Hello there if you want your car to get messed up by one of there shitty techs go ahead! This is one of the worst shops I've ever seen I've had my car in 4 times and everytime I bring it in it seems to get worse some how and I just get bs excuses and my car just sits in there shop for weeks on end.. I came in to get headgaskets replaced and I got the car back and it barely ran/ started and it's been a nightmare since don't ever go here just spend the Money to go to a dealer. I got my axel replaced as well and they forgot to tighten the axel nut and it flew off which is completely unprofessional and super dangerous and bc of this they gave me a 5$ coupon even tho one of there techs could have killed me wooohooo! read more

Our 2015 Audi Q7 diesel needed an oil change before a 4-5 hour trip later the same week I called another shop with "Diesel" in its name but they had moved their location about 30-45 minutes away. That shop owner recommended Tyler's Automotive in Newberg as he had sent a few customers needing help there with good reports. II scheduled the oil change online for a day later at noon, and waited about 90 minutes for the service. They only charged me $40 for labor and with 8 quarts of synthetic oil it was under $200, much cheaper than the dealership. I asked them to check the AdBlue diesel additive which was low so they topped it up. They also changed the battery in my key fob when I mentioned it was acting funny. I overheard several conversations with other customers while I waited and they were courteous and detailed in their explanations. I plan to take our cars there for service whenever we're in Dundee visiting family. read more

Here are my thoughts.. I called them to schedule an oil change. The gentleman who answered the phone was polite and scheduled me quickly. I had to call back later though for a quote since that wasn't a part of our call. My appointment was 8:30 am on a Friday. They did mention it may be an hour which is a little longer then when you go to jiffy lube or those places but that wasn't terribly long. They even offered me a ride home. I got to Tyler's Automotive at 8:07.. I knew I was early but it was what it was. I declined the offer and went and volunteered at the animal shelter to pass my time. I did need to get to work but obviously I couldn't until my car was done.. The wait is what killed me about this whole experience. Their pricing is competitive as it cost me $66 for a full synthetic oil change but it took them 2 hours from my appt time and 2 1/2 hours from when I dropped off my car. At 10:35 I called them to see if my truck was done and they said oh yeah.. we just pulled it out to the bay. I find it hard to believe that my timing was that good with the call but whether they forgot to call me or it really took them 2- 2 1/2 hours due do a oil change that was a like ridiculous. I struggle with whether I would go back or not... were they polite and reasonably priced absolutely. Did it take twice as long then estimated and about 1 1/2 hours more than jiffy lube yes. Also there was not explanation or apologize which was odd. I am tore at this point if the price is worth the wait. read more

I came in with my car overheating. They installed a new radiator for $642. I couldn't even make it home and the steam and overheating was back. Ended up with a blown head gasket. After several phone calls they returned about one fourth of my cost and my car is worthless. read more

Here's the skinny... In my experience with Tyler's Automotive of Newberg, they have always been straightforward and honest with me. Ever since I came to them with my second (play) car, they have given me good repairs, straightforward quoting, and good advice. Recently I made the mistake of taking my play car to a "tuner" shop in Portland. This "tuner" shop nearly destroyed the car because of their ineptness at all levels. Keith and his crew at Tyler's Automotive have helped me nurse the car back to good condition and are setting me up to take this car to the next level. While Tyler's doesn't do performance work per se, they employ ASE certified mechanics, and even Master certified mechanincs. This tells you that there is a baseline of knowledge that you can depend on. They have always been straight up with me, telling me what they could and couldn't do given my situation. The pricing is reasonable and fair. They even have a room where you can see the work being done on your vehicle. This puts you at ease knowing that they're open enough to do that. I look forward to working with them much more in the future. As a matter of fact, they're putting a nicer steering wheel on my daily driver at the end of the month. It'll be nice to have a little bit of luxury thanks to Tyler's! read more

Backstory: I tried to do my own brake/rotor job on my Subaru. One of the calipers was frozen, so I was unable to get the new pad in properly. I was in a bit of a time crunch, so I had my car towed to a national chain shop nearby to get the calipers replaced and to finish the job I started. A day and almost a grand later and with no warranty because they used my parts, my car was back in my driveway, ready to roll. However, I quickly noticed a heavy clunking noise coming from my front end when going over bumps. I took it back to the chain shop and was quoted $1900 for a complete steering rack replacement. I wasn't so sure, so I made an appointment with Tyler's Automotive, got my car in and checked out. They found that the noise was due to unlubricated brake calipers. Lube job complete, I drove home along some streets that had been especially noisy and, long story shortish, the noise is gone and I saved $1750 on unnecessary work at a shop with a dubious record. Tyler's came highly recommended and I must concur. The guys there did an excellent and thorough job and found themselves a new customer. Big ups to Tyler's Automotive! read more

I've taken company trucks and personal vehicles here. Everytime the guys at Tylers in Newberg come through with a timely repair - most often at, or below, what their bid is. I've had work done on a Toyota truck, F250, Ford Focus, Ford Ranger, and Jeep Wrangler...every time they are good about diagnosing the problem and getting it fixed. They always answer the phone and and give an update on what they've found, what the cost will be, and a good estimate of when the vehicle will be available for pickup. They were very good at keeping in touch with me and they showed excellent communication when it came to the vehicles actual problem and resolution. Friendly service with poor results! Twice I have taken a rig in for troubleshooting and repair saying "This is my work vehicle, so when we schedule a time, please be prompt." "oh, yes we will", they said. However, when I see my car sitting outside all day long I wonder of they are really working on it! Then they want it for another day! For goodness sake!! Tyler's is amazing! I took a chance on having my car towed to Tyler's instead of the VW dealer because AAA recommended them. Normally, I'd try to repair my Passat on my own -- but was stuck away from home. Not only did they diagnose and replace my starter in under 24 hours (VW wouldn't have even started the work for 2 days), they also handled some add-on requests I made -- replace temp sensor and oil change. This was all done for exactly the price they quoted me. To top it off, they replaced a tail-light bulb I didn't know was out and did a full diagnostic on my alternator and battery. I was also impressed that Keith at the front desk understood the specifics of my Passat and obviously had a strong background in all types of vehicles - also great customer service skills. Additionally, the facility was clean and well organized. Honestly, I think this is the best repair shop experience I've ever had and I'm certain I saved a bunch compared to the VW dealer. We're considering taking our other vehicles here even though it's 3 hours from home in Central Oregon. read more
