The report included photos of all the problems, including three burnt out light bulbs, and even a photo of my oil dip stick. The job was completed promptly, and the cost was fair. Brought my Nissan X-Terra in for a diagnosis for a 4x4 system malfunction and a general overview inspection. They were unable to to diagnose the 4x4 system issue as it requires a Nissan Scanner, thus needing a Dealer to look at it. They conducted a whole-vehicle inspection and texted me a complete report and followed up with a call to let me know what items were a priority and what could wait. The week of 9/6 we left our home in SoCal on a 4 week road trip...in NoCal the battery light came on and we limped into a Ford dealership where they diagnosed a bad battery and weak alternator....they replaced the battery & sent us on our way....in Beaverton we again went completely dead, called AAA which took us to a nearby Ford dealer where we were told it would be 9/19 before they could look at our F-150.... I called another dealer and they said it would be 9/30 before they could check it....a friend recommended we try Henderson as did the tow truck driver...Henderson said it may be the 13th before they could check the truck...took it to Henderson on the 8th, they did a 10 point inspection on the 9th, repaired everything that needed fixed including a new alternator (urgent), headlight, license plate light (non-urgent) and had the truck ready for a touch free pickup on that afternoon!! I was able to make an appointment to drop off my car despite their full schedule with less than 12 hours notice so they found start to look on to my check engine light. They have a great overnight drop off system and text you a report to look at. What they found was actually a software upgrade that needs to be taken care of by the dealership and they didn't end up charging me for a diagnostic test since they were unable to do any work. Henderson auto is awesome. They seem to be completely honest. They send you a vehicle report with photos and recommendations and are not pushy in anyway. If something needs to be done but doesn't have to be done right away they tell you about how long they think you have and let you decide based on that if you want to wait or not. Prices are fair, I am sure you can find cheaper work but i don't think you will get comparable amounts of trustworthiness or honesty. I told them of a issue another shop had found and told Me needed to be done, and asked them to do that for me, they could have just gone ahead and done this service and had me pay for it. But instead they took a look and found the other shop had lied about it and the service didn't need to be done at all. I just moved to Tigard from out of state and failed my smog test because the check engine light was on. I brought my car to Henderson partly because of the good reviews and partly because he was close to me. He did some research and found out that the problem with my car was a known issue to Hyundai. He called the dealer for me and gave me the good news that the dealer would fix the problem for me at no charge. He went above and beyond. Then he didn't charge me for the diagnostic. That is good customer service. The shop is immaculate, which impressed me. Katie and Brian both greeted me warmly which made me feel good. My van had a failing front wheel bearing which I needed replaced. I got quotes from a couple new shops because my old repair shop recently changed owners and the new owner was was being dishonest with prices on both parts and labor. Henderson Auto is one that came in fair on price for the job. Kindness and responsiveness on the phone from Katy and Brian to my questions and fair upfront pricing brought me in. One additional part needed replaced and he called me to let me know. They charged no additional labor and I price checked the part later and it was same as if I had bought it from a local auto store myself. He also let me know about an additional service originally quoted and that it was not needed at this time and asked if I wanted to skip it and save the money. I can work with a shop like that! Also their up front inspection of your vehicle comes photos of the parts on your car they are diagnosing with costs if you wish to have them done as well. When I went in to pay, Brian showed me the additional bad part from my van and where the damage was to it. They had me in and out in 2 days and the new wheel bearing has been nice and quiet. I brought my car here based on some great reviews and I'm so glad I did. The service was outstanding. I went in with one major concern and a couple of smaller ones. Sadly it was my transmission and just not worth saving. He told me that as soon as they turned it on they figured that out and let me know. Brian and his crew are amazing. I brought my car in, for a leak repair that the dealer said was needed. Not only was it going to be $600 less here, Brian said the leak was so minor that he "would feel bad taking my money to fix it at this point". He also told me that my brakes were at only 15% in the front ... the dealer didn't even mention that they needed to be replaced. I will now be bringing both of my cars to Brian for all of the service they need. I'm glad there are still honest people out there, not just looking to take your money. read more

I have never felt more "taken advantage of" as I felt leaving Henderson Auto. I was representing my daughter who had an agreement with Henderson that no work would be done on her car until her approval. She'd dropped car off for the weekend and made it clear she only wanted an "estimate" for replacing alternator. Their price was 30% higher than several other bids so I went in to pick it up while she was at work. I told them the estimate was too high - i was only there to pick up the car. He said it would take two hours to get the car ready for me to take???? Parts taken off around radiator - very odd when only an estimate was requested. I was patient and walked around town for 3 hours before he had it ready to take. Before giving me the keys he presented me with a bill for upwards of 700 dollars?? I could not believe it. The alternator had been replaced in spite of our clear statements otherwise. I feel he had been offended when his inspection turned up a radiator problem that 'might turn into something' and we decided to go elsewhere. I decided to not call my attorney or begin shouting at the red faced guy. What a dishonest business ethic. Very insulted by Henderson and his company and would not recommend them. read more

The team at Henderson Auto did a terrific job with my car. I set an appointment and dropped off my car where they have it all set up to be contactless. I received a detailed invoice about three hours later all set with pictures and detailed descriptions of maintenance that needed to be done. Gave them the green light and all four of my rotors were replaced by end of day. They went the extra mile and contacted the Kia dealership for quotes that I had inquired about. The quotes including the labor costs were included in my official invoice which saved me a lot of hassle. Absolutely recommend this place, very professional, honest, and competent at what they do. So... as a student trying to milk a budget, I'd been hammering my starter to get it to work through my final exams! I happened to overshoot the dog park one day, pulled into the lot of Henderson Automotive by chance, and it happened to be there that my car would start no more. They supported my efforts to get "one more start" out of my car in my last desperate attempt to get my car home, and when I decided to just have it fixed, they gave me a fair price and the had the part there and the work done that same day! They also did a courtesy check on a few other things on my car, such as how the brakes and battery were doing: their report back was spot on with the information I already had about my brake pads,battery, etc., so I appreciated their honesty and accuracy!
