After a previous positive experience, I went to get my rear brakes done here today. When I arrived, I asked if they were busy and Darius said that they were not. I told him I was waiting locally and went to the coffee shop across the street. Two hours later I hadn't heard anything so I went back to find that they were just lifting my car, that it had been two hours and they hadn't even started it. I'm sorry, but two hour wait to even start is not "not busy". I had them pull my car down off the lift and left obviously. I will not patronize any business that is dishonest. I dropped my vehicle off at 11:00 a.m. on a Friday and was told it will be done by 4:00 but they did not even inspect it until 4:30 and they would have to keep it till Saturday. Then I received a phone call on Saturday saying that "they had no power" and that my car was left on the lift and they would have to keep it until Monday. I'm assuming that they sent all their technicians home because they actually were closed for a parade that was happening in front of their business. When asked for a discount for my inconvenience, the new manager said that the previous manager gave me a better deal than he would have even done and only took $10 off . AVOID THIS AUTO SHOP Terrible experience. Went in for a very simple oil change and they overfilled our truck with newrly an entire quart of oil. If we had not checked the oil level, we would have destroyed our engine. We called in to days later, and they didn't care, telling us "We got you" over the phone. I stopped by Brake Masters on Friday afternoon and Kraig asked me to drop my vehicle off Saturday morning....so at 8am Saturday morning I drop off my Audi Q7 for a much needed brake job. I knew that I was long overdue for the repairs and Kraig pointed out that my pads and rotors were FUBR...so I prepared myself for the BOHICA Factor - (you know Bend Over Here It Comes Again) but much to my surprise Kraig and his team finished way ahead of schedule and they were remarkably under budget and they even cleaned my truck up a bit. I dropped off my SUV there, and within 45 minutes, they called me to give me an honest diagnostic of my problem. My car needed Brake Pads and Rotors replaced. When I asked if I could get away with resurfacing the Rotors, he told me that they were beyond repair. Ramon even showed me my old brake pads and rotors to show me why they were beyond repair. It's unfortunate that car repair shops are more into the money than the people that provide that money. I'm a family man and explained that I wasn't looking to break the bank fixing my rotors & brakes. They wanted me to replace my new brakes to ensure their quality of service. I'm not throwing away perfectly good brakes and spending $100 on new ones. I can go buy new brake pads for $40. They tack on a 12 month warranty service with that $100. The only reason some of us are forced to come to these shops is time. But they charge $160 per/hr for theirs. So we are punished for not having the time. I had to ask about coupons so I can get the price a little lower. He obviously wasn't interested, or didn't care about our financial situation. After completing the job at the last minute he informed me of a leak on one of my calipers. I asked if they could fix it and he said no, not enough time in the day. They quoted me $230 for a new caliper. It seem like they have a goal of getting $1000 per customer, per visit. After having this experience, we will not be back. Business's need to think about the customer experience each time they visit. If people feel like they are getting ripped off and not heard, they won't come back. We are still looking for a repair shop that actually takes the time and care to listen to our concerns. Each time I spoke with the gentlemen he seemed non-interested and too busy. No eye contact or concern for my needs. When I voiced my concern he wasn't concerned at all. A little reassurance goes a long way. I thought about not making this review, but as usual, people need to know realistic expectations when they visit any business. That is why I do it. read more

Made an appointment for a oil change at 4:00. I arrived 15 min early to do the paperwork. The guy at the desk from Ohio told me it would be 1 hour. After working all day I walked to Big Lots and back to blow off an hour. When I came back after my hour they hadn't even started on my car. I will never use this business. Nice people but I used a coupon that included tire rotation- I originally mentioned the tire rotation, my chief reason for having an oil change was for tire rotation & when I walked out to leave after paying, I realized my tires weren't rotated. This place has been trying to fix my brakes for two years +. They can't figure it out. I get new brakes every time I bring the car in for an oil change. They replace pads, rotors, etc.. Same result. Within a 1000 miles, my brakes are screaming and I have high speed pulsation that gets worse. Last time they told me I had a bad lower control arm. If I get that fixed, that'll solve my problems. I did it. $580. It didn't work. They don't know how to diagnose and they clearly don't road test their work. B.A.R. and BBB are on my radar for escalation. I mentioned a brake-master employee who had Down syndrome & that I was unhappy with the service. I was told to watch my mouth because the person I was talking too also was on the spectrum. They thought it was funny to put my truck on a lift & eat lunch in front of me..I reassembled my own trucks brakes that day as they watched on & I recorded everything. Do not go here. Got my rear drums changed and a brake fluid flush. Drive the car home 15 minutes. Rear driver side brake is smoking like crazy and feels like my cars brakes are on just enough to cause pulling feeling. They told me to come back so I did, then they adjusted something. I figured I'd drive it around a 1 mile block to check things out. Still feels like something pulling and slowing my car down so I continue to drive back to their shop. I get out of my car and now both rear brake drums are smoking. We get in an argument saying it's my cars old axles, he threatens to call the cops on me. I told him to put my tires back on and keep the money. Went to Danny's Automotive down the street and see what they say. This place is bad. Do not go here. read more

