My son took his 2007 Kia in for some brake work. He was told that his car also needed new struts all around. He was quoted $450 for the brakes and $300 for the struts. When he went to pickup his car the bill was over $1300. The manager claims he gave him a written estimate which is a complete lie. I spoke with the manager before the work was started and there was no mention of what the cost would be, I just assumed that the cost that my son had told me was correct. Once again, the manager lied about not giving me the total cost. I also spoke with a different manager about the situation and was told that they record all calls and that he would look into the situation and would call me the next day after he had listened to the recording. RUDE AND EXPENSIVE! Went in for an oil change and asked to price out a 3rd brake light bulb. We're talking an older vehicle with 2 minutes of labor. I can do it easily just thought it would be nice if they could do it for around $5. They came back with $28!!! $25 in labor!! . Come on!! What was rude though is when I stated that's about a 2 min job, the guy said then fine do it yourself and walked in back. Glad I have a free oil change coupon. I was very disappointed here. Every time estimate they gave me was much longer. Three to four hours to have the car was six and a half. 45 minutes to fix the car was an hour and a half. Picking me up in 30 minutes was 50. And my car was supposed to be done before they picked me up and it was still in the bay when I got there! Also, my car was inspected by the dealer and brakes plus said it needed stuff the dealer said was fine. I doubt I'll ever use them again. With 3 kids of driving age and a total of 5 cars varying ages from 4-18yrs old there is always some type of repair or preventive maintenance needed. Went to Brakes Plus to repair a tire lug situation caused by another tire location, and in spite of super icy and "blizzardy" road conditions early that morning, they were able to obtain the required parts and get right on the repair. They even made sure that I was warm and comfortable within a work area available while the repairs were being made. They beat their estimate of completion time by an hour, and were exceptionally caring and knowledgeable. Brought truck in about a year ago because the heater wasn't working. It was stuck on cold because the actuator wasn't flipping the door from cold to hot. They said it would be at least $600 because they had to take the entire dash board off. We have been coming to this Brakes Plus location for more than 5 years. But, lately, their service has deteriorated. Their rates are no longer competitive. They seem to, try to find issues, that may not exist. Today, we took an appointment for 9 AM. We reached at 8:35 AM, the person at the front desk informed that they will need to keep the car until 2PM and they will give us a ride to home, and back. We had to wait for more than 1 hour, before someone could give us a ride back to home. The person at the Front Desk was very rude and mentioned that they do not have any concept of Appointments (like a Doctors office), he said: this is a repair shop and it will take time to get us a ride. When we asked - why will it take until 2PM for the car to be ready, he answered: that they are busy today and he does not see our appointment in the system, so there are many cars ahead of us. Last Month, we had another issue with them. our car was making knocking sounds, when brakes are pressed. They informed that: Control Arms need to be replaced. The cost was around 800 dollars for parts, labor and misc. Since we had been coming here for many years, and we trusted them, we gave an OK for the job. Later when we checked the prices with Keller's Auto and Pep Boys etc. we were shocked to learn that it does not cost so much to get the control arms replaced. We had a heated debate with Danny (the Owner) and he was able to match the competitors price. We were very disappointed and our trust was broken. Today's visit was because, the same issue has resurfaced. We are not sure, if Control Arms were really needed to be replaced or not. Very disappointed, after being a loyal customer for so many years. My son's girlfriend took her car here for a headlamp. They spent 10 minutes putting in a light and charged $150. After questioning the manager said it should be $300! Well, they obviously think very highly of themselves, but my advise is to avoid this place as they are dishonest, or get the estimate in writing before they touch your car. read more

Took our Honda Pilot here last Monday. Car was shaking when stepping on the brakes. We had paid $300 4 months ago to same Brakes Plus. They checked our brakes which took approximately 5 hours. Finally called and was quoted $798 to replace both front and back rotors. Felt this seemed so high after just paying them $300 4 months earlier. Was told that mountain driving will affect the brakes! We rarely do any mountain driving, then the story got changed to "must brake hard" and "it's hot". We picked up our car. Made an appointment at our local Honda Dealer. Honda did diagnostic checks on the entire vehicle. Told us we only needed front pads and rotors for $275!!! They fixed that and the car is fine and I asked if we needed rest brakes. They said they were completely fine and still had lots of wear on them. This store is ripping people off! Do not take your car here!! Liars and cheating people of their hard earned money!!! read more

If you absolutely need to get your car in and didn't make an appointment, they make room or do the best they can which is amazing. I always receive top notch customer service and feel safe and comfortable leaving my car with the staff here! If my appointment time is 1pm-2pm, they are done sharp at 2pm which is great for busy schedules. Danny has been in the auto industry for 38 years, he knows his stuff!! Even being a woman and bringing my car into an auto place, I've never felt uncomfortable or that they were trying to up-sell me which I've had bad experiences at other places like that. Not only did I love making appointments via their website (which triggers a reminder email), they are efficient and respectful of my time. The waiting room is spacious, with a television, coffee, air-conditioning, clean restrooms, and free WiFi. The nearby Sonic and Shell station offer convenient snacks and beverages during your wait time. This location (unsure of others?) offers discounts throughout the week, including 10% off to military on Mondays. I paid only $24.99 with my discount, which I think is a steal. Yesterday, they even checked my tire pressure, because my TPMS light had gone off. Personnel is friendly and conversational, which also makes a difference to me.
