I am sending him a demand letter (see pictures) today and am prepared to follow up with a complaint to the Bureau of Automotive Repair and file suit. Other work was ok, but not problem free. I see that the owner responded to my review. My friend did indeed work on my brakes. He replaced the rotors and the brake pads. He didn't touch the hydraulics. Sunrise Auto did the work on the hydraulic lines for the left front wheel brakes. The failure of my brake system occurred because the brake line work was not properly done. Sunrise Auto placed the flexible brake line where it would rub on the inside wheel well, ultimately causing a break in the line and a failure of hydraulic pressure. As I said, this botched repair job put my son at risk of serious bodily injury or death from traveling in a vehicle with no brakes. Here's my personal message to you, Peter. You evidently ignored my demand letter because I didn't receive payment. The next step is the Bureau of Automotive Repair. And after that I will pursue other legal remedies. I hope the readers of my review and your response will take heed and will take their business to another mechanic who performs reputable work.

They told me I had an upper pan oil leak and cam tower leaks that needed repair. The quote I received was way too high, so I reached out to Japan Auto Care on a family member's recommendation. Matt and the team were great from the start. He assured me they would be transparent about the work and offer a fair price, and they delivered on both. Communication was clear throughout the entire process, and they even followed up after the service was complete to make sure everything was running smoothly. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their work and about their customers. I would not hesitate to bring my Subie back here again.

I brought my car in to get my ac fixed. I've had an issue with not being able to recharge it and when I brought in my car it would not make cool air, heater still worked and this is important for later. I waited around 15 minutes to be seen as there was no one in the office and eventually one of the service techs came out to ask what I was doing. He was nice enough to check in my car and send me on my way with the expectation that it would be worked on that day. Fantastic! I'm a single payer household with one car and two days off just like many of you reading this. I got a call about half an hour after that from the person who was working the office that day, they informed me that the service tech was mistaken and they didn't know how the scheduling system works for when the work will be done and it would be a few days. I should have known right there to just pick up my car but I wanted to give them a chance. Just under $1400 for a new compressor and the labor to install it, I was thinking it was steep but I wanted ac in my during the heat wave of the summer. I paid and picked up my car using the after hours drop off. (The combo was off by a digit and not the one they sent me initially.) I drove my car less than 500 miles before my car broke down, when the work was done to my ac it seems to have killed the blower inside my intake manifold. I know that because I brought my car back and explained what happened. They told charged me for a check engine light diagnostic, told me what the issue was and asked me to pay another $1300 for a new intake manifold. Not a single word about taking any kind of responsibility, discount to make it right, nothing. I took my car and got a used manifold and got it installed. Which worked fine for a while until that one also blew. If I could go back in time, I would take away the excitement I had for having ac for the first time in a summer because now as we approach winter I can't use my fans at all without having my car stop again. I paid almost $2000 for the privilege of being hot in the summer and cold in the winter and trying to use my air will throttle my engine at low rpms. I will answer any and all questions about my experience if anyone would like to send me messages. To those hard working people out there who are worried about getting work done and there being no recourse, for the amount I paid, the dealer would have been better and taken care of problems that arouse.

The labor is $215 an hour and on top of that, they marked up basic parts by 100% to nearly 400% over standard retail prices. Here is exactly what I was charged compared to what these parts sell for at AutoZone or Toyota directly: · Spark Plugs (Denso, 4 plugs): Charged $77.97 each. Retail is about $16. That is a 387% markup. · Drive Belt: Charged $156.49. Retail is about $35. That is a 347% markup. · Purge Valve (aftermarket): Charged $224.90. Comparable retail is about $100. That is a 125% markup. · Fuel Cap: Charged $57.46. Toyota OEM retail is about $28. That is a 105% markup. · Throttle Cleaner: Charged $45.70. Retail is about $12. That is a 281% markup. Obviously, it was my bad that I trusted this place to have fair pricing and didn't do this research prior to paying/agreeing to service. I won't make that mistake again. I did bring it up with the service manager and he offered me a $200 credit for future service. That's not something I'm interested in. If you're looking for affordable prices, this is not the place.

He offered free lift ride back to my residence instead of waiting. When the car was ready for pick up, Mike called and arranged for another lift pick up. Decent Work, But Communication and Pricing Left a Bad Taste…read more I'll give them this much: the brake repair on my 2001 Ford Ranger was solid. They did good work getting me stopping again, and their assessment of the other deferred repairs the truck needs was thorough and informative. But two major issues bring this down. The Communication Problem Chris from the service desk kept saying he'd call or email me with updates -- and then... nothing. Left me hanging more than once. I shouldn't have to chase down answers about my own vehicle. That's basic customer service. The Pricing This is where I have real concerns. I had my regular mechanic look at the same itemized report. AAA Citrus Heights Auto Repair Center charged 66% more than my trusted guy for the same work. Here's the thing -- my truck wasn't drivable. The brakes failing made it unsafe. When a customer is in that position, they don't have much leverage to shop around. That puts us in a vulnerable spot, and the pricing feels predatory as a result. The One Bright Spot They did honor my Veterans discount -- 10% off a roughly $1,500 bill. I appreciate that, and the staff who applied it were professional. Bottom Line The actual repair work was good. The assessment was thorough. But the communication failures and what feels like opportunistic pricing mean I won't be going back -- and I can't in good conscience recommend them without caveats.
