I love this shop - would highly recommend taking your vehicle here if you need any work done! They are incredibly honest and up-front about what is doing on with your car. They work on what you ask them to work on, and don't try to tell you they inspected the entire vehicle and you have 10 other miscellaneous things that need to be done now. Took my car in the night before so it would be first or up front for the 8:00 a.m. appt. Car only had 14,000 miles on it with vibrations when braking. Sounded like warped rotors. Didn't hear anything back for a couple hours so called to find out they had not done the diagnostics yet. At that point there were first going to test drive the car. 4 1/2 hours later I called again, was told that the diagnostics would be done in the afternoon. Obviously no repair that day. Had to get car back because I didn't have a full day to wait for the diagnostic news and wasn't told that they would take an entire day to determine what was wrong with my car. So I went in get the car, was told by Christie that Greg's is a "24 hour diagnostic repair shop"......do not expect to get your car repaired the day you take it in because it will take 24 hours to determine what is wrong with your car. I should have been told that diagnostics takes a whole day before I set up the appt. If you decide to do business with Greg's, do not expect it to be easy to get there. There is significant construction and traffic delays on Parker Rd and Parker Rd is becoming a parking lot. Not Greg's fault but expect long delays and use an alternative route if you can. read more

Had a great experience at Greg's today. Got right to the issue and was very reasonable to repair. They offer senior discount on labor!!!!

At first I was excited to work with Greg's Auto Repair with all the great reviews but when I walked into their office I was greeted with Greg's wife (as she identified herself) and I informed her that wanted to get my suspension replaced in my Chevy Suburban. She quickly said that her husband doesn't touch that vehicle because it has an air ride suspension. She said the only way to replace the air ride system was to take it to the Chevy dealership because of warranty issues. (Informed her that my vehicle does not have warranty) I replied that I didn't want to continue with the air ride system and I wanted to replace it with regular struts all the way around the vehicle. She then said she needed to check with her husband to confirm he would take on that request. After speaking directly with Greg and confirming to replace without air ride he requested his wife to take the vin number down and they will call me with the estimate and would likely match the previous owners estimates they did in the past for the same job. After 3 weeks and calling the office and following up with the estimate, I spoke with Denise and informed me there was no estimate yet and they will call me back once available.1 week later still have not heard from Greg's Auto. Sadly, this repair shop is unprofessional and needs to do better. read more

One of the best auto shops in town! Its common as a woman to get ripped off because we "dont know anything about cars", I've had my dealership try to run me through the ringer. Thank goodness I brought my car here, these guys are so honest. I've had all sorts of work done here from the basic oil change, to a broken alternator, and more. They always take great care of me. When you go in, make sure to ask for Ab- he's as good as they get. Been in the industry for over 40 years, and won't try to upsell services to you and gets the job done fast! Greg's Auto Repair shop goes against all stereotypes of a car mechanic shop. Even as a naïve 17 year old who had never had any work done to my car before, the employee treated me with the same respect as I was hoping for. Instead of being treated with impatience and rudeness (as I have been with other shops), I was treated with kindness and patience without the feeling of being stupid. When I wasn't 100% sure on the issues behind my car, he offered to drive the car himself to get a better idea. And even after the service was done in a fast manner, further solutions were suggested to my car. It seems to me that the focus at this repair shop is more so focused on the customer's needs instead of just making a quick buck. My old Jeep Wrangler had some leaks and needed some new stuff, I first took it to Service Street and then Greg's for a second opinion, and to see if I could get a better deal. I'm so glad I did because I saved $1000 and Greg didn't even know the original price I had been quoted, and he gave me an additional discount on top of that! A few days later, my check engine light turned on, and when I took it back, he replaced my thermostat for free, usually about $200. I feel well taken care of and love him and his wife, and their cute office dog! Would definitely recommend, and will continue to give them my business. The only thing I would say is they aren't very good at communicating, I had to call and ask about my car both times rather than them calling me when they were finished, but other than that no complaints at all and will be telling everyone I know to go to Greg's! read more

Extremely, disappointed with Greg's Automotive. They broke a hood latch, charged way too much for a battery, and didn't stand behind their repairs. Two other customers were charged excessively for their batteries. Call around and save $75 - $100! The employee at the front desk was very rude to us. Last year I bought cars for my twins. Being older vehicles, they have had their issues. I always take them to Greg. He is fair, honest and does a great job. Remember though, Greg's is a small business, no fancy waiting room with donuts and a dude with a van to drive you home and pick you up when your vehicle is ready. Sometimes when you call you have to leave a message. That just means Greg is doing what he does best, fixing cars. If you want a doughnut and a ride, go to the big dealerships, they will be happy to charge you more. You want sprinkles with that? I don't, so I go to Greg's. read more

This place is a RIP OFF & complete SCAM. He pretends to fix whatever "problem" is wrong with your car and overcharges. He repaired my car, 2 months later it brakes down again having similar problems to when I had taken it in beforehand. Had it looked at somewhere else and they told me he did a horrible repair job. Horrible and lazy. No test drive, mileage was same upon return. They charged me a diagnostics fee of $65 and refused to do the repair. Stating your 12 year old vehicle is too old. Any mechanic that refuses to do a simple 1-day repair should not be in the mechanic business. Instead they recommended a complete engine swap for 9k. read more

Greg and his team have repaired cars for our family for more than 17 years. I have never, repeat never, had any problem or issue. Greg is a straight shooter. He doesn't up sell. With his partnership I got nearly 250,000 miles out of one of my cars and it was still doing well when I sold it. Greg discusses what I'm looking for, looks the car over, then calls me before starting the work. A number of years ago I was in Asheville, NC and my car developed brake noise. I called Greg. He said "I'd love to have you come back, get it fixed here and put your money in my pocket, but you shouldn't drive it back that way". We live in South Lyon now and it is a bit of a hike to Greg's. Excellent mechanic ...bad businessman. Made an appointnent 2 weeks ago to have brakes replaced, oil change, wheel bearing fixed. Called after leaving car all day. We stumbled upon Greg's Auto Repair after our 2000 Blazer died on Parker Road one Sunday shortly after moving here. A quick internet search turned up high reviews for Greg's shop and I'm still so thankful for those recommendations. Greg has seen all of our vehicles for everything from routine services like oil changes, but also for more complicated repairs. No one is ever **happy** to need auto repair, but Greg's honest service, affordable labor, and good business practices at least make the experience painless. While working on my emergency brake they broke a plastic cap on my gear shifter. It easily fell off when I shifted gears while leaving. They denied they broke it and said it was broken when I brought the vehicle in. Which is completely not true at all. I understand accidents happen and will be reasonable, but trying to lie their way out of it really gave me a bad impression. Will not return. read more

I have had all of my cars through Greg's shop over the years. All repairs have been solid. On only 1 or 2 occasions has Greg told me to take a reported problem to the "Dealer."
