She kept me updated the whole time letting me know what they tryed/ looked at and how everything was done. my car battery even died while there and she called me to asked me if I had a warranty on it trying to help me save any way and luckily I DID I honestly probably wouldn't have thought of it in the moment of she didn't and let me know what else I will need to done and when. WARNING!!! Do not go to this Brake Masters. The Store manager, Lori Sowell, came across as the most spiteful, unknowledgeable, vindictive individual in that shop. I dropped off my vehicle for front brakes $150ish I was quoted. And what do you know, after their "inspection" they find over $1,000 worth of "mandatory maintenance": new rotors, new calipers, you name it. I've been going to the brake masters in Queen creek for years, and I should've stayed at that location. They've always been very honest and upfront with me. After getting the call from the front desk gentleman and questioning the veracity of everything he was telling me, Lori snatches the phone from him and begins to very condescendingly argue with me over what I want done. She became combative when I would not agree to her scammy upsells. I told her I want just the front disc brakes changed and turn the rotors (turning was included). She tells me, "if you aren't going to trust me to do your brakes then I'm not working on it. Take it to someone else." It was very inconvenient as I had to arrange rides to and from twice. I get to the shop to pick up my truck and I wait at least 10 mins until Lori comes in to give me my truck keys and paperwork. This is where it gets good. She is literally yelling at me in the store after I tell her I'm giving her a terrible review on all sites possible. She reads my company name on my business attire, and hisses, "it works both ways, what's your company name? I see, I will give your company a bad review the same as you review mine." I informed her that my company has never had any business dealings with her, and she was spiteful and unprofessional. I informed her that the state of Arizona has laws against defamation, and we would slap a massive defamation lawsuit against her and Brake Masters for her threats and slander. Can you believe this woman? Who does that? Before she gave me my keys she literally tried to intimidate me by staring me down. It felt like she was possessed or something. What human treats another human like that? It's no wonder this location was empty. After reading reviews this place is going downhill fast. I spoke with corporate and had the district manager call me. He is supposed to be getting back to me. Hopefully he does soon. UPDATE: the next day I took my truck to Big O Tires. AMAZING. Saved me a boat load of money. Replaced all four disc brakes on my vehicle, TURNED the rotors no problem, and calipers were just fine (as I suspected) Watch out for auto scammers like Lori at the Brake Masters on Baseline and 24th in Mesa. read more

On March 26th, I took my car to the BrakeMasters on Baseline to get an oil change and tire rotation. Lori at BrakeMasters did an excellent job of letting me know about my worn down brake calipers since my car had been making noises. I was worried about it but I needed to get it done since I use my car for work. Lori had excellent customer service and I will definitely be back again because I can trust them to do a great job with my vehicle. Now my vehicle is without noises and it puts my stress at ease. TOTAL SCAM- BAD BRAKES. Cost $900. My brakes went out on my Monday's evening rush hour. I called Brake Master before closing and arrived with my vehicle information. They verified that they had the items in stock. The following morning, I arrived that check my brakes & concluded that the front brakes were bad. The rears were ok initially. Upon closing, the manager told the mechanic to check the rear driver side because he had not fully verify. (The scam begins) in the morning I arrived when the shop open. I told him just do the front brakes that I agreed to do. Due to I was in a rush. $930. Immediately upon leaving my brakes were making noise. I called and was told to wait a couple of days. If persist, then bring the car in. I arrived the following Monday and they were busy. I called another location and was told if I was within 50 miles of the store that I had to go there. The following day (literally a week later) the First Thing that came out of his mouth was I told you after the driver rear brake. The SCAM!! I made an appointment for the following Saturday. I went to Brake Masters 151 on E. Baseline to have my automobile checked after I noticed some fluids on the garage floor. I had a repair done for a transmission leak at another place. When I arrived Lori, the manager, made arrangements for the car to be inspected. Within an hour of waiting, Lori had me view the car on the to rack. She and the mechanic explained to me that a spray was put on the parts when I had a recent repair, and that there were no leaks I intend to get all my repairs done at this Brake Masters. My reasons are: 1. Lori has a well run shop. She explains things very well. 2. Their head mechanic has 20 years experience with Brake Masters and is an excellent resource for the other mechanics 3. They seem very honest. They did not waste my time trying to upselling me services I did not need. I feel confident that the persons who work at this Brake Masters will treat me fairly and are very competent to do repairs. read more

