After inspection, was sent a comprehensive evaluation AND was taken through all the points by Brian (Bryan?), and shown/told that car had a coolant leak that was likely going to result in having a $5000+ repair sooner than later. Some of the BEST $ I ever spent! I ALWAYS suggest pre-purchase inspection of ANY used car, irrespective of ANY dealership saying "we thoroughly inspect all of our vehicles."

We had the car towed over (2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid), and they diagnosed the problem and repaired the issue quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, the tech made a small mistake and once we got the car home, there was more oil on the driveway and a check engine light. Ugh, again. So we called back to Scott to see what he wanted us to do. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and issues arise. How a business owner handles those issues are the difference between good businesses and great ones. This is a great one. Scott was MUCH more upset than we were! He got us back in same day and fixed the issue at no charge! (We should have paid for a necessary part, but he would not charge us.) With everything so expensive these days, and everyone trying to stretch a buck, it's hard to know if you're leaving your car with someone who cares about it as much as you do. Scott does. I have never once had an issue with a mechanic and this is just getting insane. As a SINGLE MOTHER- I'm even more astounded they're okay doing this in the hottest months of the summer allowing small children under the age of 5 to melt in the summer heat with no care at all to their health or well being when I have stated that is my main concern of my car having the repair done. I know this, because I had to go under my own vehicle and torque the nuts to spec after driving 500 miles, which is recommended. I mentioned this at the time of install and the guy told me that they would be able to handle it for me for FREE when the time came, which I think should be expected considering that every new exhaust should have this treatment. Instead, when I called back they told me that I would have to pay, and then couldn't even give me a straight quote. I was only able to reach two of the nuts on the exhaust, but they didn't need any tightening luckily. Here's to hoping that any other nuts are torqued to spec, because I can't afford to be overcharged at this point in my life.

I purchased four tires for my Ford Transit work van and trusted their recommendation, assuming they were providing the correct tires for the vehicle. Less than a year later, one of the tires began splitting. I took the van to another shop that was closer because I did not feel safe driving all the way back to their shop. It was at the new shop where I was informed that the tires installed on my van were not properly rated to handle the weight of the vehicle and should not have been installed in the first place. I contacted Christian Brothers to explain the situation and was told I would need to drive the van back to their shop -- despite the damaged tire -- for them to determine whether anything would be covered under warranty. While I was getting the quote elsewhere to replace all four tires, Christian Brothers called back and offered a slightly lower price if I purchased another full set through them. In the end, the difference was only about $100 compared to the other shop. A shop I had never even used before, and that was the cost with no additional warranties or discounts (like Christian Brothers was claiming to be giving me). They stated they were giving me tires at cost and not charging for labor, not true. They tried to make it seem like they were doing me some huge favor by giving me such a small discount. Their front desk employee, Eric was as "helpful" as he could be throughout the process, but overall should have pushed harder with his upper management to resolve this. They should have completely comped the price of the old tires as this was their, dangerous mistake. Now they're not only making money off of me but also causing me to lose additional money by missing work to fix a problem they caused. I'm extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled, especially considering the original tires that they chose were improper for a work van like mine. All of this resulted in me needing to purchase two sets of tires within a single year!!! I expressed to them that being without my van would result in loss of money as it is my work vehicle. They had no concern for my time, money and no sense of urgency to resolve the situation that they caused. I had to leave my vehicle with them for more than a day the first time and again overnight the second time. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

On April 2, 2025 (Invoice #20513155332), I came to Brakes Plus for a complete brake replacement on my vehicle. The associate who helped me was Mike. I was charged $975.24 for what I was told would be a full and proper brake service. As a young woman without extensive car knowledge, I trusted your business to act with integrity and prioritize my safety. Instead, I was taken advantage of and put at serious risk. I have since relocated to San Diego. Roughly two months ago, my car began shaking violently and producing a loud, clattering noise every time I braked. Concerned for my safety, I took it to a trusted family mechanic who thoroughly inspected the brakes. What he found was absolutely appalling and infuriating: Old, low-quality, or reused brake components were installed instead of new ones. Critical parts were missing entirely from the brake assembly. No lubrication was applied where necessary, which led to severe wear and dangerous noise. The work was described by my trusted mechanic as "incomplete, lazy, and unsafe." I have photos taken during the inspection showing the missing clips, rusted parts, and lack of lubrication -- all of which are unacceptable given the almost $1,000 I was charged. These images clearly demonstrate the subpar quality and negligence of the service provided. This wasn't just poor workmanship -- this was predatory behavior. I was overcharged, under-serviced, and targeted because of my age and gender, assuming I wouldn't question or recognize a scam. This is not only unethical, it is dangerous. You compromised my safety on the road. I had to pay again out of pocket to have the brakes replaced and done properly. I am demanding a full refund of $975.24. This is not just about money -- it's about accountability. Businesses like yours do not get to profit from manipulating young, inexperienced customers while jeopardizing their lives. Please address this as soon as possible. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau, consumer protection agencies, and post online public reviews and social media platforms. read more

