Dishonest!!! They gave me a quote saying I needed all 4 rotors and brake pads. My father in law didn't think it was that bad from driving it, and ended up looking at it himself and did the part and labor. Only needed two break pads and two rotors, while the back half was fine still having years worth of use. It's so hard to find honest car people. Always ask for before and after photos and proof of work done before agreeing and paying. These guys are scam artist and give the industry a bad reputation. read more

I used to take my car to brake master. But because brake plus was closer and had great reviews, I thought I'd try them out. Brought my car back in July 20th, 2024 for a brake works. No lights were on. They recommended changing the brake pads and rotor. They recommended the most expensive option with unlimited warranty. The following day, my emergency brakes wasn't working properly, the following month, engine light, the BTC, light came on. I gave them the benefit a doubt and brought it, now they recommended more work on it after paying for diagnostic. I have been talking with Carlos and Paul over the phone regarding my brakes, now, they are stating that it isn't their fault, however they can work on the recommendation. At this point, I'm not the capacity to spend anymore money. Warranty can't cover, they are saying. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They are fraud. The worst sound to start off the morning is your car screeching as you're backing out of the house along with a tantrumming toddler in the backseat. I had to make it in time for school drop off and head into work. This was absolutely a 2 for 1 morning special. I was so desperate to find a solution as this is my only vehicle. I stopped by Discount Tire who said the screeching sounded scary and that it was not tire related. I was referred to Brakes Plus nearby. Taylor was really kind and said they will likely be able to solve the issue as they are a full service auto shop. I was able to drop my car off and get squeezed into their schedule. I was contacted shortly after and was told the screeching problem was a little rock stuck between the brake rotor and the backing plate. Thank goodness I didn't have to replace anything major in the car! I expected at least a service bill for labor and time, but Taylor said it was such an easy fix since the rock popped right out and that they also do free inspections. Amazing, they were absolutely a lifesaver and I was able to pick my toddler up from school and get home safely, this time no screeching and a happy toddler in the backseat. I requested to have a few hundred dollars worth of services done (coolant flush, power steering fluid replaced, brake fluid replaced and alignment), they advised on window of store that they do a FREE brake inspection. I asked if they would look at a clicking in the front left wheel and they said to do an inspection would be $129, just to look at it and make more money on me for the additional repairs needed. I felt that was a ridiculous amount just to look into it, especially when they were already doing a free inspection. I expressed my opinion and said I'm going to take my business elsewhere if they wanted to stick me with an additional $129 on top of all the other services they would have made money on. The person who told me this was unprofessional, not clean and disrespectful. I have taken my cars here for many years, but the last couple times, I've felt they haven't been fair with the prices and services they provided. They are never willing to do things quickly, it's always leave the car with them and they will get to it whenever they can, even if that's the next day. They don't want to earn your business, they want you to over pay for their just mediocre service. I will not be going back. I found a new shop less than a mile west if this location and they did all the work including the cv joint for less than what this place originally quoted me for just the fluids and alignment. read more

Go to get brake pads. Leave $320 later and now I'm stuck on the side of the road with a shredded tire. That happens to be one of the tires they took off and put back on. So now I have to spend another $120 for a new tire. I will never recommend this place to anyone and will never be back. Be careful if you go there. They will cost you more than you think. read more

Dealership mentioned I needed some work, so I decided to go to Brakes Plus. They did a free inspection and told me what they recommend. Robert was very knowledgeable and actually took me into the shop and showed me the areas of concern on my car while it was still up. Satisfied, I elected to have new rear pads (with lifetime warranty), an alignment and brake fluid service completed. I was quoted 3-4 hours, but it was more like 2 1/2. They also provided me with a printout of other work on which I decided to pass for the time being. Robert applied coupons automatically for me and I was satisfied with the prices. The general manager, Michael, checked me out and offered his hand and thanked us for our business. I would definitely come back here, though if you are going to wait around, come early, make a plan to spend time outside of the business. I live in Las Vegas, but was in AZ when my AC went out. I spent $825 to get it fixed. First, they told me it was the condenser. A few hours later they call me to tell me that they got it wrong and that it was the compressor. They did replace the compressor at no charge because they got it wrong when they diagnosed it. Here we are 12 days later and my AC doesn't work. They said I am out of luck because they don't have a shop in Vegas and that I would have to pay out of pocket to have another mechanic look at it. They also said that if it is the compressor that isn't working that they won't warranty it because they gave it to me at no charge. THAT'S BECAUSE THEY MISDIAGNOSED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. So now I've filed complaints with the Atty General in AZ as well as their corporate office. If this doesn't get resolved then my attorney will be getting involved. Avoid Brakes Plus like the plague. They do NOT honor their warranties. read more

Got my brakes fixed here today. They seem fine, I am sure they are fine. The price was what I expected, fair enough. My issue was the amount of time I was told it would take and the amount of time that it actually took were vastly different. I was told my car would get in in about half an hour. I know this is for the initial inspection and then I agree to the repair and they do the repair. 2 hours later, I get the initial report. I asked then how long the repair would take. I was told an hour, hour and a half. 2 hours later, I am still waiting. If I would have been told even close to the truth, I would be writing a glowing review. read more