Definitely different then the other locations i been going to the one on southern and they would tell me what is wrong with my car and i would pay to get it fix this location seem clueless and wanna charge for everything. Couldn't do my tire rotation or a inspection but ask can they do a alignment but there is something causing the tires to wear but it will cost for them to inspect it. With a coupon for $15 off an oil change, I called Brakemasters to see about coming in. Guy told me it was busy but they could squeeze me in around 3. I said well, would it be better to schedule an appointment for tomorrow? He says yes, definitely! So I schedule an oil change for 1 pm. Next day I show up at 12:50, go in and tell desk employee I have an appointment at 1. He says sure, but I'll have to leave the car there bc they won't be able to get me in for 2 hours! I say that's why I made an appointment, and I can't leave my car. He says yeah, we'll someone called so they can't do it. I say okay, I'm outta here! I won't be back...ever! read more

Previous work I got done at a different break masters and had no problems, however the location I go to was booked and I needed to get my breaks fixed. I knew going in exactly what was wrong, originally they called and quoted exactly what I knew needed to be done to be done, then later get a call that magically it's needs more than two grand more work than originally quoted (super concerning that you had already inspected and quoted and then all of the sudden there is a ton more work needed) said no because I knew going in exactly what was wrong with my car. However I go to pick it up and drive home and the whole drive home my car isn't cooling off... my AC was perfectly fine before they worked on my car and did their "courtesy inspection." Call to let them know that my AC that was working just fine was not working and the managers response was we didn't even touch that, which yes you shouldn't have I never asked you to however you clearly did because if was broken. Do not go to this location. I've never ever had an experience like this before. Horrible experience, my car was broken in their care and then the manager wanted to hang up on me when I wouldn't accept that it wasn't their fault. No thank you, save your time and go somewhere not so shady. There is clearly a reason this is the only location around that had last minute appointments available this day. I will note that they did end up fixing my AC for free, but this was after a very lovely conversation with their joke of a manager. read more

Went in for some brake work and received an accurate assessment of the condition of the brakes. The work was completed in a timely manner at a reasonable price. Things that I brought to their attention (questions, issues) were immediately addressed with promises to remedy any problems experienced from my visit. Let's face it, visits to a repair shop are usually not gleefully anticipated, so it goes a long way when they make the visit comfortable and as stress-free as possible. The service manager was very nice and accommodating, and the pricing was good -- the lack of attention to detail, however, was potentially deadly. They replaced my rear rotors and pads and replaced one brake caliper. When I left the shop, the brake pedal pressure felt soft and spongy, and my car manual seemed to indicate this happens after brake maintenance. Shortly after, the brake warning light came on, and braking became super rough. I pulled over and looked under the car, then I checked the brake fluid reservoir. Bone dry. How is it that "Brake Masters" failed to check and refill my brake fluid??? YOU DO ONE THING! Considering that the end result could have been lethal, I cannot in good conscience go back or ever recommend them. read more

