I had some work done on my 2017 Toyota Corolla a while back and I paid a premium price comparable to the dealership at this shop. The work was good, but the parts pricing was extreme. The labor is $215 an hour and on top of that, they marked up basic parts by 100% to nearly 400% over standard retail prices. Here is exactly what I was charged compared to what these parts sell for at AutoZone or Toyota directly: · Spark Plugs (Denso, 4 plugs): Charged $77.97 each. Retail is about $16. That is a 387% markup. · Drive Belt: Charged $156.49. Retail is about $35. That is a 347% markup. · Purge Valve (aftermarket): Charged $224.90. Comparable retail is about $100. That is a 125% markup. · Fuel Cap: Charged $57.46. Toyota OEM retail is about $28. That is a 105% markup. · Throttle Cleaner: Charged $45.70. Retail is about $12. That is a 281% markup. Obviously, it was my bad that I trusted this place to have fair pricing and didn't do this research prior to paying/agreeing to service. I won't make that mistake again. I did bring it up with the service manager and he offered me a $200 credit for future service. That's not something I'm interested in. I don't even have words to explain what happened and I see that they've gotten a lot of good reviews so maybe my situation was not common? I made an appointment to drop my car off and very specifically explain what I needed checked. I told them I was going on vacation and they guarantee that they would call me within 24 hours and then start the work right away. 8 days went by a patiently waited for a phone call and never heard one word. When I called on the 8th day they had no explanation why I had not been contacted and nothing had been done on my car except adding a little bit of freon to the AC. When I asked why I hadn't been contacted the owner simply just said that they had been busy. And all my years of having my car scared for I have never had this happen before. Honest and reasonable is the best way I can describe Saj at True Blue. As someone that is not a mechanic and doesn't know a lot about cars, I put my guard up when it comes to auto work and want to make sure I'm getting a good deal and only doing the work that is necessary. I've been in the Roseville area for 6 years and haven't found a mechanic I trusted so before getting some suspension work done on my truck, I went to several shops to get estimates. Not only did the pricing come back better with Saj but he was the only one that I felt was giving me an honest opinion and suggestion. Coincidentally, each shop had a different opinion but none were able to explain the job to me as clearly as Saj and also help me understand the priority in what needed to be done. He never tried to upsell me or get me to do additional work which is exactly how I felt with the other shops. Moving forward: I'll be taking all my vehicles to True Blue and I'd highly suggest you calling and working with Saj before you get ANY work done on your car. Sadly, I had a bad experience @ True Blue. A while back, I brought my Toyota Tacoma in for a "check engine" light. It cost around $120 and it was determined that the speed sensor on the transmission had gone bad. As a shade tree mechanic, I easily changed the $240 part. That did not fix the problem. Fortunately, through a somewhat serendipitous series of events, I found out that the instrument cluster was defective ... another $360 part. I was able to change the part (a video on You Tube showed how and it was really easy) myself. We go to "experts" because they are supposed to be up to date on problems and the instrument cluster problem, it turned out, was diagnosed by a CAR PARTS STORE counter person! So, not only did I pay $120 to get a wrong diagnosis, but I paid another $240 buying a part that was not needed. True Blue's reply to my request for a refund for, at a minimum, the diagnosis was that they did their job and gave me the information their codes told them. But, their information was incomplete. Due to their ignorance, they should have refunded the money. I'll not go back. read more

First of all, I would like to apologize to Saj and Jeff, for NOT getting this post out any sooner than now. I am preparing to move to Houston, and to say I have had my mind on other things, is putting it very mild. Second of all, I would like to deeply thank Rob Auernig, of Auernig Auto Body, for the excellent advice he provided sending me to True Blue when my 2005 Toyota Pickup Truck was having a few issues. Rob Auernig and his staff did such an amazing job on some body work I had done after I was T-BONED, that literally NO ONE could tell where the repair was. THEY ARE THAT GOOD!! They also do dealer fleet work for brand new damaged cars coming in on deliveries to various area car dealers!! OK, so back to True Blue. This is honestly the most honest auto repair place I have been to in my entire life!! Everyone knows someone and say they will give you this deal, and that deal. Not True Blue!! They mean what they estimate, and they give you a fair deal. Jeff once had a bid for me that exceeded the work they had done. When I came to pick up my truck, he told me he didn't have to do A, and that B was not worn out, and C was just crooked and needed reseated!! All items were deducted from my original estimate, much to my surprise! Customer Service there is way above my expectations! Always greeted with a smile, always above just being friendly. They even laugh out loud at my jokes, most of the time! They always ask if you have a ride home, and if you don't live in Stockton, and they have someone available, they will give you a ride home. This might not always be the case, because when Saj or Jeff tell a customer when their car will be ready, it WILL BE READY!! So, they may not have the time. They don't want you to wait like you do at the dentist, doctor, etc. Oh, and in the mean time, while you wait at home to get that call, you have already gotten updates on the status from either Jeff, or Saj!! When I say these guys are good, I mean they are awesome!! I will miss this kind of loyalty and trustworthiness from them when I get to Houston!! Went in for an alignment and all was good with that. Gave me a deferred work list. Way overpriced. Cabin air filter - $92.02. (True Blue price) Bought cabin air filter for under $20.00 and took me under 10 minutes to change. Battery replacement - $247.52 (True Blue price) I always go to the Toyota dealership for oil change so yesterday with oil change as I was due, new wiper blades installed and new battery installed was a total of $280 and change and that's a dealership. Was also told I need a strut/shock job and wanted $1,300.90. Called them and asked what brand and that was for Monroe. I told them I wanted Bilstein 6112's in front and 5100's in rear. Was quoted a little over $1,500. for this. I asked what model Bilsteins Jeff was quoting and he told me the 5000 series. Asked for the model number and he said again the 5000 series. I am assuming they were gonna put 5100's in front and rear which is not what I asked for. I can get a full set of 5100's shipped for under $500.00 so he wanted over a $1,000.00 for labor. Told him that's not what I want and told him I can get the 6112's (front) and the 5100's (rear) shipped for $860.00. That's still over $600 bucks in labor. I was ready to start giving them my business as they seemed like a nice business but their prices are crazy. read more

