Justin worked me into their schedule on a weekend day with only half an hour's notice, and then spent time with me giving me some tips to make sure I did the job correctly. The price was fair, too. Don't trust these guys!!! I paid to have them replace my shoes on the rear axle. Instead they changed my oil without asking. They claimed that they replaced my shoes, springs, wheel cylinders, adjusting wheel, etc. None of this was done. I believe they saw that the brakes looked to be in decent condition and did nothing, Their mistake was that the self adjuster doesn't work on the emergency brake. They didn't even try adjusting this. Unfortunately, I found this out because I have a clutch, I park on a hill and my truck rolled down it with my parking brake fully extended. read more

We have taken all of our family's cars here for several years even before it was Brake Force. David was our guy; providing great service and fair pricing. Ever since he left, Brake Force has never been the same. This was never made more clear to us then when we had Brake Force put a new engine into our cherished Charger. We made the decision to go with Brake Force after Jim promised a 5 year/50,000 mile warranty on the engine from the manufacturer. A couple days after we picked up our car, we noticed wet spots on the garage floor where the car was parked. This marked the first of countless number of times that the car had to be brought back to the shop. This went on for a couple months. During one of the times that we came back to pick up the car after they "fixed" the leak, we were told that the part they needed wouldn't be available for a couple days. Our patience was already worn thin with the prolonged engine installment process, we asked them why they couldn't have told us that when we dropped off the car earlier that morning. Jim was not only defensive and laying blame to other guys in the shop, he was outright rude. In addition, if It wasn't clear before, each of the times that we had to bring the car back, it was due to their poor workmanship and inability to fully isolate the leaks. To further aggravate the issue, we were never given a copy of the warranty after repeatedly asking for the promised document. Each time we called to remind them, we were told that Juan the owner would look for it and also that it was in the mail. Five months later after still not receiving the warranty, we contacted the company that provided the engine that was listed on the invoice only to find out that they had NO record of an engine purchased by Brake Force for our car. This is when we had our lawyer write a letter to Brake Force. Their response was to say that Brake Force would honor the warranty. Three things wrong with this: 1.) Their repeated incompetency makes that not an option, 2.) When they are no longer in business (yes, when) the "warranty" is no good, and 3.) This was not what we were originally promised by Jim and Juan. We feel compelled to share our experience so unsuspecting car owners can have some real information to go on to save themselves a lot of money and frustration. read more

Okay so everything was fine I got my brakes fixed paid it off in the 100 days my only problem with this place of business is the employee, one in particular. So when I was talking to the guy, I don't recall his name but He was the bald white dude helping me setup my account and bill pay. I don't know what we where talking about but then he straight up said something along the lines 'you look like the kind of girl that has a DUI.' it came so out of left field that after that comment I got defensive because one,I don't have a dui two, he doesn't know me and for him to make a stupid and hurtful comment is just rude and third that's super unprofessional and he should know not to talk to a customer or make assumptions like that. Anyways that's was the only bad side of my experience at brake force. I'm not saying don't go here but just be cautious what kind of treatment you could potentially be given. read more

After going to both Midas and Les Schwab for an evaluation and quotes, I found myself at Brake Force. The manager, Justin, was friendly and thorough. He answered all of my questions and set me up with an appointment for the following morning to have my brake pads, calipers, and rotors replaced. The gentlemen at Brake Force also changed my brake fluid and checked everything else to make sure I wouldn't have any surprises later on. They took me out into their shop and showed me everything that they saw and thoroughly explained it all. They use a better brand of calipers than Les Schwab does, so I won't find myself back in the brake shop in a year and a half with more problems. The price was very reasonable for the quality and service that I received. I sat in their lobby and got some work done while they fixed my car... they even made some coffee for me while I was there! I had to take my 2012 Subaru Forester into the dealership for an airbag recall and at the time they also did a vehicle inspection. The Subaru dealership proceeded to tell me that I had an engine oil leak, I needed new tires and new brakes and they quoted me close to $4,000. I wanted a second opinion so I took my car into Brake Force. My husband's family has been going to them for years and they really trust their work and prices. After 24 hours they called me with the results. They said that my tires and brakes were in great condition and it would be awhile until they needed to be replaced. As far as the engine oil leak (the most expensive fix of all 3), they said that my engine is fine. He said they noticed some residue, but it is nothing to worry about and if I wanted it "fixed", they could do it in 15 minutes and maybe charge $100, if that. I will definitely use Brake Force again! read more

After finally daring to have my car checked due to the loud noise (at Les Schwab, while having my tires checked and repaired) I had to do some research in getting the best and most affordable replacement of 2 (now 3) wheel bearings to be replaced. My friend Sunny told me about this place, where they fix more than just brakes! (I was in denial re needed repairs due to financial issues) I called, and the nicest young man gave me a great quote, and when I finally had saved up the money, David honored it. He then provided me with additional great prices for the 3rd bearing, a much needed oil change, and new wipers. Winter is coming, as we all know... lol. My entire experience thus far has been great, super friendly staff, they keep you up to date while you wait. Clean waiting area and rest room. I highly recommend this shop. read more