Talk about world class service! Brake Masters Shop Manager Lori was very courteous and welcoming. She explained the benefits of each service my car needed and I appreciate that. Casper, Albert and their new team member from Chicago, Mike were great with doing the maintenance on my car. I've made 3 visits in September and not once did I ever feel I was being advised to purchase a service I didn't need. That too is highly appreciated. Pricing was very reasonable and although there are two other Brake Masters locations closer to where I live, I prefer this location solely on the customer service. Not taking anything from the other locations, but this location has really earned my business by taking good care of my car and helping me get on track with routine maintenance. so i usually go to the brake masters in AJ but went to this one because it's closer to work for an oil change.. made an appointment at 4 and they took my car right in, 30 min later the blonde lady walks to the counter with an estimate and says, "you're gonna need to save some money for this one" mind you I'm a 20 year old female so I'm not surprised that they are going to find things that need to be "fixed".. I get it it's a business. She tells me I need to replace my suspension shock and strut, and replace engine mount.. I told her to please email and print that out for me and I'll go somewhere else to get a second opinion. She then asks me if I even know what the parts are and where I'm going to get it looked at. I replied that's none of your business. She then said that they are about done with my car and just need to put air in the tires.. I wait for 30 more minutes and got up 2 times to check and both times no one was working on my vehicle.. finally she comes and tells me that she applied a $15 discount and my total is $79.95... where was the discount added?? I told her I had a $10 off coupon for a $79.95 synthetic oil change... she looks at it, and says that she will take off $5... I told her that the coupon says $10 not $5 and she proceeds to show me the computer that says - $5... not - $10.. I pointed it out again and she babbles about random fees and discounts.. I always come to this location. It really is out of my way, but it is worth it. It's a great price for oil changes. They tell you what else needs repair but they aren't pushy or sales-y. I don't like writing bad reviews but I am feeling compelled to let people know how wrong it is for an establishment to treat people the way this business is. My fiancé brought her vehicle to get her brakes checked and when she called in to get the pricing after they did the inspection i over heard the conversation the final price was over a $1k she was telling the man on the phone that it was a little steep so he said they don't need to put brake fluid they took 5 dollars off no help. I called up my mechanic instead we told Brakes Master no and we will pick up the car, upon arriving we were giving the worst experience of just getting our keys back we were there for 15 minutes asking begging to get our keys back Lori was taking a his time printing paperwork out a disclaimer saying we should have it towed the woman had an attitude tossing a clipboard handed to her once we let her know we were taking to a different place they both let us feel bad for not getting our car done there so petty. Lori I believe the store manager asked where we were taking our car for getting the brakes done for half the price because he would like to get a good deal too so I let him know Performance Automotive and Tire Center in Mesa on Superstition Springs Blvd. The worst part is that we just found out that Brakes Master was so petty that they did not put the cover back on correctly on the brake fluid bottle and if it popped off while taking our car to a different place we would've lost brake pressure and no brakes that would have been so lethal to us this makes me very scared that bad people would do something like this. Absolutely terrible company to deal with, had brakes put on 8 months ago for almost $900 and they are apparently bad (though I had brakes on other vehicles for years with no issues). NOW they want $230 to fix, spoke very calmly to Lee the district manager and he ended up yelling at me getting very frustrated and completely unable to do anything for me. Then spoke to Tim the boss and he's essentially refusing to do anything. Made an oil change appointment a day prior for 11 AM the next day. Arrived on time to appt and handed over my keys to John. He said "we'll have it done shortly." I left the building because it was warm in the waiting area. Walked over to Sprouts deli a block away, had them make a sandwich and I took my time eating lunch. I walked back to the shop. Arrived at the shop 1 hour later and my vehicle hadn't moved. I sat in waiting area then saw a tech walking towards my vehicle. I stopped him, asked for my keys, and told him to cancel my scheduled 11 am appt being that it was now 12:05 and he hadn't begun the oil change yet. This was my 3rd time here and now is my last. i'm giving this place 4 stars because of one reason . my car was really messed up , they had to order a lot of parts and it took way longer than expected , but they did what they could to make things right . they got me a rental and didn't charge me for the last part that i needed which was a couple hundred dollars . there wasn't much anyone could of done but it is what it is . me and lori at the front desk butted heads for sure , i was very upset from everything i was paying and i raised my voice more than i should have , she didn't deserve that , after all that was said , she still did me a huge favor and after they closed she grabbed something out of my car that i needed for me . appreciate that deeply . read more
