That shop owner recommended Tyler's Automotive in Newberg as he had sent a few customers needing help there with good reports. II scheduled the oil change online for a day later at noon, and waited about 90 minutes for the service. They only charged me $40 for labor and with 8 quarts of synthetic oil it was under $200, much cheaper than the dealership. I asked them to check the AdBlue diesel additive which was low so they topped it up. They also changed the battery in my key fob when I mentioned it was acting funny. I overheard several conversations with other customers while I waited and they were courteous and detailed in their explanations. I plan to take our cars there for service whenever we're in Dundee visiting family.

The contrast of experiences:…read more So about a month ago my husband took our truck into a well known franchise repair shop and we paid quite a bit of money for the repairs. When we were called to pick up the truck we were told they had done some additional work and it would cost us more. We didn't authorize the additional work (which was unrelated to the initial problem) and balked at the charge. In the end we paid for the parts, but not the labor. And now, the unauthorized repair is causing issues with the truck- very frustrating. Yesterday, our other car stopped working. We had it towed to Cecil Brown's (we weren't going back to the franchise repair shop). We believed there was something wrong with the starter. Got a call from Cecil Brown's and it turns out the starter was dead. We authorized repairs and we were consulted on which parts we'd like to use. The car was repaired within hours. I'm amazed at the different experiences. I'll be taking all our business to Cecil Brown from now on.
