I took my Jeep in to have the brakes checked. I was prepared to camp out there for a couple of hours and fork over several hundred bucks. Much to my amazement, I was out of there within 45 minutes and with no charge. The technician explained that the brakes looked great, I had several thousand miles left on the pads and all I needed was a good power washing to remove debris from the wheels. Wow! My only complaint is that I have to rearrange my day because now I have time and money I don't know what to do with. Thanks so much guys! I was flat out lied to. I spoke to the manager about getting a refund because it was not disclosed BEFORE getting a diagnostic that there was a charge. My air filter box was left unclipped. I had already gotten a diagnostic from an ex-mechanic and wanted to verify the results. I wasn't told that I needed a new battery either. The manager said right off the bat that I was told about the fee BEFORE he even asked when I came in, my name, vehicle and who I had spoken to at the counter. I've been going to Brakes Plus in Stonegate for years. Started with regular oil changes but as my car has gotten older I've been taking for routine maintenance. By far the friendliest and knowledgeable staff. They don't BS you into buying products or services you don't need. Prices have been lower compared to other places I've taken my car to. I had a transmission issue about 2 years ago that they weren't able to fix BUT they took my car for me to a shop they work with, had it fixed and the cost was no where near what I thought it would be to fix. It came in less than I was expecting, by A LOT. Today I had a washer fluid part that needed to be replaced. I had the part and they installed for free! What shop does stuff like that? Although it was a minor fix they still took the time to do it and didn't charge the labor fees. He said "you're good to go have a nice day". A dealership would have charged labor fee. I will continue using them for all my car service needs and I will continue recommending to anyone who needs services done. They've never disappointed me, they go above and beyond. Although the guys are friendly and I initially thought, "Hey, this is the Place!" I've since changed my mind. I had a leak so when I took it in for an oil change, I asked them to check what was leaking, they said the valve gasket, I asked them for a quote which was reasonable, so I asked them to fix it. AFter I left, I still had the leak + a couple more leaks so I didn't take it back. It will cost me more time and $$ to fix but I want it done right so won't be going back there. read more

I was so pleased by my recent visit to this location of Brakes Plus. Despite knowing better, I let my one of my brake pads wear completely out and I knew I was hearing metal on metal. I was cringing knowing that I would get "the look" from them and comments about "you know, you really shouldn't let that happen".....but was pleasantly surprised to avoid those completely. I dealt with three gents, can't remember names, but all three were respectful, friendly and approachable. I'll be back again, for sure! read more

Love this location. I get oil changes for people I work for, and therefore I am here quite often. I know when I walk in this door the awesome guys will always take care of me. They let me know what needs to be fixed, and if it needs to be now, or can wait. They can answer all of my questions, and don't get annoyed that I just keep asking more. I just came from going to a local Honda dealer prior to going to Brake Plus as the Honda dealer said I just needed to have my brake fluid flushed out. Brake Plus tried to gouge me into getting additional wheel alignment and a cabin air filter in which Honda did not at all mention as I do have the check list from my Honda dealership. I would be very careful when they off additional things for your car and maybe perhaps get a second opinion as they will try to rip you off. read more

This place charged me $750.00 to change my brakes. They didn't feel that good after that. Well I took it to another place for a tune-up , and they pointed out I need it a brake job. They did't do anything to my brakes. After I had them done again they felt awesome again. I will never use this A-holes. read more

Breaks Plus 2201 Fm 423, Little Elm, 75068, TX: My very recent experience was a nightmare to say the least - staff is dishonest and rude - forget customer service. The "manager" of the branch not only did not attempt to resolve my concern, he refused to listen and walked out on his customer. I am a senior citizen with limited funds but that did not stop them from ripping me off. The shop insisted I needed an entire emergency break assembly which I later found it was false. The issue could have been fixed simple by tightening a able costing.They responded aggressively when I raised concerns and simply ordered me to F-off. I paid $500 for a service that absolutely did not need. I confirmed this by taking my old part (which they miraculously produced after harsh words) for a2nd opinion - turned out there was nothing wrong with the entire assembly. This shop needs to be overhaled with complete staff replacement the "sweet" manger - whatever his name is. read more

I would NOT recommend this location of Brakes Plus for any type of repair work. I would avoid it like the plague! They advertise that they have experienced mechanics who can handle any type of repair, but that has not been my experience whatsoever. I brought my Oldsmobile Alero in because the heater was not working properly and the car seemed to overheat at will. I am no mechanic or auto expert but I do have a pretty good working knowledge of how a gasoline engine works and what would cause these issues. I was told that a major seal needed replacement as well as a cooling system flush. I replaced the same seal less than 2 years before, and knew exactly what the issue was and felt it was possible that my previous mechanic may have not done a great job. I was given my car back and told if it made any "chirping noises" or had other issues to bring it back. That scared me from the get go, once a car is returned it really should be working without the disclaimer that it might make noises it has never made before. I have had to bring the car back 2 times for the same issue, each time something else has gone wrong and they have asked me for more money to fix the issue I have already paid to have fixed. I have had service people as well as the manager argue with me and tell me I didn't know what I was talking about. Three trips and $1300 later, I still have a vehicle with heater issues, that now chirps at will and has new dash warning lights come on as they please. I will NEVER go back to this location based on the way I was treated and their lack of customer service. I say stay away if you want a functioning vehicle after its been returned to you. read more

Went in for a oil change and 5k maintenance service, told them I had a small radiator leak and to pay special attention to that when checking the car over. They told me that they could not see the leak and said they would need to do a more thorough diagnoses to find the problem. I declined not wanting to pay for that seeing as how the leak was slow. The problem got worse the following day so I had my wife bring the car by again because I was out of town for work and she was told the car needed a new radiator by a guy named Steve. Steve told her that they told me that when I was in for the 5k maintenance which was not true and he was very rude on top of that. My wife not feeling right about things called me and told me that they said the car needed a new radiator. We obviously decided to leave and contact a friend who is currently going to mechanic school and have him look at the car. It turned out that there was a hose that had a leak in it so we replaced that and the car has run great since. I can't believe this Brakes Plus couldn't find a simple hose leak or maybe they didn't want to so they could lie there way into a bigger project so they try to take advantage of my wife by lying to her about the radiator. read more