I came into breaks plus to check out my breaks it was the day before my vacation so I didn't want it cutting to much into my funds for vacation. They showed me all the things wrong with it and what needed to be done and explained everything. They said they were gonna stay late just to have it ready for me to leave in the morning and they were gonna close in less than an hour. They had a credit card and it's 6 months interest free and cheap payments. They called me early the next day and to tell me my car was ready. It drives like a brand new car. Thank you Breaks Plus. We took our daughter's car here for a tune up and expection while she was home on spring break. Sean exceeded our expectations in making sure her car is in excellent shape and allowing us to not worry about her being on the road. They had my car for 5 days, and when I drove it home, it was running worse than when it went in and I barely made it home. They had it towed back, came up with more reasons to go into my engine, claimed it had all these things wrong with it that were not there before they touched it, and did not prioritize fixing it as it should have been on a return. The people are shady and cause more trouble then they fix. I do not trust them at all. What should have been an $800 spark plug replacement turned into $3600 and 11 days without my car. I decided not to move forward with the work for a few reasons but then was advised I owed $179 for the diagnosis. I was never informed or advised that there would be an inspection fee in the first place when I dropped off the vehicle. This is a great way to make some money off of folks, let's omit the fact that we charge for an inspection and then the customer won't have a choice! Shady already. I called the front desk guy on it and his response was, " oh I didn't mention it? I'll tell you what, you get it fixed with us and I won't charge you." He went on to say how difficult it was for the tech to remove the door panel. I paid the ridiculous and omitted fee and for fun, decided to do some more research today and took my vehicle to another shop - Stamps Auto. On my way to Stamps, I noticed that the door was not even put back together correctly, with one screw half way put back in and the electronic mirror button stuck outside of the panel. This is $179 worth of work. Arrived at Stamps and they immediately notified me that it would be a $70 charge for the inspection (far more reasonable in price as well); what do you know, they communicated upfront! Just as I thought, this is how it should be. I then shared the diagnosis and asked for a quote to replace the parts - they offered $280. Greulich's total cost to replace the part was $560. Hmm. I became even more curious and went home to see how long it would take to pull off the door panel. 4 total screws, a nice pull and removed 3 small wiring harnesses, the panel was off in approx. 6 minutes. 6 minutes!!!! Greulich's is the reason why people don't trust these shady shops. I paid $179 for 6 minutes of work, that I was not notified of in the first place. This is not the type of auto repair shop we need in our community.

They do apply veteran discounts, as well as coupons related to brakes, so that's something to keep in mind if you need a lot of work if you travel like we do. The service is always top notch as they inspect everything, and the customer care is pretty awesome. Stephen did a great job despite the store being busy at opening times. Our only complaint is that phone calls to us don't go through, but it's to do with T-Mobile automatically marking this business as spam and not at all the fault of the company. My husband's car runs like a dream now, and we'll definitely continue returning. We've never had problems any time we've been here.

I originally brought my vehicle in for simple preventative maintenance just a transmission flush and there were no shifting issues beforehand. After getting the car back, we immediately noticed the transmission was shifting worse than before. It was clearly not operating correctly, which was extremely concerning considering it had no problems prior to the service. No tow service was offered, I had to pay out of pocket. Communication throughout this process was also very poor. Amy at AAMCO was the only person I ever spoke with, and I had to initiate every call myself. I was never proactively updated. I was told the GM would reach out, but as of today, I still have not received a call. The vehicle was dropped off Monday morning, no one called, I called and was told to call back in the AM. Called the next day multiple times with no updates available. Finally called at 11am Tuesday, was told give her 20-45 minutes. 2 hours went by and I called back and was told there was an issue. Thats when I was told it would cost $2,300 just to diagnose the issue. They told us that the vehicle started throwing codes as they pulled it into the bay. No codes or weird shifting before taking it there the first time. The first invoice states everything looks great, fluid, no codes and run great. The second invoice is where they call out these codes and from there is where it was the deny, deny, deny game. At that point, we decided to tow the vehicle to a dealership for a second opinion. They informed us that the transmission was completely done and would need to be replaced at a cost of $7,600. Going in for routine maintenance and ending up with a failed transmission is unacceptable. Then being asked to pay thousands more just for a diagnosis, along with the lack of communication, made the situation even worse. The poor customer experience and lack of empathy throughout this process has led me to never want to use AAMCO again. I suggest choosing a different shop. AAMCO is not a local small business, and based on my experience, it felt like they cared more about getting paid than what actually happens to your car.

The guy at the counter on Saturday was flat out rude. I understand nobody loves working weekends, but that's not something a paying customer should have to deal with. The bigger issue is the work itself. I brought my wife's car in for a simple oil change and when I got home it was leaking oil. That had never happened before. A few days later the check engine light came on. Two issues back to back on a car that had none before that visit. Another time I brought my truck in and had to turn around and come back 30 minutes later. And now, less than a week after my most recent visit, the check engine light just came on my truck. Every time I bring a vehicle here, something follows me home. Convenience is not worth the stress anymore. Hoping this review helps others make an informed decision.