Terrible service from the tall guy at the front desk with a foreign accent. Asked is they could loosen a couple of bolts as it was too tight to loosen by hand. I even offered to pay for it. He refused and gave me some lame excuse that he might strip the bolt. Really??? Went a block down the street to Goodyear and had it done in 5 minutes and free of charge along with a smile. BEWARE OF THIS SHOP!!! Steve Eschelbach and his crew at Brake Masters Store 133 in Orangevale fried my entire electrical system in my car replacing my alternator. I initially took my car in for my door handle to be replaced at which time they also recommended a myriad of suspension work to be done as well as replacing my alternator and battery that I agreed to have them to do. When I went to pick up my vehicle it was inoperable and they had "no idea" what happened or how to fix it. (my car was completely operable before) Over the course of the next week or so the crew at BM tried to figure out what they did to my car. All the while they were IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of and I had to acquire rides and SHOW UP IN PERSON to get any status updates on my car NUMEROUS TIMES. They wouldn't ever call to update me and their phone would ring off the hook with no option to leave a voicemail. They told me they couldn't figure out what was wrong and shipped my car off to the local Nissan dealership. After Nissans examination it was clear that the "repairs" BM did my my alternator caused not only the IPDM but the ECU and all electronic components to be completely fried. the total cost to get my car running again was nearly $3,500. This is AFTER I already paid BM $3,500 for what they did to my car. I then went to BM to share Nissans findings with Steve and he immediately shooed me off refusing to look at any of my documents. I asked for his supervisors information and he refused to give me that as well. Distraught, I called the BM corporate number to try and file a complaint against Steve and was patched though to their customer support line that had a FULL voicemail box. I ended up speaking to an operator an she told me Steves supervisor Enrique would be contacting me regarding the matter. This was 4 days ago and I still haven't heard anything. I wend BACK to BM in person because I again couldn't reach them by telephone and Steve literally RAN to the back room when I tried to get ant information on who to contact to fix this issue. He then came out of the back room and informed me that his supervisor advised him to not communicate with me and that his supervisor is not going to talk to me either and that "the lawyers would contact me" I was again literally shooed out of the store with no answers and no direction. I then called the BM cooperate line again and am awaiting the call from the District manager Mike. Apparently Enrique is "out" Currently. UNREAL! The absolute lack of communication and unwillingness to work with a long time customer (about 7 years) is disgusting. I feel hurt, used, and disrespected. I need that money for rent and to feed my family. hopefully someone sees this and avoids this awful unprofessional "business" Avoid Steve Eschelbach and BM at all costs! read more

Worst experience ever.. Dishonest employees and the manager even went so far to pass the blame on his employees.. Darius, the manager blamed his employee Nate and went so far as to say he would get him fired.. I went in for my brakes and they told me that is was an emergency to have the Pads replaced that very day.. I listened to their advice and when I left I noticed a strange sound and that my front left wheel had been damaged.. I called when I got home and was very concerned and they advised me to "hobble" my car back to them.. Instead I took it to Les Schwab tire center where they told me my wheel was damaged and that a hose had been cut.. I then took my car back to Brake Masters where they confirmed the cut hose but said it was a faulty hose.. I paid another $400 for this to be fixed.. The next day I drove down to Land River where they confirmed that the hose was not old enough for it to be damaged the way it was.. I called Brake Masters and spoke to Darius to try and give them an opportunity to make this situation correct and he hung up on me.. Poor experience. When I made the appointment I let them know I would wait as I don't have alternate transportation. In other shops, my car would be done ahead of others who were not waiting, but not this shop. As my car sat parked for a half hour, I asked how long before it was done. The guy said if I didn't want the 5 point free inspection it would go faster. I paid the bill and left. When I got home I looked more at the invoice and realized I was overcharged $5.00 so I called, spoke with a woman whose name I didn't get. I explained that I used their coupon for $59.95. Tax and fees were about $7.00, total should be $67.00 but I was charged $72.00. She said the price of oil went up and declined to credit the $5.00. She pointed out that I signed the invoice and said she'd send it to corporate if I wanted. The price for oil on the invoice is $54.95 plus $5 filter, matching the coupon. I told her I was done arguing and wouldn't be back. However, I did file complaint with Bureau of Automotive Repair. And posted this review here. You know what I appreciate about this business? Their integrity. I've been having some very specific brake issues and the owner took a lot of time and staff time to figure it out. Unfortunately, I must take my car to the dealer as it is very specific to a Lexus. Believe it or not, he did not charge us a penny because he could not address the issue. Although to be fair to him he gave us a good idea of what the problem is. I highly recommend Brake Masters. They were quick and thorough. Had them change the oil and rotate the tires on two of my vehicles over the last few years. The service consultant is really cool. Unfortunately, I do not know his name. He has a German accent. He seems honest and knowledgeable and does not try to up-sale you on unnecessary repairs. It does take a few hours to do an oil change though, but so does the dealer. These guys did a great job installing a new brake booster and didn't try to upsell me to buy the master cylinder when i didn't need it saving me $$$$. They also went the extra mile fixing this very annoying sound my vehicle was making because of a hose. I was there for a lot of hours because of the nature of my fix and i heard customers coming in repeatedly thanking them for doing such a good job working on their vehicles and how they like only coming to this location.