He knew what the problem was with my car, quoted a very reasonable price for repairs, and took the time to explain what work was done and what didn't have to be worked on immediately. He knew more about my car than the mechanics. That guy was gold and I would trust him with any car issue and he was the reason for many of the 5 star reviews here BUT he left. I found that out and I had to deal with the other mechanics and the surly owner who quoted a very high estimate and who was basically short in all his answers. This is our first time coming to this place. We initially went to Midas because it was close to our house. They were charging us almost $500 to fix our back tire breaks and change our rotors. My husband decided to call other places to see if we can get a better deal, we never heard of this place before but decided to give it a try. Not only was the replacement of our breaks and rotors $160 but the staff was so friendly and even let my husband check out the vehicle while they were working on it. I will post again in a few weeks to update on how our car is working but so far everything seems to be working great! If you are looking for a mechanic who takes care of you at a fair price, look no further. These guys got my over due brakes done plus fixed an ongoing passenger door problem that had proven to be quite a battle. It was locked shut for months and repair seemed impossible. They checked it all out thoroughly first and told me what part I needed. They said I'd be able to find it cheaper at the junk yard to find a door. I was able to get the part and they brought down the cost from 2 hours labor to 1 so that I could afford to get it done. The job ended up taking Dave (the manager) a day and a half because it was hopelessly locked shut with all the parts bent. He worked on it until it was done and honored the original price. He wouldn't let it go until he followed through and I can't say enough good things about my experience with this shop. It's so NICE to have my door back! read more

Finding a new mechanic is stressful but when I moved to Tigard and needed some work done I got lucky: the first garage I used was Brake Force. I bought some high-quality pads and rotors from Amazon and just dropped in on a Saturday morning to get them installed. I wanted while-u-wait service, and that's what I got. One hour later I was on my way, with brakes as smooth as glass. While I waited in their clean but not too special waiting room, I used the free wifi to watch Netflix on my laptop. Nice clean rest room, too. I thought it was interesting they still had my name in the computer from when it was BrakeTeam. ***Caution*** You get what you pay for. Nice guy but the job was let down by several factors. Caliper was leaking. Manufacturer defect. No big deal. Bring it back. Ask that the fluid is cleaned of my wheel and tire when repair is done. Came back to pick it up and nothing was cleaned. I was told that in fact it was cleaned even though it was quite clear that there was still fluid all over the tire and on the inside of the wheel. Also there were greasy marks in several places on my upholstery. Finally one of my center caps had been dented in 2 places. I contacted for a replacement and came in and it was the wrong one. Wrong color. Wrong size. Again, I was told I was wrong. This honestly was the worst part. Things go wrong. That's ok. But being lied to is insulting. I gave them several chances to make things right and they just continued to do a quick and dirty job. Brake pedal wasn't even adjusted either. The whole new setup felt worse than the old. I am having it booked into another mechanic to get it all fixed properly. I have never felt compelled to write a review but I feel like not sharing my experience could cause others to have the same experience. read more

Such a GREAT PLACE! I took my Mustang in here to get a tune up and brakes done. The tune was great but they said we didn't even need brakes, but it was the tie rods. They even took me in to show me since I clearly was out of my league. They could've taken advantage of me not knowing as much but instead were very honest and upfront. I love them for this! I took my car back in later for the tie rods after we failed miserably to do it ourselves. They were able to get me in for a late afternoon so I didn't have to miss work. They did it quickly at the same price I was quoted. My husband noticed the car listing slightly to the right and they offered to redo the alignment for no charge. (It was only half a degree off, so no blame there.) They have a nice waiting room with a flat screen and cable. I was able to watch my favorite shows while I was there. They also have strong A/C and wifi! But as a suggestion, some other car shops have cookies or popcorn out for their customers. Not necessary, but would make waiting a lot better :) Also, a huge pro, they're in a great location next to a lot of stuff. You can drop your car off and walk across the street to McDonalds, 7/11, Dollar Tree, Value Village, Rite Aid, and some other restaurants. It's great to have options and not be stranded without a car. There's really no down side here. They're great people who do great work. David is always so friendly and responsive. I had my car fixed by Christian last time and he was great. I didn't catch the other names but you can't go wrong here. read more

Cruising down the road in my girlfriend's Chevy POS (aka Aveo / Daewoo) we were nearly rear ended by several people. So pulled over to check out the break lights. Sure enough they aren't working. So since we were already in the area headed to our trusty shop Suby-Yota but sadly they are closed on Sunday's. Low and behold Brake Force is conveniently open next door. The mechanics looked busy but a very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman offered to have a look at our car immediately. Turns out it was not a fuse as I had suspected but rather the brake switch. They didn't have it in stock but the gentleman was able to have it delivered from NAPA within 15 minutes, and installed in another five. HIS knowledge and quick problem solving skills made the whole experience a good value and we were back out on our way to enjoy a lovely Sunday afternoon! read more
