I talked to several companies before choosing Almstead. They were impressive from start to finish and had competitive pricing. Their arborist, ISA certified in tree risk assessment, gave me strategies and probabilities around possible care for the tree, but also an honest appraisal of the situation. Due to its location, I took it down. They are a team of true professionals - knowledgeable, skilled, and responsible. I have never seen a tree company operate like they did. Everything was totally under control which, considering the location, was a major relief. This is a difficult and dangerous job, but they handled it like clockwork, as if it were nothing. The guy that did the final cleanup, removing the last of a tremendous amount of wood was also amazing. I watched as he became plastered with wood chips, working in the cold and, at times, heavy rain to make sure everything was cleaned up, refusing to take a break, saying it had to be finished on schedule, and asking for approval at the end. Almstead was accommodating in every way possible, including moving quickly, which was a concern to me. The entire process could not have gone more smoothly. They were honest, pleasant, and did what they said when they said. They supplied all necessary insurance and license info well in advance. No problems or delays. I could not have been more impressed and relieved with the whole experience. I have already called them about more work, this time to plant.