Excellent experience today. Brought my F350 in for an oil change and to have the brakes looked at. Their prices were competitive, they reported that my rotors were worn to minimums and that my pads were good thickness but might be glazed. I asked them to go ahead and replace the rotors, but to keep the pads if they were in good condition. That's what they did. My truck brakes beautifully now, I noticed that they used seat protectors and kept my seats clean. 1000$ was the final price for the brakes and the oil change - Parts came to around 475$ and their oil cost was about 110$ (diesel truck - just about 4 gallons of oil). Considering how much rust, frozen on fittings, and mud/dust they had to deal with I walked away feeling like I was dealt with fairly. I really appreciated that they didn't just replace my pads and tell me they were too glazed . . . I was pretty confident that they were fine because I'd replaced them myself not that many 1000's of miles ago and they hadn't been abused or overused in that time period . . . but I've come to expect paying for extra things when I'm traveling and dont have a shop of my own and the convenience of just fixing things myself. Robert Bennett and Hank Thaler were our two service advisors and I was very impressed by their teamwork, honesty, customer service and knowledge. Paul and Dakota were absolutely amazing! I have not had a good experience previous at breaks plus and on top of that as well as previous auto shops. I bring in my vehicle for my wheels shaking and another place quoted me over $1000 to fix it!!! Paul was super patient with me explaining my experience and what was going on. Dakota took the time to throughly inspect my car to tell me that the other place was entirely incorrect and the repairs they said I needed were not necessary. He explained the issue, how to fix it, what they can do, when I should get it done by and on top of that, for significantly less cost than the other place tried to charge me!! I've gone to Brakes Plus two times to have work done on my car. They are close to my office and the service I've received both times has been outstanding. The first time, my tail light was out and I needed a quick replacement bulb. They replaced my bulb for free, which was such a nice surprise. I went back to have my front brakes and rotors replaced. I was given a quote and decided to have the work done. An hour later, my work was completed and I was ready to go. The staff at Brakes Plus was professional and treated me with respect. I explained to them that I just need the car to have the repairs to make it drivable for short term until I can get her a new vehicle in another state. They went above and beyond to keep the price affordable and make the brakes and belts safe. I have taken my car into the Brakes Plus on Greenfield and Baseline 3 times now and each time they continue to disappoint me further. I continued giving them chances because of the great service I used to receive at their location on Cooper and Warner but will no longer be using any of their locations for even the most basic maintenance. The first time I visited the Greenfield and Baseline location was for a routine oil change. When I went back to pick up my car, the check engine light had turned on while in their care. I took my keys back promptly and requested they fix whatever had broken during the oil change, as when I had brought the car in there weren't any preexisting issues. They happily worked to fix it free of charge and sent me on my way until the next day my check engine light reappeared and I had to take it back yet again for another complimentary fix due to their carelessness. This was the second of three times I had to take it back before the issue was resolved. I decided to give them a second chance because I knew some of the problems were probably due to my car having a lot of miles and being a relatively old model (2008 Chevy HHR) at the time. When my maintenance required light came on, I took my car in for a check up and specifically asked that they not do any significant work on it until I had the complete diagnosis as I was fresh out of college and only interested in solving any immediate mechanical concerns. When they called me back to describe the situation at hand I was informed that $450 worth of repairs had already been completed and that they were about to begin the remaining $350. I asked them to stop immediately because they had already exceeded the necessary work and began preventative care. This was now the second time I asked to speak to a manager and was redirected to a Service Supervisor; after addressing my concerns, I paid my bill and moved along thinking that this was a miscommunication and that the damage had already been done. Yesterday I hesitantly dropped off my new-to-me 2010 Toyota Camry yet again for another oil change around 10:00am after my mom insisted that I use her $15 off coupon. I started calling just before 6:00pm (when they close) to check on the status of my oil change that I was warned "will likely take 3-4 hours" because I didn't have an appointment. This seemed more than reasonable considering 3-4 hours after I dropped it off should have been completed by 3:00pm at the latest. I asked my mom to drive me over after calling repeatedly and not having a single call answered to have the same guy I had spoken to earlier, Jeremy, tell me that it was too late to pick up my car and that he "had called me repeatedly and left 3 different voicemails". I showed him that I had only received 1 missed call and a 3 second inaudible voicemail from them and that I had tried to call several times before close with no luck. He apologized and sent me home to pick up my car the following morning as early as 8:00am. I went back this morning and retrieved my car only for the coupon that had sent me back in the first place to not be redeemable. I am extremely disappointed by the unreliable care and terrible customer service I've repeatedly received from the Brakes Plus on Greenfield and Baseline and will be contacting the manager to inform him of my experiences with the hope that customer care will be taken more seriously for those who continue using their services. I will never again trust Brakes Plus' services at any location and would recommend that anyone considering receiving care from a Brakes Plus facility drive the extra distance to the Cooper and Warner location where they are significantly more likely to receive a higher quality of care and professionalism. read more

These guys actually charged me to remove their battery and install my battery. I informed Scott that I will do it myself in their customer parking lot. He replied with OSHA will fine them if I do it. First off he lied to me stating that my battery is fried and wanted me to purchase their battery. I brought the battery to Walmart where I purchased it (it was still under warranty). It came back good and they even charged it for me. When I informed Scott. He said it tested bad when they ran their test. They did not even try to charge. Really disappointed with this shop. They told me they were going to test drive my car; then give me a call with options and tell me what was up with my car. This is exactly what they did!! They gave me a call and told me my brakes and break pads were in perfect condition and I was shocked... such honesty. He told me no need to change my pads or front breaks but my back ones needed to be flushed which I already knew because they are drum breaks and I can't fix them myself. I took my car in because of a brake grinding issue, I know how to change brakes and know why they make noises. After they "inspect" they hand me my keys and say "everything looks good, thanks for coming in" Complete crap, I knew better than to believe that shenanigans.
