 were open so it must be a popular place. We walked in at 2:15 and we're out by 3:00. It's been in business since 1910. read more

This was the most rude waitstaff I have ever encountered! We waited and waited with No one coming to our table, when we asked about it the front lady said, "she'll get to you you when she gets to you". Then a waitress came by and snipped, it'll be a while before I get to you. Not even taking a drink order. My family left. We were not going to give this place our money. Had they been nice and friendly we wouldn't have minded to wait. We've never walked out of a restaurant before. They acted like they were put out we were there. read more

Was not at all impressed with this place when we ate here. The waitress we had was an older, extremely crabby lady who threw the menus down on the table and told us we'd have to wait a minute for service because she was busy. Right then and there I wanted to leave but my husband wanted to do the mom and pop dining experience thing so we stayed. When she did finally get back around to us she criticized me for what I ordered. I was just shocked at her blatant lack of good customer service. Food came and was disturbingly mediocre. No flavor to my burger or the fries. Just really not at all what I was expecting. You think mom and pop cafe you think really great food. Not so in this case. Between the bad service and the bad food, I'm rating this place one star because the pie my husband and I shared was decent and they get props for that otherwise I'd rate them nothing. I don't know how this place got 4 stars. Waitress was rude and immediately told us they were closing in 20 minutes after we had waiting in the front to be seated and the food is terrible. Everything that came from the fryer tasted like shrimp. Don't go here. We thought it had to be good since it was rated highly. read more

My son and I stopped in there for dinner. We came in and sat down, there was only one other table with people in there. The waitress saw us come in but was standing at the other table talking. She never once came over or even acknowledged our presence. After sitting there for over 5 minutes we got up and left. Never going back. The food was excellent. The four of us had fried chicken, ham and beans, chicken livers and eggs Benedict. All four dishes were excellent. We wished we had found this cafe sooner and would have eaten there again. Prices are VERY reasonable and service is great. It is a small place, but we had no problem getting a table right away. I continually eat here and I haven't been disappointed yet. The atmosphere here has Good Ol' Ozark Southern Charm. It's ironic because this little cafe has stood the test of time. The Branson cafe runs and feels like it did many years ago when Branson was still a very small town. However, the location of this place is at the busiest intersection in Branson. When you eat here you'll get a waitress like Tanya, not a server, who makes you feel like you've been eating breakfast here for the last 30 yrs. read more

This is the place if you want a breakfast that tastes like it was cooked in your mom's kitchen. I am not a breakfast food person, but I must say that I really enjoyed my breakfast. The breakfast potatoes and onions are very simple but tasty. My fried eggs came out exactly like I asked for. The coffee was very good and the service was fast and friendly. Absolutely delicious home-made food. Had the spaghetti special and couldn't even finish because of the big portions. Cheap eats, both hubby and I ate for $20 and that included the home-made Danish I took back to the hotel for midnight snack. Definitely worth braving the traffic to find this place!! We decided to eat here on our visit and it was a mistake. We walked in with no one greeting us. Took 15 minutes for them to take our drink order and another 15-20 minutes for them come back and take our food order. Finally offered us a high chair half way through our ordering. Took 20 minutes for us to get our very uncomplicated order. Only filled one persons drink even though the others needed refills. We pointed out we were missing utensils and a few food items. Was given a strange look when we mention we had no utensils and never gave us our missing food items. Waited for our waitress to come back by so we could get a slice of pie and she never came. Never got our check so we walked up to the register and had to tell them what we had because our waitress couldn't remember which check was ours. The food was good but we left there hungry. We did notice that if we were locals we would of been given better service and everything. read more
