I searched online for a quote to change my front and rear brake pads and found Brake Kingdom, so I decided to stop by. Two other automotive shops, including the Mercedes-Benz dealer, had told me that my brakes were fine. However, they mentioned that if I wanted to change them, it would cost over $2,500. Israel, the owner, offered to inspect my brake pads and confirmed that the rear ones needed to be replaced. He promptly contacted his suppliers to find the best possible price, which I found to be fair. I left my car with him, and he completed the work in 90 minutes. In contrast, the dealer would have had my car for two days without providing a loaner vehicle! After changing the pads, Israel showed me the ones that the previous owner had installed. Although the team he was very nice.. I had to come back several times with issues!!! I got an oil change that was supposed to last 5000 miles. First I had to come back because the oil gasket was not put back properly so my car said there was engine trouble. Now, I haven't even driven 1000 miles and my car needs another oil change. Again the team is very nice which is why I gave them 2 stars. But awful at the actual work required. My husband's car had issues too! I hardly review automotive services but once in a while I find good ones that are worth mentioning. Brake Kingdom is one of them. My car one day started making this screeching noise and I knew it was coming from the brakes. I consulted the closest Lexus dealer first and the advisor told me that I would need to change the pads and rotors. It was going to cost around $800 for the four. FYI, I also work for a dealer and its common practice to upsell the customer. However, I'm also friends with several mechanics and they always suggest to get quotes from independent mom and pop shops. Glad I listened and found Brake Kingdom on Yelp. It has decent reviews so I decided to go for it. I called and within one ring, the shop owner picked up. He asked me a few questions about what I hear or feel when I press the brakes on my car and gave me quote for a pair of brake pad replacement. I told him that I'll be at his shop at 9:30am the following day. It's not the cleanest or most organized shop so I was a bit worried, to be honest. The owner said that it will probably take about 1 1/2 hours so I just Ubered to the gym to kill time. Around 11am, he called to let me know that my car was ready. My bill was $187 including labor and taxes. Wow! I just saved about $600! He said that I didn't need to change the rotors, just the front brake pads and the back ones will need to be replaced in about 2 months. Needless to say, I was happy with his honesty and for saving me time and money. It's about a month now and my replacement brake pads still perform good as new. I will definitely come back here and get my back pads replaced in about a month. read more

Amazing trustworthy place! I was looking for a local news shop and saw the reviews on here. My car had some issues and also needed to be towed and they helped out. I easily had it towed to their shop and they looked at it to help me see what was going on. They didn't take advantage or overcharge. I explained to them that depending on the cost I may just consider selling so they waited until I approved everyone continue the work. Terrific place, I went by to see when I could make an appointment for my brakes on my German car. The Brake repair light was on in the car and I was worried, Izzy told me, he could do it right then and there. He told me, give me the keys to check if front or back.After a quick test, It turned out to be back brakes. He told me I only needed pads and the sensors but not rotors. The labor would be about an hour and a half to two hours..all said and done, I went to nearby Dunkin Donuts and repair took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. He also showed me the parts which my normal dealer where I purchased the car from, never did. I was very happy with price, time, repair and honesty. What can I tell you about this shop except that I was in complete shocked for how honest these guys were. I had just left Aamco, with a proposal to fix my manual transmission (Clutch Plate replacement I was told) for almost $1k. I was looking for a second proposal, I thought maybe I could save a few dollars. My brother told me to go see Israel, he will do you right he said, so I did. I called him on a Saturday morning and Israel said, bring it in, I need to look at it before I can give you a true estimate. I took my 2008 G37 and after a few minutes, he said to me, I don't think it's your clutch, perhaps the master cylinder but let me check it. Long story short, he noticed the brake fluid was very dark, contaminated. He said, let me see if we can save it. He emptied the reservoir and filled it with new fluid (a few times) and voila! Problem fixed, saving me money on the clutch and the master cylinder. The most honest mechanic shop I have ever seen. Thank you Israel and team! I will recommend you and your team for life! read more