Best service in town. I have a 97 F150 and in 2012 I took it to Jeff at True Blue because of the front end squeaking so bad, Jeff put it up on the rack and told me the front end needed replaced and he quoted me a price of $900. The job was done on time and came in at $847. In 2013 my A/C system went out and Jeff gave me an estimate of $1400. Finished one day after promised, due to a part not being available, cost of $1275. One month later the A/C started acting up and Jeff searched high and low to figure out what was wrong. It was an intermittent problem, so was very hard to fix, the new part needed cast $60 more, but Jeff said he would not charge me any extra. It is now 2017 and I have a 2010 F150, Jeff and his team came to the rescue again. The dash would go dead as I was driving. Diagnosed as a bad instrument panel, Cost..$900 for a new one. Jeff offered to try to take mine apart and repair it. He spent several hours working on it, IT'S FIXED!!!! other things in the dash that were not working now work as a result of his repair. (because of the computer in the instrument cluster) Now my truck works like new, thanks to Jeff. Final cost... $430. If I could give True Blue Auto Care 10 Stars, I Highly Recommend to my friends and family. read more

I took my Ford Focus in because it broke down. Saj was amazingly friendly, used my name, and assured me things were going to be ok. His customer service skills are off the charts! I was freaking out about what to do with my car and how much money it would cost, but he assured me that everything would be ok and we would figure it out. His friendliness and customer service was genuine and kept me calm. During the process of my car getting fixed, I was dealing with Jeff over the phone. He was very thorough at explaining what was wrong and how they would need to fix it. He also gave suggestions on what they could do that would save me money. For example, my ignition was broken by people getting my car off the trailer when it was towed. Jeff said he would try to see if there was a way he could fix it himself to just charge for labor if the damage wasn't too bad. And he did it! He saved me $300 by being a great mechanic. With all the stuff going on with my car, I was originally quoted $1100. But the guys worked their butts off and found ways to save my money and I ended up paying $873. Paying that much on my car still hurts, but things happen and I appreciate True Blue being so good to me! I know I will continue to only use them from now on because I trust them. read more

Had my brakes done at this place and they are the noisy all the time I've taken back several times they said they greased them a lot but they squeak and clank all the time. Other shops tools me it's because of cheap pads they use and not ceramic. The picture I attached is after they had my car 2 days and could not figure out what the problem was with my cooling system over heating , then I get it back this is what I walked out from work to find coolant all on the ground. Honesty, Integrity & Quality is their motto and they live up to it every time I take one of my vehicles to them. Last month I took my classic 1956 F-100 to them for an inspection before putting it up for sale. It came through with flying colors.... Last week I took them my "replacement" truck for the same thing. I thought that all it would need would be a tune-up... I was wrong. They looked up the maintenance schedule for the truck and found that the tune-up is still thousands of miles away from being needed. However, Jeff found that the radiator was hanging on by a fraction of an inch of metal. Somehow the previous owner had done something that caused the radiator mounts to break leaving it in a bad situation. Saj sent me some pictures and then called with the good-bad news. Tune-up later.... good. Radiator replacement should be done now... bad. Jeff had completed a full inspection of the 13-year-old truck and found the radiator problem and a few minor things that Saj suggested I could do myself (change light bulbs and wiper blades). Later the next day I get a call that the truck is ready. GREAT service. GREAT communication. NO pressure to do things that I know a dealer would "guilt" me into having done.
